In the mid 90s, when I first started quilting, I remember telling someone at quilt guild that someone should invent a sewing machine with a laser light guide. We all laughed, because we didn’t think it would ever really happen. It’s only taken 25 years, but I’m so glad to see someone made one!
Okay I just cried my eyes out. I've been searching and searching for something to help me. I had Strokes in my eyes and on top of that recently had cataract surgery on both eyes. I haven't been able to do a damn thing with my sewing for a year now. I'm getting better but it's a very slow process especially because of The Strokes. Everything is distorted and I'm having a terrible time. I can't wait to get my hands on those laser lights. I don't even care how much they cost at this point. I'll use my whole social security check to get them. So grateful that you showed them on here. I've tried everything and this looks like a dream come true for me. Thank you so much for showing them.
Hi Nancy, sweet girl. I'm so sorry for the health struggles you've dealt with over the past year. I hope you are on your way to better days and very soon creating beautiful quilts again! 🥰🥰
@@ISeeStarsQuilting . Thank you so much. I'm getting there. Can't wait to get my laser lights. I can't believe with all the videos I watch I've never seen this before I'm glad I found you. I really enjoyed your videos and will continue to support your Channel. Pushing 70 sucks. LOL
Wow! This may be a game changer, particularly for those of us with visual issues. Even when my vision was pretty good I struggled with the lighting on my longarm and never felt like I could see where I was going. I'm absolutely going to order one to test out. If it's as good as it looks I'll probably get at least two more, maybe three. Thank you so so much! I'm subscribing!
I have the green laser. It is VERY bright. As soon as I tried it, the reflection off of my needle plate was so strong I noped it right out of there. (I get light-induced migraines.) I’ll try it again with fabric under the needle before turning it on, now that I’ve seen your use of the red version. Worth a try!
Great review! That little light that attaches to the sewing machine really catches my eye. A few years ago I got one of those led light tapes to attach to the throat of my machine. It ended up to be a bust for me because although the light was nice, I kept catching my quilts on the tape and pulling it off, plus it had a cord which is annoying. Something so small that I can attach anywhere looks great to me, plus the fact that I can remove it. I'm going to check these out!
Beth, I know the struggle of the led light strip! ugh. While good in theory... that thing was a pain to deal with on my old machine. You'll be way more happy with this little Velcro bright led light!
Thank you for the video. My only concern is I wish you had shown your self actually sewing when using the laser because I’m curious to see if the vibration from the sewing machine affects the line of the laser
That is a very good point. I didn't think of that. Next time I sew with it, I'll get some footage to add in to another video. The laser is very steady and doesn't shake or vibrate.
@@ISeeStarsQuilting Yes that would be great and extremely helpful especially for one of my older friends who has had surgery in each eye Always best when filming these videos to show practical applications
This looks fabulous. I bought a small laser attachment that was nice, but didn’t work at the sewing machine. Can’t wait to try this one. The cross hairs should be very useful. Thanks for a great review.
I LOVE these tools! One question- I used the link to purchase & boy do they have choices. Do you know if the bundles come with all the accessories as the individual items? Thanks for sharing!
Wow I had no idea these existed, thanks for the demo! The only bad thing is I do all my piecing with a Singer Featherweight and not too keen on putting Velcro on it. 🤔
A beautiful machine! how fun! - What if you put the Velcro piece on a magnet that you could attach to your machine and remove easily without any permanent damage? - Just a thought!
Hi, Thank you! 🥰 The link to purchase the lasers and light is here: harbor-sales.com/ViviLux-Lasers&id_Affiliate=78 and my light on the table behind me is actually an essential oil diffuser! You make these products look so good! What a personality. However, I purchased the laser light quite a while ago - placed it on my machine - started to sew - the light started dancing all over the place with the motion of the sewing machine. I put it in a drawer and haven't used it since. After watching your video I will give it another try but wondered if you had any suggestions about getting it to stand still.
Hey thanks for your question. I don't have any problem getting mine to stay still while working, but it could be for any number of reasons, the sturdiness of a the table or the age o your sewing machine? I would make sure the end of the laser is screwed on tight too. Sometimes mine wiggle loose and I have to tighten them on again
I've been wondering if I could attach a pin point laser to my sewingachine to do Pantagraph style quilting. I bet this would work! The thought had been mulling around in my brain, but I didn't go searching for it yet. Thanks for the video!
I really love the Janome Brand. I started on a Janome 3160QDC. I still use it a lot. I would go to a sewing machine repair or service shop and see what they have on had. They usually have floor models available if they are a dealer and you can sit down and see which ones you like better. You can also ask if they have any trade-ins and possibly good a great deal on an upgrade
After seeing your video, I was quite excited to purchase this laser for my little stitch machine I travel with. I ordered from Amazon. Unfortunately I had to return it for another one. Unfortunately again I had to return it for a refund. Apparently I was lucky enough to get two defective ones. Both were name brand. Bummer for me. Yours seems to do exactly what I wanted.
oh no. Thats terrible. I'm so sorry. I haven't had any problem with mine. Have you contacted the company to ask? I know theyve had a few issues with people selling a cheaper knock off version of their product. :(
Laser lights seem like a great idea but I have concerns. Shining laser lights into eyes can burn the tissues. I worry about the lasers being reflected off the base of the machine into the eyes. I've found my eyes are sensitive to reflected light from regular bulbs, esp on my black vintage machines.
I do still use them today! I do have to recharge them quite a bit. But I wonder if that is mostly because of the time inbetween uses -- or Ill use most of the battery and then it'll need a quick charge before the next use. but they do help and I enjoy having the extra guidelines!
Thank you for your video. I had a ? What if you need to sew 1/4” on either side of the center of your half square triangles? Would the laser still work? Tia 😊
I think the laser would work for wherever you put it. In this situation, I might angle the laser on the center line of the HST and make sure my needle is 1/4" from the center line. Then, follow the laser on the centerline and sew. It should work for both sides 🥰
FYI... if you pull out (towards you) the silver Janome bar left of the uptake thread bar, it turns on a brilliant LED light completely built in your 15000
yes it is my absolute favorite machine (I'm a little partial to it and don't have a ton of experience with other machines but it has never let me down!)
HELP. I am having such a problem with this laser system I just bought. It is hard to line up the single line. It is fully charged but keeps shutting off the light. Any suggestions?
Half the people that buy these lasers give 1 star reviews on Amazon and elsewhere. The main complaint is the laser head moves too much while sewing at higher speeds.
I know that vivilux has had issues with copy companies coming in and making a similar but less quality laser. I have never had a problem with the laser head moving while sewing.
I'm sorry you had trouble with the laser. Did you contact the company? I've never had any trouble with mine. I know there are companies out there selling knock offs. I hope you find something that works for you - they're incredibly handy!
