I'm an Italian leaving in Wuhan. I never left (even when the embassy provided a flight to go back to Italy, when Italy was safe). I did stay with my boyfriend and his parents for the whole lockdown, more than 50 days. We couldn't go out, not even to buy groceries. I'm so proud to live in this amazing city and Wuhan people are so strong!

I am a Japanese Australian expatriate living in Shanghai and on the second day of the Chinese New Year when the pandemic is at its worst, I was trekking in nepal and I immediately bought a ticket and flew back to Shanghai to be with the chinese people and never left since, china have given me the most generous support and love and I want to thank the people of china and to be with them and support them while the pandemic is at its worst. I have shed many tears with the chinese while I was being quarantined in Shanghai, even today I still shed tears but tears of happiness that the whole nation have stay together and fight the pandemic and to be what they are today . what really impressed me about china is despite the blame, the attacks and media propaganda, the chinese government are willing to put all these aside and help other nations even India with vaccines and medical aid, this is what I called humanity over politics, salute to the people of china and thank you and jiayou !

I am lying on my bed in Wuhan. I have not left my community for two month. There is no more new patient for 2 days. Normal life is coming back. Don’t be anxious and afraid, staying at home is the best way to protect yourself.

How about a moment for all the package/freight delivery people, and all the people handling those packages you order online? How about a moment of thanks to the gas stations remaining open? How about those people? Matter-of-factly, just about every minimum wage employee still reporting for duty while management operates from the safety of home? Doctors are swell...but you don't depend on them to operate your day to day consumption. When that goes away...tremble. We are the unsung heroes...we are the ones who make the world go around.
It's very common for Chinese doctors to work 12+ hours per day. If you work on the front-line as medical personnel, you are given 300 yuan/day, on top of your wage. Plus 10 bonus marks to their kids in Gaokao ( tests for entering universities) If you are infected, you are given 140,000 yuan and a guaranteed bed in a decent hospital. I know it's not enough, but the government is doing something to back them up.

No government is perfect but no one can deny the tremendous courage of the people working at the front lines. So inspiring. As a westerner I have to admit that few of my fellow citizens in the west would have anywhere near the discipline and willingness to sacrifice like so many in China have. Its also something few here would admit or even realize. The people in China are a testament to the world in how to battle a problem thinking far more of others than themselves. I'm an Italian leaving in Wuhan. I never left (even when the embassy provided a flight to go back to Italy, when Italy was safe). I did stay with my boyfriend and his parents for the whole lockdown, more than 50 days. We couldn't go out, not even to buy groceries. I'm so proud to live in this amazing city and Wuhan people are so strong!

It's very common for Chinese doctors to work 12+ hours per day. If you work on the front-line as medical personnel, you are given 300 yuan/day, on top of your wage. Plus 10 bonus marks to their kids in Gaokao ( tests for entering universities) If you are infected, you are given 140,000 yuan and a guaranteed bed in a decent hospital. I know it's not enough, but the government is doing something to back them up.

@@Basedbateman97 Your comment shows who is the real dumb, if you don't follow the news that western people laugh, abuse, and even beat Asians I can tell you my personal experience. I study in Germany and I have experienced many times that people call me coronavirus directly. If they are really afraid of the virus they should just stay away, instead of getting closer and making fun of us. We actually really don't care about hug or something at all, cause usually it's hypocritical. And about the ridiculous gloves... If you just wear ordinary gloves it will not work, and if you touch your face, you may still be infected. I'm shocked that there is someone still with such a stupid idea even the outbreak has been going on for so long...Or it's just another excuse to slander Chinese. Take care of yourself at first lol
