  • My first day my Cruzbike S40 was built and ready to ride, I went to a parking lot to practice. This video discusses the build of the S40 and steps to riding. ‪@Cruzbike‬

    Hello, what is the weight of your S40 after upgrades? Many thanks and looking forward to see more in depth videos.

      With the Cruzbike Race Case which I added after this was shot (but without water bottle, tools, etc) it weighs in at 29lbs. Then with full water bottle and normal tools, spare batteries for bike and phone and such that adds about 5 lbs.

    i love these bikes but the principle of riding one in traffic in san francisco absolutely terrifies me

    Thank for the video 😊. Now that you’ve gad it for a while are you still loving it? Do you wish you had a rear shock? Thank you.

      I am afraid I have gotten behind on my videos. I have now ridden both bikes several hundred miles including on the Pan Ohio Hope Ride across Ohio. I couldn't be more pleased with both bikes and there will be more coming about them (hopefully soon).

    What motivated you to get the recumbent bicycle? Were you having any health issues? I'm experiencing lower back issues and the position you're in looks promising to me. Also, using road bars looks awkward to me, would you use straight bars with a MTB group?

      20 years ago I had my third close brush with serious injury when I once again imitated an artillery shell sailing headfirst over my handlebars at high speed. Recumbents just seemed to make a lot more sense: safer, far more comfortable, less drag. I have had (and mostly kept) many recumbents since then (we all have a weakness) and Cruzbikes are just my latest venture. I will probably make a video on all my various recumbents at some point after I finish the Cruzbike series. As for straight handlebars - not a good idea on a Cruzbike - because of "pedal steer" you need to engage your hands and arms to counter the pedaling (until you get really good) and this configuration gives you a nice secure place to hold onto for that - a straight bar would get very tiring on the wrists. For other types of recumbents, it may be a different story.

      For me I do not have health issues since 1996. I recumbent commute from Irvine to Disneyland.
      2024+ still in various Recumbents now retired at 65 y.o. still recommends recumbent that gives no pain, no health issues, no prescriptions drugs nor vitamins.
      Recumbents is like a Gospel that only a few could found.

    Nice Start!!! Did I see that correctly, you started up the hill in the big chainring?

    • @RowRideRun
      @RowRideRun  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, but as I said, it is only the steepest hill in the neighborhood - good start but need to find something more challenging.

    What part of Texas are you in? Looks a bit like north Dallas or mid cities due to the airplane in the background.

      I live mostly in Hurst, but also have a lake house out near Tyler so as I will cover in upcoming videos, a lot of my rides are out there. (my chance to try hills)

    a complete waste .not once was there mention of the difficulty of pedaling on the steering axis i.e. extreme pedal steer! new riders should never consider cruzbikes..I have an s40 by the way
