They got a long way to go. They need to get more of the actual story board writers to actually help make the movies. As much as I hate Neil Cuckman, TLOU show was good.
If video game adaptions that are of a large scale that have books and deep rich lore were properly followed then youd have the game fan base behind you and would have better sales, more eyes, and better reviews and those would in turn get outsiders, mainly younger folks like u and adults alike to try tuning in cause they hear its good and that in turn creates new fans and more numbers and sales and so on and possibly a gamer out of those who originally were not. But instead hollywood and film in general are trying to get a good DEI score and social and political brownie points and that is why the majority fail and will continue to fail with only a handful of gems coming out like sonic and mario.
@@ImmaSureWin it was really really good. I've watched lots of video essays on here and you have high production quality. No tons of generic b-roll footage. My only critique is that I wanted a little bit more. Keep doing doing what you're doing man.
Henry can have an altruistic view of "toxic fandom" mainly because he is a white cis man. I'm sure he is a decent guy but probably also feels pretty safe from the folks on the internet who may not like him as Geralt or Superman etc. Switch him out for anyone else and the fandom that is "passionate" about a character or property can ramp up the toxicity to extreme levels and threats start to become more plausible in real life. Not to mention literally any human may not be mentally equipped to take the onslaught of awful things folks apparently feel ok saying from behind their computers. We can not like something and still handle ourselves like we live in a world with other humans.
@@ImmaSureWin uhhhh no, if u wanna go off straight numbers and sales and treat them as views as a point of who's the minority and majority voice in these arguments then you'll see YOU and your ilk are the minority voices cheering on anything that the fandom disagrees with and you don't move the needle and ur part of why the adaptations ( the majority of which fail) usually suck.
Hollywood still got a long way from making good show adaptations of videogames. The Last of Us show was extremely rushed, which led the development of the relationship between Joel and Ellie to feel forced, and instead of spending more time on that (and on Henry) they wasted two full episodes that made no difference in the story to showcase gay relationships (one that was merely hinted at, the other was DLC content). The Fallout show was all over the place and ended up feeling more like a shitty copy of Borderlands than Fallout. And now they're trying to butcher Warhammer like they did The Witcher. At least the Mario and Sonic movies are ok
Fallout and The Last of Us have a similar setting, end of world and lawlessness. Problem with Halo is they making up their own stories and they aren't even doing it well, they depend on the context that the viewers know the game to understand what events in the TV show even mean. Even though the show is nothing like the game, if you didn't play the games I have no idea how you would even follow the show, its just a total mess of writing that adds different things from Halo and mashes them together but the end result doesn't even reflect Halo and certainly nothing good.
Naw if you seen some of the fallout fans criticitising the show they can be really toxic, like no joke some of it is just blatant racism because of the race of characters, but some of the opinions are just normal criticism like pointing out possible flaws in the story that may contradict the video games, like GIBBY GAMINGS Fallout is woke video, mad toxic with the racism in the start of the video
Been reading A LOT of criticism of the show and haven't seen racism yet. Unless you consider claiming that black people were overrepresented to be racist
@@Buzzerker_1775 coloured over representation is woke because it’s forced, nothing about the fallout shows characters seems forced at all, they are just people. Saying that black people being over represented is a tint of your racist personality showing because that shit doesn’t matter at all especially if the story isn’t affected from it cuz the show has nothing to do about different skin coloured races. So yes some guys are being racist, but can they at least be honest about it.

This was too short man. Timely video essays like this need to be 30 to 45 mins. It was good though.

I can understand that. I think those voices make up a very loud minority of people, but it does get pretty toxic for sure
Definitely agree..:as small a minority as they truly are, they are indeed the loudest and can be the most frightening to the targeted folks
