hey, it's fromsoftserve back with more wonky modding shenanigans! am I crazy for adding pointlights to each of these candle things? Probably. But I'm okay with that lol
i think its nice, its not overdone and makes plenty of sense. I like these little changes and cant wait to see the "finished"project with all the little edits like this all together.
@fromsoftserve One request for Remaster Project - to have upscaled textures be toggleable please. So there's an option for people who like all vanilla assets.
I definitely wouldn't add lights in places where there are purposefully none. You are correct to assume that leaving certain street lamps off is an artistic choice, but it's also a level design choice as well. Just as cinematographers paint with light, so too do level designers. Lights can be used to draw the attention of the player towards specific areas of interest. You can be sure that if a light exists in the world, it was put there for a reason. (Adding tiny point lights to candles is fine, since that source of light already exists.) This would be why you would simply run past some messenger lanterns in your playthroughs before the lighting fixes. The light was missing, and thus there was no way for the game to grab your attention towards them. Aside from the level design aspect, light can also be used thematically to express specific moods. I've commented this once before on a previous video. If you were to enable the lights of every single lamp that is intentionally disabled, Yahar'gul would feel much more alive, which would directly contrast the decrepit state of the rest of the town.
I agree BUT you're forgetting the most important aspect about calling attention to stuff. It's not just the lights. It's contrast. You see a very well lit cliffside, but see a deep, dark cave in it. Your attention gets immediately drawn to it as well. You absolutely CAN add more lights, but keep in mind the contrast agains the rest of the environment. If its value (brightness) or its color don't stand against the background, then there's no contrast and you can safely do it without killing to much of the original intent. You just got to make sure contrast is mantained in the places that matter, specifically things that SHOULD draw the player's attention, like in Nightmare Frontier that could be the side cave system, or Patches's glowing stone and item trails.
Yeah, gonna disagree here. Remember how poorly this ran on the PS4, many objects which should have lights likely dont for performance reasons. Look at Elden Ring, pretty much everything you'd expect to cast lights does, because its on better hardware and they can afford to do so.
It reminds me of the use of the Chiaroscuro (chiaro=light, scuro=dark) technique in art, which achieves through the use of light and shadow this draw of the viewers focus, raises emotional impact through strong contrast on people and objects, establishes or alters mood and atmosphere, and gives spaces a greater depth and dimensionality than they would have otherwise. Aka: Rembrandt, Da Vinci.
This look way better with the point lights ! Great job ! Please don't burn yourself out, have fun, learn about the game and continue to enjoy tinkering with it. Don't push yourself too hard.
For the first time I had the chance to play bloodborne freely. Before this I always played on borrowed ps4s or shitty screens. And now best experince. After playing every single fromsoft title I must say bloodborne is unique.
I'd wish ShadPS4 had a mod system where you could put the modded files in a folder and it would use them instead of the game's files, so you don't have to modify and backup the original game folders and files.
I literally just want updated textures my mans. But you take your time, i know with the emulator in such a state of flux that's likely hard as fuck to make in a bug preventative way lol. Doing God's work! Thank you!
Hi fromsoftserve, thanks for your amazing work so far! I would like to ask, when is going to be Remastered 4K ? Cause at this time, i'll like to wait for it :) thanks

It's insanely unoptimized so if anyone is tempted to download the mod, think again and let him development it a little more. Right now it's insanely laggy and has multiple memory leaks
Hey can you remaster your smoke alarm? Basically if you put new batteries in it, (the things that power irl point lights) it'll stop beeping. It has no performance cost.
Doing the work Sony refuses to do, as always lol. Can't wait to experience the game for the first time, preferably with all your mods slapped on top :). Hope you'll make a video that basically announces it once Bloodborne reaches a perfectly playable state. I don't trust all of these clickbait TH-camrs that act as if the game is running perfectly already.
You're doing an outstanding job with this! As soon as it is compatible with a stable version of shadPS4 that can push 4K/60fps, I'm downloading this. No question. I'm at work now, but I'll donate to you, too! I'd rather give my money to fine folk like you rather than Sony who has completely abandoned this absolute masterpiece that we all love so much.
I have a question please, I haven't touched DS2SOTFS in years and decided to do another run, would you suggest just play the Seeker of Fire mod or wait a bit more for your new Bearer of the curse mod to be finished?
I like the lights on the candles, but I feel like the candles stand out too much against the background. Almost seem like they're floatin an inch or so above ground, if that makes any sense.
Is there a fix for the vertex explosions coming soon? The game runs so well now compared to 3 weeks ago, less crashes, better fps, fixed lighting it actually feels good to play now. But those vertex explosions are the last annoying thing left
Hey guys, so, ignoring crashes, maybe memory leaks and optimization relating to performance, is there anything still missing from the emulator being able to emulate?
i would love for the "remaster" to have view distance, render distance and so on increased alot. i dont ever want to see something "spawn" into the game. like the enemy that throws a stone. you run back into the cave and we see shadows "appear" can this be done?
I got shadps4 but for me, the emulator doesn't even open the GUI (yes I did downloaded the qt version) It just creates a settings folder and nothing happens
will the game look exactly the same as the ps4 version? because i think all these manual graphical fixes might make it look different from the original which is bad.

You get a pointlight! And you get a pointlight! Everybody gets a pointlight!
Nothing wrong with being a stickler for lighting and shadow accuracy :)

@@PainKiller100500 so luckily that’s not an issue since the upgraded textures are a separate download. So in this case you can just not download them!

Couldn't have said it any better if I tried
I guarantee if the game got a Remaster they would be casting a light source

Early for once! Can't wait to see how this turns out!!
I believe next year we will see the 1.0 BB remastered, with like 12.000 new light sources
God hopefully not, the game is supposed to be dark.
This @@NielsGx
Remember PPL, if you get BB remake or remaster from Sony at some point --> YOUR GRATITUDE GOES TO THIS GUY & ShadPS4 CREW !!!!!!!!
For the first time I had the chance to play bloodborne freely. Before this I always played on borrowed ps4s or shitty screens.
And now best experince. After playing every single fromsoft title I must say bloodborne is unique.
I really appreciate your attention to details and can't wait to see the final version of your remaster project.
I'd wish ShadPS4 had a mod system where you could put the modded files in a folder and it would use them instead of the game's files, so you don't have to modify and backup the original game folders and files.
Yeah that is always my issue with mods honestly
Generic Mod Enabler solves this 🙏
Good effort bro .. looking to see the full version soon 👍🏻👍🏻

Omg, you edited the game WHILE ITS STILL ON, Thats HUGE
W dev huge respect for you bro. Wouldve donated if i had money

Hahaha you don't want much.
i love it! Candles with no "light" is weird and goofy.
Just here to support
If more than 4 pointlights overlap, it can cause huge perf issues
and in any game engine basically
at least the ones casting shadows

5:07 could always go through and remove those where sunlight makes them not noticable.
One could argue that if a point light is missing from a lantern you could instead remove the light bulb and make it consistent
I agree with candles though! They should obviously produce some light :)
It's insanely unoptimized so if anyone is tempted to download the mod, think again and let him development it a little more. Right now it's insanely laggy and has multiple memory leaks
I cant wait for people to remaster this game on pc making it better than the PS4 version
Doubt it's coming out on pc anytime soon.
@@notreallyhim The emulator on PC is already running it better than on Playstations lol

Hello everyone, this is your daily dose of Bloodbornet
Looks so rad. Big impact.
Shouldn't this be labeled Fan Remaster
hey your remastered modding is amazing keep up the good work, I would just like to ask what are your PC specs?
6:55 This happens to me all the time, I've tried all the existing mods
Damn! Could you do this for the Chalice Dungeons???
The Dungeons need a lot of love! Even though their my favorite part of Bloodborne
Ahh, holy sermon friday..

Is there a fix for the vertex explosions coming soon? The game runs so well now compared to 3 weeks ago, less crashes, better fps, fixed lighting it actually feels good to play now. But those vertex explosions are the last annoying thing left
there should be an option to turn off motion gesturing.
Hey guys, so, ignoring crashes, maybe memory leaks and optimization relating to performance, is there anything still missing from the emulator being able to emulate?
How beast of a rigg do you need to run this properly
I noticed the same thing in DS3, at higher light settings certain fixed lights render from a further distance, looks off when you notice it
i have insane memory leak i have rx5700 and i5 10400 f...sadly thats my only issue
Your TH-cam channel description hasn't been updated to include Bloodborne just in case you cared.
Real question: do chalice dungeons work in the emulator and can we inject more variety into them?
where do u download this bloodborne for pc and what are the requirements?
"short" = 21 minutes
i would love for the "remaster" to have view distance, render distance and so on increased alot. i dont ever want to see something "spawn" into the game.

Please add the UE5 megalights to this game 😅
When I get hit it crashes the same way
Man… I wish you worked at Fromsoft and actually had this made completely official.
can't do anything without Sony consent tho
Finish your other mods first bruh 🤣
Nope. Will never be the OG.
