This piece is performed by Dimash repeatedly and it's a vehicle for improvisation, it's also called Ascolta la Voce, or Vocalise, I love all versions because they are all different. Possibly the best is Vocalise from Arnau Kiev concert, it's magical! Sort of jungle vibes, it's extraordinary.. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa
You probably heard the vocalize version of the song, another master piece.
The Duduk at the beginning (intro) is considered the Armenian national instrument, is one of the oldest instruments of mankind and, with its music, was declared an intangible UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
The Duduk has been playing in today's Armenia and the Caucasus for over 1500 years. The Duduk is a woodwind instrument made of apricot wood (short oboe) with an extremely large double reed that is up to ten centimeters long and up to three centimeters wide.
The Duduk makes a thoughtful and melancholy sound. The soft tones emanate a magic that casts its spell over and over again. The unique sound of the Duduk has now fascinated the whole world.
The legend of Duduk:
The young wind began to play with a beautiful tree on the mountain, wonderful sounds flew over the mountains. The prince of the winds was annoyed by this and caused a great storm to rise. The young wind tried to defend his tree, but his strength was not strong enough. He fell at the feet of the prince of the winds and asked him not to destroy the beauty. He agreed, but at the same time punished him: 'If you leave the tree, it will be destroyed'. Time passed, the young wind got bored and rose once into the sky.
The tree died, leaving only a branch that was hit by a gust of wind. A young man found this branch and cut a pipe from it. But the voice of that pipe was sad. Since then the duduk has been played in Armenia: at weddings, funerals, in war and in peace.
You have heard this before. It's known as "Знай (vocalise)", where he's sitting on the stage doing riffs and runs. 😄

Correction theres no such thing as "best singer" thats a subjective statement because everyone has their own taste in music/artist. i would change it to BEST VOCALIST of all time because vocals we can measured and on paper nobody comes even close to Dimash his in a league of his own.

This piece was originally written for Lara Fabian and then later adapted to Dimash. All by Maestro Igor Krutoy. Dimash does the vocalizations. In most of the compositions, Maestro Krutoy leaves space for Dimash to freely improvise whatever he wants. What a beautiful understanding they have between each other

Thank you for your reaction. If I had to choose only one song to listen to, it would be this one. In all versions: concert, video, vocalise... I listened to it hundreds and hundreds times, and every time, it is like an uppercut in my soul. You did a reaction to the vocalization version of this song (concert in Kyiv 2020), usually you need to listen to them together, both are amazing. Dimash's improvisations with his fantasies are the same as himself - phenomenal. It is amazing that all the best qualities are combined in one person - a brilliant singer, composer, musician, actor, mind, phenomenal memory (just try to remember the words of songs in 12-15 languages), humanity, humor, respect for elders, justice, playing sports ... And not being narcissistic at the same time. It is a gift of fate to live with him at the same time. You didn't seem to react to the song 'Crown'. I also recommend listening to his singing at the age of 14 - 'Cry of the Crane', 'Jamaica'...

One thing about Dimash's performance makes it so georgous is not just about his voice and artistry but also his showmanship, the way he express the song with movements and facial expression, he is one if not the greatest singer of his age in Asia.

He's actually usually doing vocal improvisations here. Kazakhs have a linguistic yodel-like noise (i.e. natural to the Kazakh tongue) and he uses it to perfection in this song.

I loved your reaction! I listened to this song (along with quite a few of Dimash's other songs) several times today while I was doing chores, but it made it feel fresh to watch your reaction. Just so you know, New Wave is a vocal competition for young singers held annually in Sochi, Russia, not a tour. Dimash served as a member of the jury and performed three times at the New Wave vocal competition this past summer. He has performed every year (except 2020, when it was cancelled) at New Wave since 2018, not in small part because Igor Krutoy is a primary patron of the competition. Dimash and Igor usually premiere at least one piece together at New Wave.
His scat singing sounds a lot to me like a mix of Ella Fitzgerald's style and that of Middle East or Central Asian vocalizing. I'm betting he encountered both in his intensive study of music theory.

The melody from Know is the basis/the same as Vocalize (pretty sure you’ve reacted to Vocalize before?). I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video and I’ve always been so distracted by Dimash that I’ve never noticed the woman coming out of the glass! Don’t get me wrong, I vaguely noticed her flying around, but never noticed the transition. I really want to see Dimash’s concert live and in person.

He does different versionS of this song!! There is one where he has no words just vocalizing.
The vocalise part is half-improvised. There are elements that you hear in all of the many different versions, but it is changed up a bit every time.
Dimash often sings a fully vocalized version of Know without any lyrics, only that freestyle scatting. The most popular video of the vocalise version is from a concert in Kiev in March 2020, right at the beginning of the pandemic. It is magically mesmerising.
