- In this episode @BonaFideWorldGuide and I head over to Costa Rica for a little fishing, surfing, and jungle exploration! We inshore fished with Osmak Fishing Charters in Quepos for an enjoyable full day trip. The main target was rooster fish but snook, snapper, and other beach species were possibilities too! I caught my first pacific snook that day and we took it to a local "Soda" to get cooked up for dinner! We take you on a little tour of the "Rainmaker", Domincal, and the San Jose Central Market! I did a trip like this in 2008 out of Los Suenos and caught a world class rooster on a slow trolled live 18 inch snapper. Absolutely the best fighting fish I have ever fought. Looking forward to going back someday.

Love the video! I’ve been down to Rica 3 times now for Roosters, 3 guided trips and fishing every day those 3 weeks, only lost one rooster at my feet - one finicky fish!

I just went this past February, had an amazing hilltop Airbnb, managed to catch a 41 inch rooster and some other fun fighting fish.

Haha we did too. Mountainside Airbnb in Uvita. Drove up to Quepos for a half day of mahi and later in the week a half day of roosterfish. Place is incredible
Just got back from Jaco! Went offshore and went 1-7 on sailfish and 2-4 on yellowfin. Beautiful place out there! Glad you had a good time! Love the ugly stick too! Best rods made!

We're going back to Costa Rica in 2 weeks, a little north of Quepos, closer to Jaco. I've never fished this far south along the coast and not normally this early in the spring. We're chartering the same size boat, rather than a bigger one for further out. I hope we have as much fun, but avoid the catfish - lol. Either way we'll get out for a day.

I frequently go to CR. Always stay in Esterillos Oeste. I fish from the pangas there.straight west is the famous 26. My 14yo caught a 60lb mahi! I got again in 4 weeks. Fun and great place for kids because of all the wildlife.

We used to spear those Pacific Black Snook. They can get huge compared to their Atlantic cousins and we speared alot of those too. Panama was a great place for fishing and spearfishing. Like Stanz but out of a 16' Boston Whaler😂😂😂. Didn't need anything bigger to get whatever we were after, including billfish. What good times. Never dove Costa Rica. Nice vid. BTW, there is no better Sunday breakfast than snook row with scrambled eggs, mixed, crispy bacon and toast.

Man it looked beautiful down there in Costa Rica. Is it safe for tourists down there to just go and explore and check stuff out or do you have to be careful of where you go?
We felt pretty safe every where. Just wouldn’t leave your phone on the beach etc
There’s a lot of places in the inner cities of America that are way more unsafe feeling to me than anywhere I’ve been in CR. Like nick said, you’re more likely to have the possibility of someone snatching your valuables if ya leave em on the beach when you go in the water. But we were there 10 days and never seen that happen personally

Go get checked for parasites brother , rampant in Costa Rica . Next time you need to hike Arenel volcano , and fish out of los suenos .Quepos is fished out ,compared to what it once was
I might have to get checked, 9 days later and stomach is still messed up. I saw are al 9 years ago but didn’t hike it, will put it in the list to do
