sir, i have designed a simulink model of MMC for capacitor voltage balancing . when i connect it to the grid as you uploaded, before connecting it works as natural multilevel converter, load current was same but after connecting it to grid, converter takes huge current from the grid. what may be the possible causes for that? thanks in advance.

If you select the phase shift as 2, the inverter voltage may not synchronize to the grid. Please check the Matlab function block codes. Did you convert degree to rad/s? If you select the sampling time as "-1", it will be equal to the base sampling time of simulation.

Hi. You should check somethings between grid and inverter output waveform. Especially three parameter important, phase angle should be equal, inverter and grid voltages should be equal and phase - neutral connections should be checked.

It's possible because when you transfer to power from inverter to grid, it should have a phase angle. Actually, it shows, your system transfer the current without reactive. Current direction should be opposite. It's normal.
I actually done every thing of this video and try to simulate in Matlab . the only problem is that inverter current and grid current are 180 shifted , not sharing load like videos . kindly help me if there any silly mistake ? Thanks in advance

Inverter type not important for main Power control structure. Only number of switch is changing and You should design your control strategy for phase shift and modulation index control.
by changing phase angle ,current phase is adjusting when parallel switch is zero ,but when we make parallel as 1 ,currents ig and i_inv both are looking like staircase ramp signals increasing in opposite directions continuously ,but if i put phase angle as zero, even in parallel 1 state(after conn grid) i am getting waveform magnitudes of grid load inv as you said at last in video please help me where i made mistake sir.

andrew greene, it is a single-phase grid-connected inverter. Thyristors are used as grid connection breakers.

Regarding the matlab function , scpit file path and your simulink model should be on the same path .
