Mr Zukerman always brags about his teacher Galamian, but does he even realize how great of a pedagogue he is himself ?

Fantastic amount of instruction and interesting facts, thanks to both. I've thought you should practise playing in tune with out-of-tune strings too but then I play mainly in amateur groups!

Its amazing how little great players know about how a violin really works. They are talented, they work a lot and they play great. But normally they have no idea about the physical aspect of violin playing.
Heifetz way of practing scale is , practice left finger alone of Carl Flesch and 3rds scales first.

@@nitelite4340 There is a book called "Basic Study" written by Carl Flesch published by Carl Fischer.
There is left finger alone exercises. Heifetz did practice this regularly and Hillary Hahn also does it.
I do too and it's very helpful for violin students.
One of the Heifetz video on TH-cam shows how Heifetz was doing it.

Pinchas should tell us how can someone play in tune if he cant hear that something is out of tune. And that is very very common.

It is NOT important WHAT you play when you practise. Just try to sound like Zukerman in ANYTHING you are practising and it is going to be useful. Practise the scales that he is playing out of tune and they are going to be completely useless.

Only learn to handle the violin bow from him. Please do not learn anything else.
Why?
i had a masterclass and i can confidently say he is one of the best teachers I've had the opportunity of learning from(among Aaron Rosand, Ehnes, Kalinovsky, Richard Lin)
Zukerman is an excellent pedagouge.. don't underestimate him man I've seen his teaching style
