I'd like to think Matt made Lucien in a way that although he'll never admit it, the time and memories as Mollymauk are still very much a part of his complete self. So I'm interpreting this as Lucien temporarily losing himself in the sentiment associated with the memories of Molly, before the eyes of nine pull him back into nonagon-mode.
If he was completely Lucien... I don't think he'd have taken the clover from Yasha. I might be grasping at straws, but I took that as confirmation that Mollymauk Tealeaf is in there, somewhere.
I really enjoyed seeing this animated bit where he hesitates for a moment looking back at the Nein. I do wonder if we will ever see for sure any bit left of Molly in Lucien.
my theory is that the soul of lucien is some kind of amalgamation of souls, mollymauk tealeaf being one of them. if lucien is the whole he contains the sum of the parts

His soul(s) was split and scattered during the initial ritual by Vess, the Molly fragment remained behind and died a natural death. The Tomb Takers completed a ritual to return the missing fragments, but didn't do a resurrection spell, so the rest of him returned but Molly is still in the afterlife.

I loved how in the beginning it was Nott blowing on the tinder to try to get the flames going; you can see her more gaunt face and yellow eyes each time it flares, and then Caleb, who lit the flames of change to change her back, lights the fire and reveals Veth. That was amazingly well done.
I really appreciate the details like Caduceus blows away the steam of Fjord´s vision and the symbolism behind it. And of course that spark from Caleb that indicates start of the journey and friendship. Whole design, thought, animation and feel of it is astonishing. Well done. My heart feels whole. Thank you

I did not prepare to start crying. Seeing Lucian looking back and seeing the sad, lonely longing written all over his face, and then the eyes around him... forcing him back down into the depths of Lucians mind. Breaks my hreat cause I love Molly and i want Lucian to be freed from The Eyes of Nine so he can be happy again!!!!

Actually the designs were released when I was well into the linework, which is why only Caduceus and Fjord have their new outfit, for the others I went with an approximation of what they described before going to Eiselcross, but adapted the coloring to the new designs :) I'm not that fast, I still need sleep from time to time :'D
In the first instance (Before the nine eyes flash) his eye portray a look of longing/homesick. Then after the nine eyes flash he seems more cold/detached and walks away. (Do you think Molly is still kicking in Lucien’s head?)

This is hecking adorable, how did I not find this earlier? The art style for some reason made me think of Kim Possible and I love it SO MUCH. The way the music changes when it moves to Lucien is perfect in the weird familiar yet unnervingly alien way that Lucien makes me feel

Goddamn!!
I don’t understand how anyone could dislike this. It was wonderfully animated, and colored- the atmosphere was perfect and felt warm and inviting, and the music was calming and beautiful. Well done!!!
