I always thought the opposite. I was shocked to find out there were white Jewish people. As a child I always thought Jewish people were middle eastern or black African race because that’s the area Israel is in and in genesis and exodus it talks about them living in Africa in Egypt. When I grew up and found out there were all these white people saying they were Jewish I was shocked.
European Jews didn't start calling themselves Israelites until 1860. The word Jew was first placed in the 1804 edition of the KJ V bible and in every edition since! With the acceptance of the word and people as Isralites, the meaning applied to jew became, 'a person descended from the tribe of Yahudah', which of course is a deception.

I’m from Kenya and grew up as a Quaker in Canada. When I went to visit my family, I found out I had a nephew named Shalom and that he goes to a school that has a Synagogue, a Mosque, and a Church that share that same playground.
That's so cool! I mean, looking at it from a narrow lense, it's nice to hear all Abrahamic religions can truly get along in a secular fashion in the current year. My Dad worked with regufee schools breifly in my little country and there was one small Christian/Muslim school from people across the ME/NA.

If you have your DNA tested with the right organization (I had mine done around 20 years ago by Howard University's genetic lab, because it was a tax deductible donation) you will most likely discover that you're Mizrahi (North African Jewish) as a larger population of Louisiana Black Creole's are from that population. @moshe7019. If you do not read the Holy Scriptures you should not be spreading false tales regarding what or who is a Jew. A jew is a descendant of the tribe of Judah. Judah was one of Jacob’s twelve sons and Jacob is the son Isaac, the son of Abraham. Jacob’s name was later changed to Israel and his descendants are called Israelites. It is a bloodline, not a religion. However, The Most High God chose them as His people to who He gave the laws/commandments by which mankind should live. They are supposed to teach the gentiles these laws/commandments and therefore if the gentiles become believers and observe God’s laws, they will be grafted in among God’s chosen people but it will not make them bloodline Israelites.

First of all Sis, if you are Cape Verdean, you are NOT a Sephardic Jews. YOU are a JEW. People claiming to be Sephardic Jews are NOT Jews at all. Sephardic Jews are mostly of Spanish origin or Middle Eastern, North African/Egyptian descent. NONE of those people are from the stock of the 12 Tribes of Israel. The people who mixed with many of the African Cape Verdeans were Europeans Sephardic Jews but those Portugese and Spanish "Jews" were children of European CONVERTS. You can't convert to be a Jew or Israelite. A Jew is a someone who is descended by bloodline from the Tribe of Judah. And the Tribe of Judah were BLACK PEOPLE, NOT European. Being Jewish is a RACE AND A FAITH. Anyone can be Jewish, if they have descendants or converted, or both. I am Jewish partly by race, I do not practice but actually considered Jewish by race since my Grandmother was Jewish and taught Hebrew. I asked a Rabbi if I was considered Jewish, he laughed , and told me I am by race. I love the faith, and the tree of life, it's a lifetime of continued studies and faithful commitment to become a practicing Jew. I take all aspects from ancient practices all over the world and am extremely spiritual, I actually walk the red road. Its truly amazing to keep learning . I study all healing practices from around the world. I love the fact that we never stop learning. There are common threads in all areas of healings. ❤
It is impossible for you to be “ partly Jewish”. It is a legal status. Either you are a Jew or you are not a Jew. What you can parse is your ethnicity. And since Jewish ethnicity is non- existent you should find out the actual name of your ancestors ethnicity. It’s likely Ashkenazi as they tend to try to paint themselves as the prototype for Jewishness when they descend from converts

I get the same question when people find out that I am Jewish. They always tell me that I do not look Jewish. I then have to give them a brief history about Judaism. Most Americans believe that all Jewish people look like the Ashkenazi Jewish people.

Great videos. I have watched videos on the Igbos of Nigeria who practice Judaism. I'm 99 percent sure my Grandmother was a descendant of the black Igbos (Hebrews) brought to America and enslaved. Many of the things my Grandmother said and did are exact or similar to the Igbo people's customs.

Well said and true. I have met many Jewish individuals from all over the world. When the Dutch West Indies, a major shipping company sent their team of 14 family experts to New Amsterdam (the original name of New York) to establish the firm's company and starting their million dollar business there, their Mayor, Peter Stuyvesant, a rampant Anti-Semite, wanted the team to leave. All of the team were Sephardic Jews. When word of this got back to the Dutch West Indies, they sent a note to the mayor that they will send their team and million dollar shipments to Virginia instead. He quickly changed his mind. The relatives of these Sephardic families are still in the USA.
I don't understand why it matters what color your skin is if you accept Hashem as your Lord and only Hashem, celebrate the Sabbath from Friday at Dusk to Saturday at Dusk. @@amram1305 the original Hebrews were probably more of a middle eastern skin tone but being pushed out of our homeland we moved all across the World, people who lived in Warmer climates like Ethiopian, Middle Eastern and Ladino Jews kept the Melanin in their skin whereas Ashkenazi Jews in Eastern Europe living in colder climates lost the melanin in their skin which is the reason we have Jews of Many Colors today and Us Jews don't read the new testament we read the old testament which is actually the TORAH! So the color of Christ has no bearing on the color of today's practicing Jews. Our Judaism is actually in our genes when we marry we go through genetic testing to make sure we don't carry recessively certain genetic diseases that if we marry another Jew that carries that same recessive genetic disease could result in a horrible disease that would lead to the death of the children before the age of 4 or 5 yrs old. I have the First ever originally translated Bible into English in 1525, called the William Tyndale Bible Almost 100 years before to 1611 king James Bible. I had a dream about 6 yrs ago. I was speaking either Aramaic or Yiddish.. it was definitely from that region. When I woke up I couldn't speak a word of it! When I fasted in Buffalo about 8yrs ago the curses mentioned in Deuteronomy 28 fell on me like a ton of bricks and the connection between that and slavery with the possibility that blacks ARE Jewish and NOT just converts! I appreciate your look into this issue, and I like the way you explained the question you get asked. I actually found your video from asking a question about an anti white TikTok I saw which claimed Jews are actually black ( all of them) so I was trying to research to find out where people are getting this idea that black ppl were the original and only Jewish people which I don't understand as I know my Jewish family history pretty far back. These people are not inclusive talking about the rich history and collection of Jewish people but really just racist views spewed from anti white people who feel it's ok to say anything about one race that they'd never say about any other race. Unfortunately racism along with anti-semitism have become widely accepted. Those claims said in that way is really just anti-Semitic claims. When I was a kid in the 90s and 2000s really seemed we were really close to being largely past race issues for the most part not saying it didn't exist anywhere but those were great years for race relations especially comparing that time to now where all people want to do is talk about race, judge ppl based on race, teach your children to look at skin color. the media and especially with children and young people education is used to push the racial division. I think it goes back to divide and conquer. I really miss the days where it really seemed we were judging people based on merit. I think since there has been so much conflict between races throughout time and the “superiority” of certain cultures or peoples over others has caused so much harm to the mentality of people. But if you look at history, it has always been this way. We need to keep pushing this old ideas and understand we can interact without race being an issue.

There’s a lot, I do my own research and I know we as Black Americans are indeed one of the tribes “lost”. We were writing cursive Hebrew before the modern day slave owners beat it out of us which is prophecy of Torah.. there are many historians that studied the lost tribes in america which a lot of Jewish Europeans studied and learn most of our practices from them because we still kept the high holy days etc. it’s really interesting how certain people destroyed history but luckily everything was documented.

Fascinating topic! I happen to feel the same way with indigenous peoples bloodline. I believe there’s more Americans with Native American in their background or even bloodlines connecting them to the ancient America. They may or may not know how to reconnect to their origins or like some Jews, they changed their names for fear of discrimination.
I wonder if you can "reconnect" to something where is no connection. At the end of the day it is just a gene pool, and genes have no connection to culture. I'm not Jewish but I'm black and I'm HIGHLY offended by the term "Jew of Color" and can't stop shaking my head that there is a Jew who would come up with or even embrace such a notion.
It would be naive to pretend that Jews of color don't have a unique experience separate from what "white" jews experience. There are many jews around the world that don't fit into the mold of what Americans think of as Jews (ie Ashkenazi Jews). There are many religious and ritual differences between Middle Eastern jews and Eastern European Jews (google Sephardic Jews to learn more). Not fitting into that mold doesn't make them any more or less Jewish, but they still face prejudices and have different histories than "white" jews. Ignoring that reality doesn't do anyone any favors. Educating people on the differences without separating anyone from the tribe is a great way to create Jewish unity and elevate everyone's voice

I always thought the opposite. I was shocked to find out there were white Jewish people. As a child I always thought Jewish people were middle eastern or black African race because that’s the area Israel is in and in genesis and exodus it talks about them living in Africa in Egypt. When I grew up and found out there were all these white people saying they were Jewish I was shocked.
European Jews didn't start calling themselves Israelites until 1860. The word Jew was first placed in the 1804 edition of the KJ V bible and in every edition since!
With the acceptance of the word and people as Isralites, the meaning applied to jew became, 'a person descended from the tribe of Yahudah', which of course is a deception.

Jews have similar religious practises as the Y'sralites did because in the late 8th Century the Euro/Asiati khazars converted to the religion of the Pharisees.

If you have your DNA tested with the right organization (I had mine done around 20 years ago by Howard University's genetic lab, because it was a tax deductible donation) you will most likely discover that you're Mizrahi (North African Jewish) as a larger population of Louisiana Black Creole's are from that population. @moshe7019. If you do not read the Holy Scriptures you should not be spreading false tales regarding what or who is a Jew. A jew is a descendant of the tribe of Judah. Judah was one of Jacob’s twelve sons and Jacob is the son Isaac, the son of Abraham. Jacob’s name was later changed to Israel and his descendants are called Israelites. It is a bloodline, not a religion. However, The Most High God chose them as His people to who He gave the laws/commandments by which mankind should live. They are supposed to teach the gentiles these laws/commandments and therefore if the gentiles become believers and observe God’s laws, they will be grafted in among God’s chosen people but it will not make them bloodline Israelites.

It is quite refreshing to find videos such as this one. I'm a Capeverdean Sephardic Jew; whenever I tell someone in the US I'm a Jew, they seem surprised. Being Jewish is a RACE AND A FAITH. Anyone can be Jewish, if they have descendants or converted, or both.
I am Jewish partly by race, I do not practice but actually considered Jewish by race since my Grandmother was Jewish and taught Hebrew.
I asked a Rabbi if I was considered Jewish, he laughed , and told me I am by race. I love the faith, and the tree of life, it's a lifetime of continued studies and faithful commitment to become a practicing Jew.

It is impossible for you to be “ partly Jewish”. It is a legal status. Either you are a Jew or you are not a Jew. What you can parse is your ethnicity. And since Jewish ethnicity is non- existent you should find out the actual name of your ancestors ethnicity. It’s likely Ashkenazi as they tend to try to paint themselves as the prototype for Jewishness when they descend from converts

Biblical Hebrews according to the Abrahams covenant with GOD passed down to Issac, Jacobs and then Jacobs 12 sons have ALWAYS been black. We dont need to mix with white people (lol) or any other culture to obtain our birthright. We were BORN into it. I appreciate your look into this issue, and I like the way you explained the question you get asked. I actually found your video from asking a question about an anti white TikTok I saw which claimed Jews are actually black ( all of them) so I was trying to research to find out where people are getting this idea that black ppl were the original and only Jewish people which I don't understand as I know my Jewish family history pretty far back. These people are not inclusive talking about the rich history and collection of Jewish people but really just racist views spewed from anti white people who feel it's ok to say anything about one race that they'd never say about any other race. Unfortunately racism along with anti-semitism have become widely accepted. Those claims said in that way is really just anti-Semitic claims. When I was a kid in the 90s and 2000s really seemed we were really close to being largely past race issues for the most part not saying it didn't exist anywhere but those were great years for race relations especially comparing that time to now where all people want to do is talk about race, judge ppl based on race, teach your children to look at skin color. the media and especially with children and young people education is used to push the racial division. I think it goes back to divide and conquer. I really miss the days where it really seemed we were judging people based on merit. Sorry I know this is off topic for your video but that very racist video that made me do some research and find this. Hopefully we can learn to come together before it's too late. God bless.
I think since there has been so much conflict between races throughout time and the “superiority” of certain cultures or peoples over others has caused so much harm to the mentality of people. There’s a lot, I do my own research and I know we as Black Americans are indeed one of the tribes “lost”. We were writing cursive Hebrew before the modern day slave owners beat it out of us which is prophecy of Torah.. there are many historians that studied the lost tribes in america which a lot of Jewish Europeans studied and learn most of our practices from them because we still kept the high holy days etc. it’s really interesting how certain people destroyed history but luckily everything was documented.

Biblical Hebrews according to the Abrahams covenant with GOD passed down to Issac, Jacobs and then Jacobs 12 sons have ALWAYS been black. We dont need to mix with white people (lol) or any other culture to obtain our birthright. We were BORN into it. Most of todays Jews are descendants of people groups who converted to judaism hundreds of years ago. Biologically they aren't Hebrew and theres nothing wrong with that. Im not saying they are less then however a everything Ive stated has been proven by History, Ancient DNA analysis and the Bible.

Fascinating topic! I happen to feel the same way with indigenous peoples bloodline. I believe there’s more Americans with Native American in their background or even bloodlines connecting them to the ancient America. They may or may not know how to reconnect to their origins or like some Jews, they changed their names for fear of discrimination.
I wonder if you can "reconnect" to something where is no connection. At the end of the day it is just a gene pool, and genes have no connection to culture. Just as the original culture of indigenous people is forever lost as that way of life is not possible anymore. It's like saying a German should reconect to Odin and Freya as Christianity was forced upon the Saxon tribes back in the days. For what purpose should one reconnect I wonder. Maybe we should rather look into the future and derive meaning and purpose through our current and future actions rather than limiting ourselves to some story from the past that is irrelevant today.

It would be naive to pretend that Jews of color don't have a unique experience separate from what "white" jews experience. There are many jews around the world that don't fit into the mold of what Americans think of as Jews (ie Ashkenazi Jews). There are many religious and ritual differences between Middle Eastern jews and Eastern European Jews (google Sephardic Jews to learn more). Not fitting into that mold doesn't make them any more or less Jewish, but they still face prejudices and have different histories than "white" jews. Ignoring that reality doesn't do anyone any favors. Educating people on the differences without separating anyone from the tribe is a great way to create Jewish unity and elevate everyone's voice
