    I suspect that the reason it wouldn't parallel park is because vitually all the parked cars in that street were parked half on the pavement.

    I chuckled when he said I'll wait until I'm out of the 'construction zone.' You'll be waiting a few years to find a stretch of motorway with no roadworks in this country. Nice video though, thanks.

    Live just up the road from you in Newcastle. Keele is a couple of miles down the road but I doubt I would ever use those superchargers as I either head north from 16 or south at 15. Superchargers are coming to Trentham later in the year so useful for both of us. Subscribed.

    I really wish they had the option to just have the automatic Lane change - it would make a huge difference to my daily motorway commute to work ; but currently at its price, and with other features that I either don't need or don't work; it's just not worth it.

  • @no-oneman.4140
    @no-oneman.4140 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good video. I can't help but wonder what you actually gain by having any of this. It seems not only do you have to keep an eye on normal driving but you have to keep another eye on what the car is and is not doing, seems more stress than needed.

  • @douglasmartyn

    Agree with much of what you say but a couple of things you missed 1. if it’s asking you to change lanes but you don’t want too, simply touch the blue box on the screen where it is advising the lane change and it will cancel the request. 2 1 don’t think you noticed but with advanced auto-steer you can instruct lane changes by using using your indicator only and it will do it without cancelling auto steer. I find very frustrating when using ordinary auto steer you have to cancel out of it every time you change lane. 3. I agree the computer when in auto pilot wants to change lanes far too often that appears to be partly because the software is programmed to get you to your destination as quickly as possible so it overtakes cars going only slightly slower than you. I works best on quieter motorways and simply cancelling unwanted lane change requests by touching the blue box it does ‘learn’ not to suggest these lane changes.

    Thanks for the video - I enjoyed it. I’m considering ordering a LR and was deliberating whether to include enhanced AP. It sounds like it is worth holding off for the enhanced AP for the moment to see what they do with subscriptions and whether any improvements are made that justify the increased price. I wonder whether the reluctance of the car to move back to the left lane that you saw early in the video is related to the fact that the car thought the speed limit was 70 in that 50 section?

    if you don’t have NoA - just autopilot - can you tell it to change lanes and it’ll do it automatically? On motorways with basic AP thats the most annoying part, cancelling AP and having to reengage every time you change lanes (with lots of bongs)

      4:07 it nudges the freezer. Have a good look again. Also check TH-cam clips by Tesla Driver where his Model X managed to run into a fridge door. In our case, I've screwed rubber safety stops into the garage floor to prevent our Model 3 doing the same. Before that, it was consistently running into the bass cabs I have stored at the far end of the garage. We bought our Model 3 with Full Self Driving rather than Enhanced Autopilot. You'd expect it to be even better with FSD wouldn't you? To cap it all, Summon has recently given up driving the car into our garage. It'll still reverse the car out, but the app tends to stop and needs to be restarted two or three times to complete the process - making you wish you'd got in the driver's seat and driven it out yourself.

    What is the point when you have to use the turn signal and turn the steering wheel. If you turn too far, the autopilot thinks you want control and will be disabled. You might as well do it yourself.
    Also, the system recognizes speed signs (not always), but you have to activate the new speed on the screen. uhhh
    Constantly checking if everything is correct. Not really autopilot either. Way too many distractions on screen.
    I'd say, wait a little longer and spend some extra on FSD

  • @NickThompsonUK
    @NickThompsonUK 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I found it a bit annoying to keep a close eye on the lane change request and confirming it. Repeatedly nudging the steering wheel is not natural either. Auto park does a good job getting onto my driveway, but I've not had chance to try parallel parking. I would recommend autopilot only for dual carriageways and motorways. It insists on driving at 60 down narrow "unrestricted" roads and you constantly have to fiddle with the scroll wheel to set a safe speed for the current section.

      @RedRocketTesla  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I have to say I was disappointed in the lane decisions the car appeared to be making, it's worse than the dreaded Middle Lane Surfers that we dislike so much, just hogging the middle lane unnecessarily. Enhanced autopilot and self driving are an absolute scam. I can’t believe self parking is a paid feature when I had it for free on cars from 10 years ago.
    They need to be honest and just call autopilot “automatic cruise control with lane keep assist”. That’s all it is.

  • @sfiron

    A bit disappointed with the enhanced autopilot on my Y 2022 here in Israel. I would have allowed more smoother driver interventions like lane changes and lane off center moves without canceling completely. The is a lot of over confidence built into that system that is unrealistic in real life 😢
