This is SO GOOD! I don't know how to describe it, but the literal chills and positive buzz that radiates with this song, along with ALL the other releases. I love all the little symbolisms and such, it's my thing. From the moment I started listening, I got hit with a wave of nostalgia, yet it was also its own thing. TLDR; It appears I have a new comfort song.
TH-cam just randomly put you in my recommendations. Idk how you got there or why I decided to click, but now if feels like a blessing that I discovered you yesterday.
Love the fact you all used Igor Stravinsky's Firebird as a motif. I always adored the Fantasia 2000 short, so it shot me back to how inspirational it was to lil me, how it's my favorite classical track and just puts lyrics equally as inspiring to it
Met up with my elementary school friend wearing one of your shirts and they asked if I listened to you guys as well and we got talking for forever about our favorite songs of yours! Can't wait for this album's full release ❤❤❤
My favorite part of DPR music (and music in general) is when it has a narrative and tells a story and personally, I think DPR is some of the best at it out there. Nothing quite like just listening to a great song and just imagining this whole vivid world as the tale unfolds. I’ve said it before but I cannot wait for the whole release, To get the rest of the pieces of this story. I’m very excited
The themes that run through your music, and especially in this song, are like deep massive roots that stretch from heavens downwards, making them barely, if at all, perceivable to those which do not have a habit of lifting their heads and hearts up. Everyone brings forth that which is in their hearts. Meteora are really fitting here and the song release is rather fitting given the season. Beautiful.
Seems like for the past few new releases I've had a singing lesson on and today is no exception. Its great motivation. Can't wait to listen to this with headphones on to hear every intricacy and detail. 🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙
Oh, I LOVE this!! I adore your music, and am super excited for more!! I know this track is going to be stuck in my head for ages, just like so many other songs you've written :D they just make me want to run, and sing, and stand on a mountaintop in the wind - fantastic, as always!
Wow, I keep getting impressed by how you keep making music with such varying feels to it all the while keeping me hooked no matter if it's something I expected to like or not!
I discovered you a while ago thanks to Babylon and I'm extremely fascinated by your multifaceted and eclectic style, I may or may not have started to recover/listen to your albums in a marathon format
Beautiful work as always! Never fails to send shivers up my spine. Y’all’s vocals, instrumentals, theming, and visuals never fail to impress. Y’all have the perfect concoction going with every release and I hate that you’re not more popular. I recommend you all the time!
Only my 15th watch through this and I catch that the previous videos are all square format, which I was just thinking was about making them accessible on Instagram or Tiktok, but no, you artists knew what you were doing the whole freakin' time! The music starts with that amazingly hopeful motif coming out of the retribution of The Eternals and then the visual art follows suit as this one begins. Layers. Layers!
Wow this made me feel my feelings and it honestly feels like you’re plugged directly into my brain?? The visceral emotional reaction this ignited in me is giving me whiplash, but like euphoric whiplash
This is amazing! Using the firebird theme to make something utterly new and beautiful! (I believe firebird is also an orchestral piece, with a fitting animation made by disney in fantasia)
Well, the cat is out of the cage. Everyone is singing it out, it must be so. But, I still wonder, if that is enough for the new day to dawn. It feels like it’s long past time for him to return, and time past must twist round to make it so. It would be a shame if we missed the party; the lion has been hid, dreaming of Zion, for so very long.
Me and all the orchestra dorks: "ooh-WOOOOOAAAH-OOOH-OH-OH-OH-OOOH-OOOH!..." Thinking back to all my friends from orchestra, wishing I could pack them in my suitcase and bring them with me to Florida so we could all belt out that melody. This is a dream-(I didn't know I had)-come-true :)
@@dirtpoorrobinsAmen. By the by, maybe I'm reaching too far but I can't help hearing a certain musical connection to another song about resurrection and phoenixes. At "it's time for your return," I can almost hear that descending bassline finishing on a different chord 👀👀👀
@@danielgratz4977 maybe. I’m not sure which song you are referring to. I did some conscious call backs to songs on this record, but no other conscious classical influences.
@@dirtpoorrobins Thank you! I just started listening to your music about a week ago and have been blown away. It's almost punk rock, but instead of just revolting against the system, you aim to fill the void with the Light of Christ. This prevents your music from becoming just another avenue for rage like so many rock bands out there, and makes for an uplifting and edifying experience.
Intersingly, the Firebird from the Russian folklore (and from Stravinsky's piece) seems to not have much in common with the Phoenix. It can be literally translated from Russian as Heatbird, rather than Firebird. It glows and shines very brightly, but it doesn't actually burn, there is typically no fire involved. I am also not aware of any connection to the idea of re-birth or resurrection. Source: I am a Russian national :-)
As much as I love Russian fairytales, this is not intended to be one in any way. A very different pattern here. I’m also not trying to use Stravinsky’s libretto. I’m using the words interchangeably like they have been in many stories throughout many cultures.
@@dirtpoorrobins Yeah sure, and I love it! For me it was an aha moment when the song helped connect the name of the song /album / Phoenix to the image of Zhar-Ptitza (slavic Firebird) in my mind. It was as if they existed in different realities for me before that.
I really like the image in the bridge of a fever that persists and actually grows in temperature to the point that it’s described as “soaring higher”, and how that idea connects with the idea of hope growing alongside it. Fevers normally happen when the body is trying to rid itself of infection by turning up the heat so that the things that cause sickness will die or at the very least have a harder time surviving inside the body, so the idea of one that grows up until and even after death and revival suggests that the raised body in this image can’t get sick because the body temperature is too high. Seems like a material symbol that demonstrates the idea of becoming too holy for sin to ever corrupt a person ever again, because just like high heat and fire can kill that which makes the body sick, so to does God’s holiness burn away spiritual corruption and sin.

Welcome to the greatest band of all
Feels like that because it is.
Highly recommend listening to Deadhorse deluxe. I personally think it's their best work.
I love the callback to Fever Dream at 2:47
I was hoping people would catch that.

That's awesome! I'm still waiting for my fated encounter with another DPR fan, but with how popular they're becoming I shouldn't have to wait long!

Absolutely amazing.
I love every single aspect of this song from vocals to lyrics and from instruments to the video style
All of your songs have such a unique feel to them! They speek freedom (to me) and remind me of rainbow after the rain
So much hope, so much joy! Come alive, Firebirds!
Epic tune! I can't get enough of Kate's vocals ❤
Patreon these folks. I need more of this in my life.

Loving the use of the Stravinsky theme!
Still putting out absolute hits almost decades later - worth the wait again! Incredibly excited for the full album release in a couple days :)
the line "the cloak of a wolf with the voice of a sheep" is so powerful I am so going to use that in my writing!!!

You guys rock. Had all your stuff on repeat in the car since I found ya last month. Keep it up.
2:20 My dude! Is that bass lick a reference to "All there is"?
Wow. It might be. But subconsciously.
@dirtpoorrobins well, there goes that theory. 🤷🏻😂
Btw this is such an amazing song to end the album on!!!
As if I couldn't love love DPR more you create this.

Exactly. It’s a deep dive into where Thunderbird leaves off
