I second this! I saw them live at the Fillmore in Silver Spring Maryland on October 27th of last year and both Joel and Ahren sounded great! Ahren did sound tired though.
Joel often sounds bad live because he cups the mic. makes it really hard for sound engineers to make a decent mix without feedback. plus he propably holds the mic too close to his mouth, whe he sounds even more muffled. a lot of dynamic mics do that.

Ahrens mic is having difficulties. Ive seen these guys live so many times. I can tell you ahren is great live and sounds great. Also they might have been having an off day. Not every performance is going to be good.
I love this band, as a drummer I cant help but feel for the bassists carrying this band… screaming is hard but so is singing better than the screaming while also simultaneously playing the bass guitar

I've seen MISS MAY I THE AMITY AFFLICTION & MOTIONLESS IN WHITE (headlined). Miss May I & The Amity Affliction were way better than motionless in white (without a doudt). Hopefully The Amity Affliction will come back to Pittsburgh Pa USA on tour

Seems like they had trouble across many elements of the sound. 3 of 4 battled tech issues. Not sure who ran stage and backline but they failed TAA. They all perform super well live, consistently and clearly have alot of talent. Unfortunate set, it happens, just sucks it did @Waken Good showing
What you’re hearing is the backing vocals sample playback that they play on every show. But the actual vocals were too low due to technical difficulties apparently.
I thought this. It looked liked the bass player was miming. Vocals sounded to good. The guitarist is signing because you can hear those imperfections. I don't mind backing tracks for samples.

I think this was a sound staff/mixing issue. I’ve seen them play and Ahren killed it, so I think this was all due to tech issues, not band issues.
