That last tour when everybody was so mean-spirited about the condition of her voice...EVERY single time she sang "I Love The Lord" she KILLED!!! All those other songs were a toss up whether she would execute or not, that one song was NEVER in question. So glad somebody else noticed this consistency!!! Bless you!!!
Mines does the same I can sing any song and strain but gospel it's like every note will always connect! That's a sign God has a bigger calling for your voice to bring Glory to his name!! That's anointing of the Holy Spirits presence! ✨
EVEN WITH HER VOICE NOT AT %100 SHE STILL SINGS BETTER THAN MOST...RUNS, CONTROL,VOLUME etc. Especially on that part when she sing "through the nighhhhtttttt..ttt...ttt" love it!!!
One thing about this lady when she opens her mouth to sing you know it's her. Whether it was the beginning or close to the end of her career. Love and miss you Whitney R.I.P!
Just a shame a year later after this performance she was in a coffin. Very sad! No doubt this women could still sing. This performance gave me goosebumps!
When you are singing for the Lord, you reach notes that only you can by expressing your personally relationship with him vocally, She struggled throughout out her life as most likely we all do, but having a personal relationship with the Father is ultimately the only thing that matters!! Praise GOD, Whitney loved the Lord!!, as I do!!
Yes she did! And I do too! I will never forget when she was on Oprah and Oprah said "Who do you love?" EVERYTHING in me knew she was about to say "The Lord" before she said ANYBODY else. And that's what came out of her mouth first, "The Lord". I smiled so hard when she said it and nodded to myself like "Me too, Whitney. Me, too".
Still the Best technical singer with the Best tone and fervor in the Business....that will save you when range leaves Darling! There was no vocalist like her. Her title was earned rightfully; I miss "The Voice".
Gosh this woman can sing. Wish the media showed this I stead of the bad performance. The media really tore her down. Now they are doing the same to Mariah.
It's so horrible. The media always turns on the legends and then as soon as they die, they act as if they always loved them. Luckily Mariah, does not have a foreseeable death cause right now, but then again neither did Michael! I would be heartbroken if Mariah died, but she seems to be doing good, and if the media showed any vocals at all from recent, people would know she could still sing.
Whitney Fan47 That part rt There... I get so mad hearing Whitney on the radio now almost as much as I am actually enjoying the song because,, she was too pop, or too black, or too whatever when she was alive... pisses me off... she was one of The Baddest,, and not enough flowers were given to her while she lived , and could smell them as my granny would say...
Say what you want to.........but Whitney was at her best singing gospel!! I'd rather hear her than some of these church fakes in the gospel business!! Yeah I said it!
Arnold Mckelvey yes lord I felt it her vocals came through I felt the spirit and she still sounds better then me and I’m 100 percent singer and I can’t hit ether riff or run she hit that fast and effortlessly and I sing amazing
Despite the excess of phlegm she had in her throat SHE KILLED THIS, in the sense that she gave her ALL to minister to these people! And even technically there is SO MUCH of what she did here that ONLY SHE could do! The runs, the inflections, the phrasing! And even tho she went raspy here she still had amazing power!! The “And through the storm, and THROUGH the night…” 😭🙌🏾. And the sweet yet fragile notes of the last line “lead me oooonnn hooooome” 😭😭 There was no one like this woman!!!
So much Emotion in her voice,,, She could whoop any singers ass with just 50 % of The Gift God had given her.... We didn’t really realize What We once had here with Us... Rest EasyNipp... ❤️❤️
I remember a TH-cam comment I read once. It was a comment left by a preacher, or at least I am pretty sure it was but they said they had heard that Whitney was thinking about switching to being a gospel singer full time before she passed away and they had said she done that they believe God would’ve fully restored Whitney’s voice.
Never knew this existed! Her range wasn’t as it had been years before but still so powerful! RIP Whitney.. Will always love you! She is with the precious lord.
@@ChefFineaswine : That's not true. These videos of Whitney singing at the funeral are 7 years old....why would they now edit all the videos on youtube just to cut "that part"?
I'm glad bobby let the whole world hear the sing Whitney did for his mother funeral tonight on his bio pic she really brought the whole church to tears with that voice.
I wish she & Bobby would have stayed together & lived their lives through ministry because they both have God given talent. Whitney’s voice was from on high!
Evidence that her voice was coming back like her voice coach said. He said Clive Davis stopped him from restoring her voice fully! I can only wonder why? Not only this, but her voice coach ALSO TOLD Anderson Cooper that her voice could have come back! Listen to the last two minutes of the video at: Anderson Cooper (CNN): Whitney Had No Life Without Her Voice
***** You better know it! Somehow, I have to believe that Clive Davis knew about the plan to take Whitney's life and could not care less about anything except making a few dollars. Who would not want an artist voice to be restored, for they all have voice issues at times? Be that as it may, he cannot touch her soul.
***** Wow, thanks so much. That is just so odd that he would be told to not restore it. Hmm.. well I don't want you to over exert yourself. I know how it can be when you really start searching for a video you haven't seen in a while. I'll just say if you should happen to find it def hit me up with the link but all at your own leisure dear friend. Many thanks, Miguel! :)
Wow very powerful and soulful like her old self.. And it shows even in this year it says this was in 2011.. that was supposedly when she was doing the movie sparkle and to have little contact with bobby brown.. Shows how nice and loving of a person miss WHITNEY HOUSTON was.. still being there for a funeral to give her old Ex husband full support in coping with a family death.... So sad
My condolences to the Brown family on the passing of Mother Brown. To Bobby Brown: I know you made your mama proud during her lifetime. May God comfort you and your family forever more. There's nothing like a mother's love and nothing quite as hurting as the loss of a mother. I'll be in continued prayer for this family.
I hate to hear people say she “lost her voice”. You can see here her voice was STILL there, if anything it was hindered. She had a lot of phlegm from smoking cigarettes for so long and possibly had early stages of emphysema because she had been smoking cigs since the 80s(wanna say her autopsy confirmed this). I’ll never forget some of the clips from her last tour where her voice would punch through and she would sound like 90s Whitney. This video shows she still had everything that made her Whitney… she just had to stop smoking the cigarettes (which she had shortly before she died 😢😭. She told Clive) and keep working with a coach.
Definitely agree! Yes she’s been smoking since she was 14 or 15. Whitney could still sing very well considering the damage that was done. It irritates me when people keep comparing her voice to her younger days. Even if she lived a clean and sober life her voice would have still changed over the years. It would probably sound like it did in 1996.
Daaaammmmnn! This is better than so many of her performances from her final tour. I always did figure that it was nerves that got the best of her during those performances. Now I have proof.
I didn't see the Bobby Brown story as many did here, however RIH Mrs. Brown. I was looking for a inspirational song... this is my fathers favorite song... God doesn't make mistakes...here because Im suppose to be

I love Whitney she pay her respect to her mother law that who she love i respect Whitney for that becuz she was biggie person than bobby she did not let the past hold her back but she love the brown family
There will be no one like her. I know her voice had changed over time, but there is still a maturity and richness in it that is powerful in its own right. And what makes it all the more special, is that it’s still full of devotion despite the ravages of life and time. She still showed up and sang. That’s what matters.
She sang from her heart for a woman she clearly loved. She doesn't sound the same as she did in the 90s but Im not the same 108lbs I was than either. I love the new voice and the raspiness of it. I wish she had time to make the haters know her talent went far beyond the high notes she loss.
