Great stuff! Suggestion/request for a TH-cam channel playlist: Educational / improvement resources (or something like that)
I love the “new player friendly playlist” and I think a playlist similar to that one that just has all of the educational/improvement resource videos in there would be amazing. Or, create playlists for intermediate and advanced player resources like the new player one.
For example: there’s no playlist that I could find that has the “How to make a proper unit transition”, “What to do after Feudal”, and “What to do depending on Castle Age timing” videos, and I consider those videos, along with some of the other guides/concept videos released around that time, to be some of the best and most valuable guides and resources for improvement in existence. I think it’d be great to make a way for people to find and reference back to those videos more easily.

Great video btw, thanks! I would be happy to know more about ideal late game 1v1 or TG eco and army compositions for Arabia and how to balance it, I mean like; 20 on wood, 80 on farms, 5 trebs and 95 hussars? I usually reach 200 pop with approx 130 vills plus army but end up deleting 25-30 vills later for example.
In other videos, Hera (and others) explain that it doesn't really matter as long as you're making military, that you arrive at 200 pop with 120 or 150. If you want to overpop your opponent, just go for it and adjust along the way. It's not a big deal to delete vills 10 by 10 once you'r pop capped because they're not the most expensive unit you're making at this point.
As always with AoE, it DEPENDS. But from what I've heard from the various content creator / pros that we have, the main case is going to be the one above, and specific distributions would vary a lot based on how the game played out and were its going.

In terms of maps to cover I would suggest the classics of each category. I would probably say Arena for closed, four lakes for hybrid and migration for water
And Michi for boring.

I think a dull thing about Arabia map layout (and I guess some other maps) is that if you are familiar with the resource distribution you know a lot just by scouting a resource pile. If it has three tiles of resources the enemy is far away and if it has a four tiles you are at his base. If it was just distributed like: each player gets a three tile gold and stone, a four tile gold and stone, and there is three and four tile neutral gold and stone, resource distribution wouldn't be much different, but the map is not as much straightforward after scouting a bit with the map layout foreknowlegde.

Nice video! Since everyone is making suggestions, can I also suggest a video on how to handle off mata strategies such as Hoang rush, Berbers laming, Persian douche, Teuton/ Pole tower rush? These are some of the strategies that you know it is coming, but you don’t really know how to deal with it. It would be a great help to force people away from being a one trick pony.

Okay so it's a map that leads to aggression in feudal age... Is it really possible to rush castle age in arabia or is feudal harassment almost a go-to?
You can definitely rush castle age for some strategies. My recommendation is to wall your base if you go for that

Legit Tierlist request: Civ Tierlist based on late game, post- imperial army compositions with full stone-walled trade. Applies to maps like oasis/michi/land nomad games that go long/some megarandom maps. Basically the tierlist for the strongest possible army compositions when gold isnt an issue.
Can you do a Video on type for civ like the agresseive civ defensive civ naval civ ... I think It will be cool.

Following up on @TheOrder96's comment, there might be an opportunity to develop a "curriculum" of sorts, where you can not only sort playlists into different tiers w.r.t skill/experience, but also create a few videos giving an overview of how to navigate the curriculum.
Basically, if you're introducing your friend to AoE2, have them watch Hera's "Intro to AoE2" or "AoE2: The Fundamentals" or w/e you wanna call it, then play at least 10 ranked games, reach an elo of 800, or something, then continue with the next series.
Would be cool, and could also tie in nicely with the "Road to ..." series, which could now also utilise the curriculum to show which skills to prioritise at which level.
Regarding markets, why isn't it recommended to build a singular market in your intended drop off and multiples next to your ally?
This means when trade is created, it instantly picks up the full gold and already completed half of its journey.

Would you consider doing a vid on how to play meso civs? When I play with my brothers 99% of random civs are super easy to pick up, but any time there is a meso civ things fall apart so quickly. Are you meant to open with archers every game with every meso civ? How to play?
Kinda depends on which one. With Mayans probably going archers would be key with a mix of one or two eagles to counter skrims. With Aztecs I kinda feel they are strongest in early castle, you’d want to prioritize relics as soon as possible, Incas is kinda like the wildcard almost like a counter civ case they have really good units to counter much of what you’re up against especially with that food discount. But hey I’m no expert so take it with a grain of salt 😅
I go archers 99% with meso civs, maybe mix in some spears if u are afraid that ur enemy is faster up to castle and making some knights.
With mayans I almost always switch to plumed archers or 100hp eagles or to both.
Aztecs it's almost always Arbalester for me.
With Incas I like to make eagles with halbs later on, mixed with those no minimum Range skirms😄
I think that the key for winning with meso civs is that u have to stay agressive and harash the enemy in multiple locations at the same time and for that playstyle I really like em'

Should I consider buying the Romans expansion as a very new player? I have gold medals on the first five tutorials, but that is pretty much all the experience I have.
The DLC sounds like good value for the price, considering you get the 16 civs from AoE 1 and an additional civ. However, I feel I will probably get matched up with significantly better players.
Should I not worry too much about it, since ELO should still accurately match me up with people of my skill level or is 1000 ELO without DLC's a lot worse than 1000 ELO with DLC's?
Only get it if u really care for aoe1 or romans, it wont help you improve or climb, and romans arent a must play imo

The best way to play arabia is to agree to a 30 minute treaty with the opponent and then enjoy a fun game with big epic army battles

Mid elo tip. Full wall faster. Your ass ain't a pro. You can't quick wall and defend Maa and scouts as easily as pros while open.
Another mid elo tip. Go up on 20 or 21 pop. Your asw ain't a pro. You can't optimize tight builds by hitting fast. More than likely you'll go up on 18 ND idle your tc and still hit with 3 scouts at a slow ass time
