Just wow. I didn't know that I have this in my neighborhood - 1 km from the german border? Need to make a trip to this place! The arch is incredible! It's a good thing that they preserve this place. Beautiful sunrise at the end and good job with the drone!

That's a big hole in the rock. The boat tour looked like fun. The waterfall looked like it was spraying up.

As local i would recommend visiting a Bohemian Switzerland National
park. The nature there is really beautifull and you can find stunning
views there. It's quite difficult to get there on your own but there but
there are great tours with locals on Airbnb (Airbnb experiences).
Can you advise how to get from Pague to the Bohemian Switzerland National Park? Can we get there on our own or with a local tour? Perhaps you you know a blog that can help us. We a group of us are planning a trip next year in April.

what’s the best way to go from prague to the bohemian switzerland national park (besides driving)?
Taking this tour
take Flixbus to Liberec and then Regionaltrain or Bus to Decin . its the whole Region between Dresden ( germany ) and Liberec. you can also take the Regiojet Bus from Prague to Dresden and then from Dresden you take Train S1 to Bad Schandau. you should visit it in may-september (summer weather). Right to Liberec is another place you should visit its called Riesengebirge. you need at least 1 week to explore all.

Děčín is a stop on EuroCity train route between Prague and Berlin. Then take the regional bus.

Been there last week.. it's really sad to see it completely burned down by the fires.. all the trees in het first part are completely gone.. only black coaled trees lying there.. :(

Why do you call it some kind of "Switzerland"? First: You have it all - no "Swissness" needed here at all. Second: Yes, there are places in Switzerland, which look very much alike. But seriously, I say it as a Swiss: You don't have to compare yourselves to Switzerland. Your country is beautiful enough - even more beautiful. "We" Europeans just have to be aware how rich this continent is - Czech Republic and Switzerland and all the other countries here (we even speak/understand English - if it has to be ;-)).
It's just historical name of that place, it has probably some reason.
Its a local name. This is quite non-typical landscape in Czechia, plus it has allways been scarcely populated because of the landscape.
And in the old days - this is how people (200-300 years ago) imagined the exotic country of Switzerland looks like (as they only think they knew about SUI was that its "all the mountains and rocks") :)
So they started to call the area 'Switzerland' in the old days;) Hence the name.
