I loved the terrain in this one - the rebels blend in really well, while the stormies draw attention to themselves... lucky there was not an army of Ewoks hiding. As an aside, i've taken your super friendly and helpful approach to game playing with my regular gaming partner and it's made things much more open and friendly. Not that we had a problem, but, for example, we now remind each other when we've forgotten to use an upgrade or whatever, even when losing, so games are just more enjoyable.
The best part about it is it makes the games more fun. The second best part about it is if you guys ever play in a semi competitive tournament you will each be better players for it.
War Corgi battle reports, helping the Legion community through lock down. Great game, thanks guys. Ps. Sad to see Max's special dice gone, but I understand why lol.
I just recently got the starter set for this amazing game, and can't wait to play some more with my brother. Thanks for getting me into this! And thanks for another awesome video!
Give that one Rebel Officer a promotion! MVP of the match for the Rebels right there! Great game as always, convinced now to try out Iden in some of my Imperial lists.
1:08:40 I struggle with the wording on Krennic's 2-pip card. It seems common practice that the unit with the faceup order token gets a standby token. But the card says they get a standby action. The implication is that at the start of the activation phase, those two units don't get a token, rather, its time for them to take the action - ie: both units move, or shoot, or whathaveyou. This would not be the first time I've read a legion card and been able to easily come to two very different conclusions. :-)
I think the thing is taking a Stand By action grants the unit a token, while spending a token allows them to either move or shoot. I am confident that we played it as it is commonly accepted, but I take your point here.
@@warcorgi3623 I finally figured out my issue: Units get 2 actions on a turn, they can spend an Action taking the dodge action and taking a dodge token. By that reasoning, 'perform a free standby action' must mean the action of taking a dodge token... not the actual action completed under the standby - thus arriving at the common play method. Can you tell I'm an old MTG rules lawyer? ;-)
Hi War Corgi, I notice some little mistake with suppression token and cover but these happen to everybody. I only like to comment on mistake that can elevate your game. For exemple at 1:10:10 remember that pierce is optional keyword, you should have not use it so the leader of the stormtrooper unit would still live and you would be in melee to not take the attacks from the stanbys token.
My Cassian and Iden just arrived a couple of hours ago. Already started spraying them up! Vital Assets arrived on Wednesday too so I've got plenty to be getting on with for the foreseeable future. :)
I'm in the same boat, they're all going to shake the game up quite a bit. Mind you with the lockdown in the UK it'll be months before I get a game in though. Still, I have your videos to help scratch that itch so it isn't all bad. :)

Hey Michael! Thanks for another great bat rep. My heart goes out to the two AT-RT's who couldn't get repaired in time from unfortunate random order token shuffles. I felt your pain XD. I have some questions for you that I was hoping you could answer: 1) Have you considered filming (and have you ever tried) a Grand Army sized game? I myself have not been able to try one out yet but I'd like to soon. I'm sure the editing would take ages so I totally understand if that's not at the top of your list LOL. 2) Have you done any "Same Faction" battles? (for instance Rebels vs Rebels, Empire vs Empire, etc.) and finally 3) Have you done any of the "terrain scenarios" from FFG? (Downed AT-ST, Crashed Escape Pod etc.) Sorry for the long questions... Thanks in advance!
Hi Devon! Thanks for the comment. Here is my attempt to answer your questions. 1) Ep 3 was the closest we ever came to filming a Grand Army Battle Report. We used 1,200 points per side and I personally didn't find it as enjoyable as the standard 800 point format. I don't think we will be filming any more like that in the future. 2) We have not done any "Same Faction" batreps on the channel. To be honest, even when playing at my FLGS we tend to stay away from same faction battles. We like the feel of different factions facing off against each other, although there is nothing wrong with same faction battles. 3) We are looking to do some of the terrain scenarios in the future but haven't filmed any at present. You can check out a custom three game campaign series we did on the Paint All The Minis TH-cam channel though. Thanks for the questions! Let me know if there are any more that I can answer for you.
War Corgi Thanks for your honest answers! I bet I’ll feel the same way as you once I try those formats out for myself but I just wanted to hear your opinion. Thanks for getting back to me and see you in the next batrep! (Which I see you just uploaded and now I’m stoked)
I would question the Sniper shot on Luke with Full of Suprises as it's 2 black dice vs 4 defense dice but the Rebels have done a pretty good job of maintaining cover in the trees and take board space throughout the game as the Empire seems to pile up around their snipers in the trees. The snipers will have to put in some great work against troopers so make this work.
I'm tracking. I was trying to say i think I removed one for the Dodge but didn't remove one for cover. But you are absolutely correct; I should have only rolled for two saves.
I measured and the Stormtrooper Unit Leader was just outside of a Speed 1 move to Luke so I could not pull him into combat. I should have moved Luke closer to that unit leader when he charged into the Death Troopers, but Josh did a good job blocking me out with his other minis.
I'm new to this game, so I just want to clarify the standby token. Could he have used the standby immediately after Luke moved, so he wouldn't have lost that unit of stormtroopers, or do you have to wait until the unit triggering the standby (Luke) completes their entire activation?
He could have used it after Luke moved, but by then Luke was engaged with that unit of Stormtroopers and could not be shot. Had Luke jumped into the big squad of Stormtroopers, they would have been able to proc their standby and punch him before Luke could have made his attack.
Couldn't those stormtroopers with the garrison standby have triggered it off like but used it to shoot at the rebel troops in cover? Does the standby need to be used against the unit that triggers it?
Iden is a very hard choice in terms of how to field he, fully kitted up she is almost to expensive to run as a sniper unless your opponent is running multiple snipers then she can very easily delete activations. Her repeater is really to good to ignore as it will punish white defense dice opponents. Was a good batrep to watch, interesting to see how iden played out.
I agree with you. I think I will lean toward playing her aggressively with the TL-50 Repeater but there will be situations where the sniper rifle will be a great choice.

If you have a courage value of two or more and if you have one suppression it mostly acts as light cover that follows you around. Since the courage value is higher than 1, the suppression token will not affect his action. 31:00 is there something they had that gave the suppressed Rebel troopers two actions, or should they just have had one action?
You are correct that they should have only taken one action. Thankfully the Stand By token never comes into play.
@@warcorgi3623 wasn't sure if they had a captain or something I missed. Enjoy the vids, hope to see more.
Stay tuned. I have one edited and ready to publish next week.
did josh save a single time in round 1 ?
He technically made one save but I pierced through it. It was a rough round for defenders on both sides.
Pretty cool seeing a new unit on the board. Was hoping fifth troopers new mats would be in this. I got side bars in the mail now!

My experience is that DLT-20A on Iden is very week. Pay 140 for full loaded Iden and then get 2 dices per turn is not a good deal.
Thanks Petr. We came to the same conclusion at the end of the game.
At 58:00 you used Dodge token to deflect 3 shots with Luke. Shouldn't this token reduced hits to 2?
Yes, as I forgot to take one away for cover granted by the suppression token. Thanks for picking up on that.

War Corgi oh okay that makes sense. I keep forgetting about the rule stating if engaged you cannot be targeted by ranged attacks.
Great game, Josh needed to be a more aggressive earlier where he could have taken R2 out.
Yeah but he chose to focus down the ATRTs which helped him out. It's tough to say that he made a bad call there because I am not sure he did.

It was his first game with Iden and talking to him afterwards he came to the same conclusion.
Trabi 97 Yes. Actually the Imperial Army is often the “aggressive” faction.
War Corgi: what were you objectives for R2D2?
R2D2 was there to take some wounds off of the AT-RTs but Josh was shooting them down too quickly. At that point he did the only thing he could possible do which was to score his Secret Mission objective.
Man, I hate how much of a Mary Sue Luke is on tabletop. Dude's got as much Courage as Palpatine, and hits as hard as Dooku in combat.
Director Krennic proving not too useful this match, but good fight for both sides.
Yeah I staple Esteemed Leader on Krennic and then push them forward with everybody else, red saves+medic+3 dice rainbow with pierce 👍
He can be a tough piece to play. Krennic does have a lot of power in his command cards which were much more effective than Iden's command cards.
Why is it “good” to NOT roll off a suppression token?
If you have a courage value of two or more and if you have one suppression it mostly acts as light cover that follows you around. Since the courage value is higher than 1, the suppression token will not affect his action. This especially works with the Rebel Commandos who have Low Profile which means that they get Heavy Cover from Light Cover.
