@@ArnieOcfemia Eh, not so much. The previous Timelines' Harumi is... well, a different person. As are the previous Hanzos. They do mention a lot that Hanzo is full of rage, so something like the Lin Kuei killing his family might still be a thing.
@@BrownHairL "Harumi is well....a different person" won't matter in the eyes of Scorpion (not MK1 Scorpion). There is an ending where he saw MK1 Kuai Liang marrying Harumi. The Harumi's may be "completely different people" but such statement does not matter for Hanzo.
Since it's been so long since I've played through MK9's story, I completely missed the "He is a hero, though he may not yet know it" line being a callback. They really went for the references to old MKs in this game, despite the new timeline, and I respect that.
Seeing how far liu kang has come from earthrealm's champion to the god of fire that created his new timeline. And seeing how no matter timeline it is, johnny cage always carries the show. God i love mortal Kombat 💯
lue kang as the protector: there is a tournament you will fight in it to protect us but you will not die and i will not leave you without training Raiden as the protector: whew blood go brrrr
In Raiden’s defense he was only going based off the tournament’s rules already established by the Elder Gods. He had no power to change the rules of Mortal Kombat, if he attempted to do so would cause the Elder Gods to take away his powers and make him mortal again, easily allowing Shao Kahn to enter Earthrealm uncontested. Liu Kang in the other hand had the full power of a titan to create an entire universe timeline and he can create the rules of anything uncontested because there are no beings higher than him that can challenge him(minus other titans from other timelines).
@@Unchainedful now Raiden is titan, I don't think he doesn't give a fuck about elder gods rules, so probably he won't let no one died in his hand anymore
Because New Era Kitana is Lui Kang design based on his original Kitana. She may look and have the same heart of the original Kitana, but she is just a copy, not the original you ended up growing up a relationship with😢.
I mean, he has his Kitana, and entering a relationship with New Era Kitana would be fucked up on so many levels. Honestly, I think he may have set things up for Raiden to get with Kitana.
There is a reason he said to Kitana in one of the pre-battle intros that why he and Titan Kitana are close is gonna be shrouded in mistery. He does not want her to feel somehow "obligated" to follow him.
I think the idea of doing an alt universe where characters have different relationships and roles is awesome, I really like how they handled it. So many interesting characters to pull from and throw in different scenarios. I wonder if alt universes for older IPs will catch on in other media and games. If its done right I wouldn't be against mixing things up.

Tbh, he wasnt bad. Liu Kang was getting way too bent out of shape against Johnny being a dickrider and all. Johnny was right, he was an actor. He might have trained himself in martial arts, but his reaction to everything is understandable.
Johnny is a goofball, but even he knows when to take things seriously. Him saying he is just an actor, and if the world really was in danger to call the military? It is a 100% sensible thing for a civilian to say, and the most senseful thing to say.
Love how no matter how crude or impolite Johnny could be, he still have his heart at the right place. Willing to step up when things really counts. I really wanna see him and MK11 Johnny interact.
I've never been a Mortal Kombat guy so take this opinion with a grain of salt, but I feel like they struck a good balance of asshole to having a heart of gold with this version. I like this guy.
Everyone is saying Cage is mature but so has Liu Kang. This is the same Liu Kang from MK9, he saw firsthand that although a goofball Cage played a pivotal role in saving Earthrealm. In this timeline, he summoned fire to convince Cage none of this was an act unlike before where Raiden dropped the exposition and it didn't work because he knew Cage was brash and would need practical convincing. Also since this Johnny Cage trained in martial arts for movies and later trained with the Shaolin, he is much stronger than the previous one. Liu Kang knew exactly how to prepare Earthrealm Champions for Mortal Kombat. He wasn't about to throw them into the ring without proper training and guidance.
Liu Kang has some fucking memory. He remembered a sentence that Raiden said that, for him, was EONS ago. I can’t even remember what I had for lunch the day before.
As the story goes on, we can see how Liu Kang learns to be resilient and compassionate with Johnny Cage. At least, in the new timeline they both have a better relationship with each other!
Johnny Cage and Furina are the reasons why I think most that the most professional actors are truly the most sucessful psychopaths of all. one able to act as a god to the point of nearly looking or having the power of exactly one.
Liu kang should have think on how to approach Johnny cage without escalating to a fight since he already met him and Johnny didn't even listen when they first met
Johnny Cage looks like Van Damme in MK9. Raiden looks like MK annihilation Raiden. 😂 Well, Liu Kang MK9 and MK1 have the same jawline and some facial feature.
The original idea for Mortal Kombat came from Ed Boon wanting to make a game starring Van Damme saving the world in a deadly tournament. But since Van Damme refused, they changed the ideas of his character to Jonny Cage. In fact, Van Damme's agents again rejected Ed Boon from having a Skin in MK9. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that MK1 was release that we finally got the skin that Ed Boon wanted so much LMAO. And it makes sense that he persisted so much, at the end of the day we wouldn't have MK if Van Damme hadn't existed.
I love his reaction to seeing a martial artist and two ninjas waiting at the door after he (presumably) called the cops. Just the most normal response possible.
0:32 "They will taste your flesh." Johnny could've followed up with "And my fist with taste your balls." Which actually ended up happening a few seconds later.
5:30 I actually love the tiny detail that Bi-Han gave a tiny bow of deference to Liu Kang when he said "Enough!". This is at a phase when he's not quite influenced enough by Shang Tsung to become more defiant. He's still bold and arrogant, but he still knows his place. You can even see at 5:35 that Bi-Han is still looking down and biting his lips in shame, as though he recognizes that he's stepped over the line.

5:28 Someone already said this, but notice when Liu Kang unleashed his fire, Scorpion and Johnny backed out, out of fear or surprise, but Subzero didn't, as he respects and bows to Liu Kang, in terms of *power* and not character.
It shows you who Subzero really is. Oh, and this is MK11 Noob Saibot: The First Subzero.
Mmhmm, and the Scorpion in this timeline is his younger brother, the future Sub Zero, since assumedly Liu Kang merged the Lin Kuei and the Shirai Ryu together when rebuilding the timeline, never having Hanzo die to Bi Han
@@TheDualGamers1000 Kinda messed up for Hanzo because in Smoke's Ending (idk where you get the ending specifically), Hanzo's a teenager and the First Initiate of the Shirai Ryu.
Meaning, he's the sort-of Adopted Son of Hirumi (Hirumi was his slain wife before the timeline reset). Also messed up because Kuai Liang (Future Subzero) is husband to Hirumi.
@@ArnieOcfemia Eh, not so much. The previous Timelines' Harumi is... well, a different person. As are the previous Hanzos. That probably means Satoshi won't be part of this timeline, or at least it will be Hanzo's son with somebody else.
He was full of rage seeing this, to the point of attempting to destroying the entire timeline, considering he saw his Harumi's of many timelines drying again and again.
Saw this comment the second i saw the scene and yeah perfect touch
What's even crazier is the fact that the Liu Kang in MK9 is the same one that's in the rebooted MK1.
Thats one thing thats cool about NRS, they are not shy of mentioning the older stuff
The back to the future referece was awesome." Hey you get your damn hands off of him"
Yo Jax that you? Watch out for your arms, they tend to come off quite often for you apparently.
@@Unchainedful hahaha
“What in the actual fu-“. The delivery of that line could not be more perfect.
I really love how the role switch from 2:33 to 8:24
Good observation!
Seeing how far liu kang has come from earthrealm's champion to the god of fire that created his new timeline. And seeing how no matter timeline it is, johnny cage always carries the show. God i love mortal Kombat
💯
lue kang as the protector: there is a tournament you will fight in it to protect us but you will not die and i will not leave you without training
Raiden as the protector: whew blood go brrrr
Gotta admire Liu Kang's composure seeing Johhny Cage hitting on his long love interest
It's cause he knows it isn't his Kitanna
Because New Era Kitana is Lui Kang design based on his original Kitana. She may look and have the same heart of the original Kitana, but she is just a copy, not the original you ended up growing up a relationship with😢.
He probably knows Sonya is his (Johnny’s) true love and that Sonya might not be far behind (maybe she’ll be a character in MK2).
We don't deserve Johnny Cage
But we need him!
Why we don’t need Johnny?
we do need johnny
@idantavor4359 I was saying We don't deserve Johnny is because he is beyond hilarious he's the real star of Mortal Kombat
@@KenRising1996 oh ok
5:28 I think Lui's "ENOUGH" is a kind of easter egg too. Christopher Lambert's Raiden had the same line on the ship in the beginning.
Raiden also says the same thing to Johnny and Jax when they're fighting in Outworld.
Rentner, allgemeine Sammlung!!
Meanwhile Kenshi was just sitting tied up in that chair watching Johnny fight Sub Zero going "Man, this shit is FIRE!""
This johnny cage is goated, bro even almost rizzed up kitana
I bet Johnny went guts deep inside her after the festival was over behind a wall. 10 seconds of having the pleasures of a prince and came king
i love how they switched the roles when they said “what do you see in him” “he is a hero, though he may not yet know it” ☠️
Raiden: don't say it, don't fuckin say it!
Liu Kang: I must cosult with the Elder Gods
Raiden: God damn it!
1:32
Johnny cage: nice hat 😀
Liu kang: WHAT 🗣️
He literally complimented his hat and liu kang says he's being disrespectful wth
Liu kang voice actor has played his part to perfection..the comic sarcasm, empathy and switch to damn serious tone when things heat up...
0:06 "I'm taking you down, I'm taking you down, I'm taking you out, I'm taking you out, and I'm taking you out...for dinner."amazing line for Johnny Cage after talking to Sonya and the other!
Smooth too
The "What in the actual fu..." from Johnny is the funniest shit ever XD
Bi Hans voice actor had such an amazing job done in the game. Truly gets you to see how much anger he has
These two met in MK 9 and the remake is a lot different than the one I watched in the Mortal Kombat Legends animated movie
I only noticed this now, but Johnny Cage says the "Dun Dun Dunnn" both times when he meets Liu Kang.
5:15 "And scene" He's probably know he's on the game when he done with the fighting then going to the scene💀
12 years ago, holy shit we are getting old.
That "ENOUGH!!" looks amazing
Liu Kang to Raiden in Mortal Kombat 9: "What do you see in him?"
Raiden: "He's a hero, Liu Kang. Though he may not know it"
Raiden to Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1: "What do you see in him?"
Liu Kang: "He's a hero, Raiden. Though he may not know it".
@@Sephiroth08150 ikr.
Love how no matter how crude or impolite Johnny could be, he still have his heart at the right place. Willing to step up when things really counts. I really wanna see him and MK11 Johnny interact.
I’ll always love Johnny’s ability to mature over time
2011: Don't know what kind of roleplaying you guys are into, but count me out...
2023: What in the actual F-
I guess, he didn't notice the magical sh*t.
I've never been a Mortal Kombat guy so take this opinion with a grain of salt, but I feel like they struck a good balance of asshole to having a heart of gold with this version. I like this guy.
"Finish him"😂😂😂 He probably had flashbacks in he's early years of he's acting career
That's only Mk9 Johnny. A Few Years Later Johnny Trained with Special Forces and Was Also stronger than Mk9 Johnny as Well
@4:42 that is surely a Back To The Future reference
0:36 Baraka: JJJooohhhhhnnnnyyyyyyy……………………… YOU REALLY GONNA DO ME LIKE THAT JOHNNY!!!
Dashie reference I like it
2:57 What in the actual fu-
My reaction to your pfp
Good Evening, Johnny Cage ⚪_⚪
“He is a hero… although he may not know it” nice call back from mk9 said again in mk1
Liu Kang has some fucking memory. He remembered a sentence that Raiden said that, for him, was EONS ago. I can’t even remember what I had for lunch the day before.
I like how realistic the facial expressions and animation is in the newer MK.
Its like the dudes acting himself
7:13 Notice Johnny taking video at the background....
Mk1 cage really grew through the story. He was made a much more likable character than any other version.
2:37 Liu Kangs' face gets me rolling everytime LMFAO
6:16 Tfw your headphones run out of battery and you have to listen to the song playing in the gym
I love how they make references to mk9 and mk11.
“I’m SO pretty” still kills me 💀😂😂

I love how liu kang says the same line as raiden is such a fine touch
I'm so happy everyone in MK1 who was a good guy got a good ending
It's the Mk we deserved

2:56 I've laughed so hard from this cutscene, it is so meme-worthy
You know you love johnny as he swipe his phone creating a documentary
HE IS A HERO, though he may not yet know it!!!!! Luv that comment
4:43 this is a reference to back to the future where Marty’s dad stands up to Biff 😂
I love when Johnny Cage discovers the universe for the first time. It’s always hilarious 😂
I don't know if this is kinda of a detail, but here you can see a foreshadowing of bi-han going on a dark path. 3:06
0:19 Yeesh. With that kind of long jump, you'd think he'd use more kick attacks.
Liu kang should have think on how to approach Johnny cage without escalating to a fight since he already met him and Johnny didn't even listen when they first met
Johnny Cage looks like Van Damme in MK9.
Raiden looks like MK annihilation Raiden. 😂
Well, Liu Kang MK9 and MK1 have the same jawline and some facial feature.
Ironically he has a Van Damme skin and voice in MK1
The original idea for Mortal Kombat came from Ed Boon wanting to make a game starring Van Damme saving the world in a deadly tournament. But since Van Damme refused, they changed the ideas of his character to Jonny Cage.
In fact, Van Damme's agents again rejected Ed Boon from having a Skin in MK9. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that MK1 was release that we finally got the skin that Ed Boon wanted so much LMAO.
And it makes sense that he persisted so much, at the end of the day we wouldn't have MK if Van Damme hadn't existed.
I like how Lui Kang turns to the camera and winks after he says it.
Liu Kang is just everyone's very patient and supportive dad
I love his reaction to seeing a martial artist and two ninjas waiting at the door after he (presumably) called the cops. Just the most normal response possible.
I love how liu rings the doorbell when showing up to johnnys house. While conrpaed to raiden hed just teleport in and yell at you lmao
I love this Johnny cage. Honestly one of my favorites from the entire series
Johnny Cage says
2:16 Dun Dun Dunnn!
4:07 (dramatic) Dun, Dun, Dunnn.
6:36 *sound of wood being hit* now that deep
I love when Liu Kang says “because I am the god of fire”
What was up with Johnny Cage looking at Scorpion, Quan Chi, Sub-Zero & Cyrax around 1:01-1:07?...
what the hell, i had no idea this games story was this in-depth. im gonna have to give this a play

0:32 "They will taste your flesh."
Johnny could've followed up with "And my fist with taste your balls." Which actually ended up happening a few seconds later.
8:27 HE SAID iT, HE SAIT THAT
2:12 Realistic reaction. How we all reacted.
Its like that one favorite history teacher shouting at the class
