    I really didn't like Shaw when he first came onto the scene but he's grown on me a lot. I like his celebration here. You can tell it's more of a relief than joy at first, which is a relatable thing to see. He was definitely feeling the pressure and pulled through. No cue slamming, no jumping on the table. Plus he might be the most entertaining player to watch right now. Just absolutely fearless. He's like a gunslinger version of SVB.

      @benlou3758 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the rules at the international 9 ball open, 9 on the spot and you can only break from inside the box. It's meant to change up the break and present a different challenge to the players. If you watched the tournament, a lot of pros scratch from the break on the side and lose because of it. Max Lechner really had it down and ran a 7 8 pack against Shane and that's why he was in the finals. It's nice to see something different.

    29:17, that shot was clearly after the timer went to 0. Shouldn't it be a foul?

    • @AccuStats
      @AccuStats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As long as the player is "addressing" the cue ball, it is not a foul when the timer goes to 00. And no one takes advantage of the obvious. If the player gets off the shot or starts looking around, then it's a foul.

      It's a foul, look how the 7 ball moved. If it hit the 3 first the 7 would go downwards and not to the side. It's easier to tell if it's a foul from the movement of the balls than from looking at the actual point of contact. And trust me, nobody is going to call a foul on themselves in the finals of a tournament unless they are 100% sure it's a foul.

    is it just me or at 42:43 he hits the 3 ball first, which was not a foul cause he pocketed the 5? play it at 0.25 speed. The rule is if both are hit at the same time then its not a foul anyways.

    I've seen two kicks now where the cue ball hits two balls at the same time. Both times now, it's been called a bad hit or foul. Is this the current rule, ties don't go to the winner? Also, why do the two commentators keep predicting shots and trying to guess how and where either player will shoot BEFORE they shoot them like, "I think he might bank it, how many rails will he go to get there, I don't think he will jump this, he might just play this (the 1-ball) cross-side for self preservation followed by, nope he played it down table." and so on. Then Danny says, “Jason might make this with a little left hand spin, but he hasn’t decided yet - oh, now he’s going to kick the short rail.” Then both commentators say “nice shot” after Jason shoots and nothing is explained why it was a nice shot. Is this commentating the way it’s supposed to be? If both Danny and his co-commentator would just quite guessing and make their comments AFTER a player shoots, there would be a lot less chatter and more commentating the correct way.

    Here's the pivotal point of winner break 9 ball where Jason made the mistake of poor shape on the 5 ball leaving a difficult cut into the corner pocket as the shot of choice for shape on the 6 ball. Then he shot the 5 rather fast, not taking his time and missed by a millimeter hanging up the ball. Lechner then ran out and we will see how many more racks from this one mistake. Again, this is an excellent example of where the pivotal point is in this game, these small, but costly mistakes which make all the difference. By the way, it's NOT the same in alternate break which I don't think is true 9 ball, at least it's not traditional 9 ball.
    Well, he wasn't able to make a run because of the non-compliant break he had. I see the name was changed from illegal break which I thought was a bad name. My understanding Corey Duel is responsible for the compliant break, but the gravity of soft breaks I think is taken too seriously. Maybe I don't understand something about them, but I don't see their problem. In any event, instead of taking away a players turn in a professional pool match over something akin to Las Vegas gambling (in other words, a player has no more control over it than throwing a pair of dice), why not just not allow soft breaks to be judged by the referee or by the speed of the break ball which my understanding is measured anyway?
    The referee called a foul when he ruled Max hit the 7 ball first before the 3 ball, but if you look at it from TH-cam's perspective, it looks like the 3 ball was hit first or it was hit at the same time the 7 ball was hit. I think the referee made a mistake giving the rack back to Jayson.

    Danny and his co-commentator says Jason is the straightest shooter they have ever seen, then Danny says Jason feels Joshua Filler shoots straighter than he does. I disagree with all of them, Jason and Joshua do shoot good, but Earl Strickland shoots better. In fact, in one match I saw, Earl just smoke Joshua. Everyone has good and bad days, but on the good days Earl beats all of them including SVB.
