You two are so fun to listen to, I like watches but this is the only watch channel I actually enjoy watching. I hope you're never asked to tone it down or be more "professional". Perfect balance of interesting and funny.
So glad Straum is getting more recognition. I impulse bought the Blue Opphav Damascus. Which was way more than I had ever spent on a watch. Absolutely in love with it.
Value for dollar hands down goes to Farer and Habring2. Bump it up a bit from Farer and I go for a Longines, then Grands Seiko, then Omega... after Omega you get into some nice independents such as Kudoke, Arnold & Son, Habring2, and Sartory.
Managing Money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times, while orders tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too.
I agree with you.A finance advisor can also provide you with objective and unbiased advice, especially when you are facing emotional or stressful situations. They can help you stay on track and avoid making an impulsive decisions that can harm your financial future.
They weren't lying. I grabbed a piece during their last fcfs internet drop and there was so much backlash they went to waitlist. I currently have reserved a July 2027 build slot for a second watch with a $400 deposit 🥴
Thank you so much! You have presented so many exceptional watches, quite a few of which I didn't know anything about. Some incredible movements and truly beautiful dials. Amazing!
I love my EPOS with VJ 7751, black dial, Onion Crown, Coin Bezel with Teardrop pushers, exhibition back, Triple Date, 24hour, Moon Phase with Flyback Chronograph. It runs about -10 seconds a month and I wear it daily.
Andrew, please could you review some of these 'high end' Citizen watches with the paper dials I have seen recently. Surely if Citizen feel they can charge £3000 for a watch it must be very special?
I don't think you can buy them in the UK but it's a global market so if you want one it's possible. Looks like the Japanese keep all the best stuff for themselves.
Thank you very much for this well thought of video. Made me discover new brands with spectacular visuals. I already own two of them, a Straum damascus blue dial and a Fears, Alliance 01. Because of you I will now have to spend hours on the internet to get acquainted with some of the watches you reviewed in this video. Keep on your excellent work.
Need to buy the wife a watch for her 50th and thinking of getting my daughter something for her 21st. Could you please do a couple of videos on ladies watches. Pricing ranges
I think an interesting topic for a video would be which watch brands should make a watch type they haven't yet done. For me it would be Nomos making a dive watch. I think their minimalistic approach would make a perfect daily wear diver.
Agreed, however, as far as they're concerned, they've already done that with the 300m Neomatik. It would be very cool if NOMOS made a diver, specifically.
@@dblh84 You are unfortunately right. I think if they even decided to do a separate watch line, it would have an inner rotating bezel like the JLC Polaris. But I still think a thin outside rotating bezel with a minimalist dial would be a match made in heaven.
Well, quite a lot rather unknown brands trying to get some profile by choosing fashion over elegance. And we know the long term effect when you buy your clothes that way, don't we? I'll stick with Tom waiting for a bio-ceramic Breguet maybe. Maybe not. 😉
Like the looks of some of the farer watches but the reviews or social media of there customers service is appalling which has put me off if purchasing one
What do you guys think of Alexander Shorokoff?. I like the looks of their "Peter Tchaikovsky" model. It has some really cool engraving, guilloche, and is also an alarm watch. Check it out if you are so minded. I've not heard you mention this brand before, but maybe I missed it. Despite the Russian name, they appear to be made in Germany.
13:03 They use Pinctada Maxima (which is a species of pearl oyster) for the mother of peael dial but those are abalone shells in the photo, which are gastropods (like snails), not a bivalves like (oysters).
@@luismasanchez9367 Not really, the colors might be similar but it's much different execution, plus I personally very much dislike the applied retro numbers on the Marlin. That being said, I've seen both in person and neither left an impression on me. The Oris version is definitely overpriced for what it offers, if nobody told you the price you wouldn't feel as if you're wearing an expensive-ish watch.
Lmao Tom just gave Straum their motto, "Grand Seiko, but evil".

You certainly know 'The Urban Gentry'? I'd say it's the one 'other' channel that's always a pleasure to watch. Cheers!
So glad Straum is getting more recognition. I impulse bought the Blue Opphav Damascus. Which was way more than I had ever spent on a watch. Absolutely in love with it.
Straum is amazing!
I got that one as well. I was so impressed with it I looked into investing in Straum. However, they weren't interested in investors at the time.
I bought the green Damascus. So amazing! If I’d had the $$ I’d have bought every color. All of the colors are gorgeous!
@@GrapedCrusader I got the newest model Glacial Rift, but my favourit is white

Thanks for presenting to us such exceptional watches!!
Wrist watch enthusiast would be happy coming across such video.
As a wrist watch collector, I'm currently seeking to have a larger share of my investment in luxury watches.
Any suggestions?

How did you find a good finance advisor? How do you know if they are trustworthy and competent.
Straum in red is incredible also seiko urushi killing it
The Seiko is a stunning design.
I'm a big fan of Anordain, but at the recent Wind Up Fair they mentioned their waitlist is now 3 years long
They need to expand.
They weren't lying. I grabbed a piece during their last fcfs internet drop and there was so much backlash they went to waitlist.
I currently have reserved a July 2027 build slot for a second watch with a $400 deposit 🥴
It's longer than that. I jumped in the wait list a year ago, and am not due for a watch until mid 2027
Time is money. For me that means they are way more than expensive than the price they ask for
I got a spot on the last run but didn't have the down payment to secure the spot- not because the watches cost but the damned tax on it
I'm the other person who loved the RATM reference. Brilliant job weaving in lyrics, too!
Best description of a watch ever:
"It's like a Grand Seiko but, like, evil".

Cool, thanks. I might as well put on the list the Raymond Weil open heart watches which resemble Tourbillons and are very nice in their own right 🙂
The grand seiko waves dial seemed like a thing until islander watch came out with it (possibly before hand?) on their northport diver.
wow….. there are some absolutely belting watches in the episode. Great job lads….. Keep up the sarcasm as it’s hilarious 🤣

Fears, anOrdain, and Sartory Billard make me drool. 🤤
Just started watching and wondering if Frederique Constant will be in this list. I bet there will be at least one Seiko!
High end and frederique constant doesn't correlate
@@nomansland120 Not as high end as a Seiko Presage then?
I genuinely did want to go for the lava Straum, but it is sold out, shame it looks MaD...
Farer rocher
The chocolate of ambassadors
Love it
I had a look at Atowak watches, thanks 2 ur video. I might go for the Windows model starting at £536. Thanks 4 ur informative videos.
You need to look at the Knot Urushi. Grand Seiko level case finish(close anyway) Urushi hand laquare dial for under $700. US. It is a steal.
Yeah, the Knot raden is from another world...
that Oris looks amazing...❤❤❤❤
I bought your book off audible NEW YORK DEEP. It was brilliant you are a talented young man many thanks 🍀🍀🍀🍀
Great video - and I've watched them all
That Oris is soo beautiful wow
That's Zach De la Rocha (of RATM)but love the off the cuff reference 😅
Love the RATM chide
Would love to hear what you guys think about the Sinn 556I Mother of pearl S
The Red Straum Jan Mayen Limited is x Fratello and is already sold out long time ago.
Aeowuk is bizzare to say the least

Xeric do an very similar automatic wandering hours watch for a third of the price of the one featured here.
Atowak sounds too much like "out of wack" for my preferences on what I hope to be a precise mechanical device. 😂😂

I’ll be waiting for the top 20 most edible watches 😋

Love that AnOrdain but personally I'd say that at £3.5K it's overpriced.
Bregeut > not a watch I would be interested in unless i had to choose between a Hublot and a Breguet........lolol
Love RATM Joke 👌
The Fears is pretty and all but at nearly £4000 with an ETA movement it's just a bit much.
Thank you for your continuous attention to ATOWAK. In 2024, we will bring more original and interesting watches. Stay tuned! 🔥

That Farer's Worldtimer design is very poor, as the 24-hr numerals are too far from the city rim. And it's nowhere near PP even in the looks.
I do not like any of these and put them in the Hublot Category except the grand Seiko that one is meh.
Sartory Billard, an incredilbly affordable watch? Really? How affordable? Under 1k? Under 100k? Just curious.
The Breguet was my pick. Still too much for my wallet..
same here, i LOVE that style. even at retail new you can get 4-5-? awesome pieces for the price of one other brand.
I would also recommend the Rolex Professional line of watches.
Offered two Daytonas in one life time. 😂
The white Straum makes me think Winter is coming every time I look at it.

Wow, I am shocked that there aren’t any of the This price is not cheap for me!! Type comment yet.

Casio Oceanus. Thank me later.

The finish on the Farer is terrible, you can literally see where the laser hit hardest on the letters on the outer dial.
could be intentional, bit retro
Zack de la Rocha………😑
Tom is a little off today.
The Straum is a Zelos ripoff ffs
What are your thoughts on CCCP watches? Are they a good purchase?
