It’s great that WD black made a cheaper option to buy a sea gate card and it’s great that Microsoft was able to bring back memory cards since the 90s

@@maruchan5675 a few things, 1. some chinese flash coming to market cuz nand flash is not bleeding edge 2. crypto market crashed and there was a disk drive crypto coin so demand has dropped there 3. overproduction due to crash and ?? idk less demand overall due to higher demand during the pandemic
also.. market is fairly similar to dram market with same players / possible they would get hit hard with price-fixing again

Still same price! Overpriced proprietary BS! The 2TB Seagate card cost more than my console. Having a duopoly on the Xbox market for storage options sucks. With as much data as new games are requiring for download, it doesn’t leave any room for less expensive options and they know it.

If you need gamepass ultimate microsoft is still offering to switch any xbox live gold on your account (up to three years) for game pass ultimate. I just bought three years worth of xbox live gold today for like 80 quid, and then if you get just one month of gamepass ultimate it will convert all those three years of xbox live gold into gamepass ultimate. It works out about five times cheaper than just leaving game pass to automatically renew each month.

@@Skybar23 He means for longevity, all SSDs deteriorate. Also, it is not filling up the SSD, it is deleting and writing over and over again. Still, it should last 5 years writing and deleting 100gb of data every single day so you got nothing to worry.

Thanks to these coming out. I picked up a Seagate one for the same price, still too expensive but given I like having many games installed and Gamepass games on top of that, it was getting annoying to delete many games I wanted to have around for when the mood struck.

So instead of having a USB sticking out the console… you have this slightly different shaped external hardware device stick out of the console.
If I need more space I’ll just buy another Xbox. They’re similar in price as a 2TB when you add the controller and the one month game pass and free game that comes with it in value.
or get the new 1tb xbox series s carbon black edition which is only £50 more expensive than the original console rather than buying that really expensive expansion card

It's better to get an 8tb SEAGATE Xbox HDD! You can PLAY Xbox One X/S and Xbox 360 off of the HDD!
Xbox Series X Games can also be INSTALLED on the HDD but NEEDS to be MOVED onto the INTERNAL Storage or X Series Expansion Card OK.
Don't waste money on 1/2TB Expansion Cards. It's too expensive!

I probably never would have bought an xbox s or x if i knew how retarded the memory space was. Games that were able to be played on xbox 1 are now forced to be "upgraded" to the s/x version, which then can no longer be played from a usb stoarge. And the only option i have is to buy several 2 tb expansion cards, or spend hours of time moving game files from usb storage to console just to play them. Its bad enough that every game is a cash grab, now the console itself is trying to drain us dry.

the problem with this is the PRICE! because a normal 1TB M.2 2230 costs only 119 euro but it's stil lexpensive, they should have just used the normal M.2 2280 format which costs only like 1TB for 65-70 euro...and idk maybe use a L adapter to make it go vertical instead of horizontal?

1tb is an old standard. Bare minimum should be 2-4tbs. 150$ for a 1tb is a joke when you can get a 2tb SSD for 100$.
It's really satisfying how it just fits into the back, but I like how the PS5 does it, even if it's a bit harder to put in.

What a rip off the series S is...these expansion cards are a joke and microsofts reaping the profits from mislableling and confusion. For this XBOX and microsoft are crooks and they suck...normally I defend them but the series is ends up being far more expensive then the X after you purchase all the accesarys.Its just less money upfront...and in these financially hard times that is something thats hard to not take. I do regret my purchase everyday tho...btw the WD black XBOX EXPANSION SSD's do not expand your storgage you still cant play most games from it...this is the EXACT product you have to have even if they sell it on the microsoft and XBOX stores and it clearly says EXPANSION FOR XBOX and its an SSD for some odd little reason it wont work...maybe becouse there making billions of off the confusion. How many people actually use gamepass for multiple games at a time?
I think at most I had three games downloaded at the same time and I think most of the 9 games I even downloaded during 2 years of subscription didn’t interest me whatsoever, certainly not enough to be spending any money on(I also didn’t pay for my gamepass).
The Xbox 360 was and always will be the goat at least the 360 had really cool demos unlike the xbox one and the series x/s which both have boring demos and you didn't had to install anything you can just put the disc in an it'll take you straight to the game

My question is, would taking the card out while not playing a game on the card, damage the card? Like if I have a card that has one game and another that has another. And I want to interchange the card while the xbox is on. Is that possible?
