  • Hatch Embroidery is a software suite for making and editing embroidery designs! I started using this suite about 5 years ago and haven't looked back! This is a tutorial for making a basic embroidery design from scratch based on some very profesh artwork of mine.
    You can grab a 30 day trial of Hatch here: hatchembroidery.com/
    Note: This is NOT an ad. I just really like the software. Seriously.
    Live Streaming on Twitch Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (9pm ET - 11pm ET)

      Thanks! Yes, the Summer months are chaotic for me. Couple that with work travel at the tail end of the Summer then catching Covid... uuuuugh :( NOW I'm moving cross country! Once I'm settled, it'll be a ton of content.

      It takes a while to really get the hang of it, but once you do, you can start ignoring all of those unwelcomed Instagram and Facebook messages from digitizers LOL

    I actually was wondering what that weird line thingy was when I was trying to buy an embroidery design today. I wasn't sure if they had digitized it like that and my embroidery would have one too if i purchased their design. In the end I didn't buy it because of that. Your video was helpful because now I know why it was there. I could not figure out how to look it up online, because I didn't know what to call it. I love your designated term!! I will probably buy embroidery software on the near future and it wss nice to see how Hatch works. Thanks for all the great videos!!

      I feel like there's a whooooole video to do just on pull compensation and fabric type considerations when making designs.

    hello im very new to embroidery and also hatch 3 i have a question that might be a common sense question lol if im using a 5x7 hoop how do i know if my artwork will be that size? i tried to but it in the hoop template but it shows a completely different size

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Select all (CTRL+A) then hold your mouse over one corner to see the dimensions. It needs to be just within 5x7!

    Do you by chance sell the download to this image file on Etsy so we can follow along with your tutorial? Or have a link to where you found it?

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, I don't sadly. It's just a quick file that I made to give a basic introduction to Hatch. If I put it up for download, it wouldn't help a lot opening it and trying to follow along as I create it throughout the video. Already having a finished copy of it wouldn't teach you much.

    The user interface looks really clunky scary. Reminds me of software written in the late 80's although the stitching/hatching algorithms are producing a much more impressive fast results. Can it leverage vector graphics to introduce all the boundaries and shapes?
    Most drafting programs can produce open and closed polylines that contain multiple definition points and mathematically defined curves (real time editing by dragging nodes). Assign widths to lines. Clip objects with other objects. And in the end export to a variety of formats like dwg/dxf/vwx/etc.

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes it does take vector graphics! I'm a software engineer by day (YT isn't my job), so I guess the interface seems quite tame in comparison to what I typically use to program. I have used Hatch, Viking's software, Brother's software, and Embird. Hatch has been the one that seemed the most intuitive to me. Viking's software required spiritual intervention, and old priest and a young priest, and some holy water for me to understand.

    • @lindeegoodall2426
      @lindeegoodall2426 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fiercekittenz LOL I totally agree about the Viking software! Before Hatch, I used Punto for 20 years, which had bezier vector tools like Adobe Illustrator. When they quit updating that a few years ago, I tried Hatch. Previously I had tried Embrilliance but I found the tools too weird. I didn't expect to like Hatch because I had to install Windows on my Mac for that, but I found it much easier to learn than Embrilliance. Other than the bezier tool, Hatch does way more than Punto at a fraction of $$$.

    Can you explain what Trueview is 😫is that how my final embroidery design will look like ?

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      TrueView is a digital estimate of what the stitching might look like. It’s not 100% accurate, but it’s pretty close!

    New to digitizing got an ricoma embroidery machine with the chroma software fron ricoma and wondering if hatch is more easier to understand

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm a touch biased here, because I've used Hatch for YEARS even before it was called "Hatch." I have access to Chroma, because I also have a Ricoma system (MT1501), but I haven't used it. I'm not sure how they would compare :(

    How do you make a hole that is irregularly shaped? Can I send you a Hatch file to see what I mean?

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah totally! I just go into digitize hole and draw out the area by plotting points just as I would for making an area. Once I’m done plotting the shape I hit enter and it makes the hole.

      Do you want to learn how to make it, or find a digitizer? I don't normally offer digitizing as a service, personally.
