been using proton all these years and bought this one as my first perodua. I have to say it's a pleasant transition, love all the extra features. The ride is very smooth, throttle much more responsive than proton's cvt. Overall i think this is very worthy car to get as you get much more bells and whistles than any other cars out there
tbh, ASA is not that important, as it only work below 30km/h. what perodua should do is improve the myvi suspension and handling to make it more comfortable.

Germaine Liew Mechanically sure but with the arrival of the new Myvi, you can still justify owning the City on the basis of larger boot space. However, the Myvi beats the Jazz hands down and unless Honda changes the engine, updates the transmission, provide Apple Carplay & Android Auto and Honda sensing... Before I sat in a myvi 2017 model, I always think that its a bad car with alot of bodyroll but when I sat in my relatives 2017myvi advance, I changed my mind. Its very smooth and fuel efficient. Only problem is the noise...
Proton is another national car maker of Malaysia. Recently, they're not innovative enough. With this Myvi, A.S.A, sportier look, and almost-Japanese quality car build, Proton surely will have a great trouble keeping up.

Good Review nevertheless. Good English, good presentation etc. Tip-top. But a truly passionate car lover will look thoroughly and consider the car's character whether it suits him or not. Cut short, ngam or not ngam. Cun or not cun. The car is no doubt a good car but I think to indicate that Proton is "bye-bye", is NOT FAIR. This is because the new Myvi was launched recently (November) while comparable to it's direct competitor, the Proton Iriz debuted back in 2014 and the face-lifted, more refined version was introduced earlier this year. In addition to that, the Proton Iriz has 6 airbags for the higher variant and definitely the Push Start/Stop button. But no one said "a moment of silence to Myvi/Perodua" (that was already 10 years plus in age). For me, this is a clear picture that our Malaysian drivers have a strong perception that Proton "sucks" and that no matter how good or bad (YES) Perodua is, people will always opt for Perodua when it comes to the "mind games". Yes, Proton has tainted its own image with their previous lineup/products (engine problems were the frequent complaint by drivers) over the years but come on, don't give such "silence" statement la. Joke or no joke, sense of humor, yes I get it but in reality, Perodua is always a plus (+) in people's minds...and such statement is not encouraging people to think better and improve their attitudes towards Proton, at all. At the end of the day, both Proton and Perodua is our very own Malaysian brand, regardless of whatever the perception is. We should continue to support with positive views for both so that one day they might be able to be in par with Toyota/Honda at least, or Audi/BMW (yeah I know that's too far away to reach la but yes, that's what we want isn't it?) Wouldn't you be proud if it were to be that way? We keep on criticizing negatively (most of the time it is never a positive criticism followed by the wrong perception) and yet other countries, we don't see them as "loud" as us. You will then question me, "aiya how to support?? Proton this and that, this and that....". Well, I'm not asking you to buy one. If you think a Toyota would be even better than the two, then by all means don't get a Proton. Support here, for me means, to look at Proton in a positive way in every aspect, regardless of the problems that they face. The same way we perceive Perodua entirely. Before you think I am paid by Proton or whatever, no. I have a Toyota, Honda, Kia and yes a Perodua. And, thought of getting a Proton to replace my current Perodua. Like I said, see what suits me lahh, consider what ngam or not ngam...also if everyone buy Myvi, I buy Myvi also no fun maa.. Lastly, my thoughts and views here is all purely out of respect for both manufacturers and the love of the Malaysian brand. Nothing else. Peace :-)
Lil sis has an Iriz test drive the new myvi its almost there but not close enough Iriz definitely much more refine and comfortable, but kudos produa the digital a/c the safety features truely beats what proton has.
just slightly better but not at the level of myvi, just like 1 - 3km/L improvement which is not that good considering how bad the fc was originally. And also the refined version got some questionable decision from proton such as the removal of the auto folding mirrors. but yes the gearbox is much smoother thats for sure
The Iriz was a better car when the 2nd gen Myvi was out. Better ride and handling, better equipment and safety and basically everything. But everyone still buys a Myvi. For the 3rd gen Myvi, it does improve on equipment and safety. And if you get the base model 1.3 G, you aren't going to miss out much. Unlike the Proton Iriz where the base model 1.3 Standard had some cost cutting measures like only 2 speakers for the audio system, no rear wiper and uncoloured door handles and mirrors. It wouldn't be surprising if the new Myvi outrights murder the Iriz in terms of sales.
Relatively the Iriz is at a huge disadvantage when compared to the new Myvi. Perhaps the Iriz handles better than the Myvi but handling is usually not something the buyers of such cars prioritised.
Afzal zainal all of them are good..but these myvi really outdid its last gen, never go wrong to purchase this as my second go to pasar car few years later

Peace :-)
Malaysian lover as I love all Myvi's edition as they fully Japanese style. Might love it or hate it.
The style of cinematography is very Casey Neistatly. I liked it
GC just better than other Autobuzz reviewer.
The legroom is very deceptive... Can see that the thigh support is not as good as Proton's seats.
Good to see you back!
Never heard of that brand before and in a car enthusiast
Lil sis has an Iriz test drive the new myvi its almost there but not close enough Iriz definitely much more refine and comfortable, but kudos produa the digital a/c the safety features truely beats what proton has.
It's too bad the Iriz have bad fc and the gearbox isn't the most pleasant thing
ZeneticX isn't the refined version better ?
just slightly better but not at the level of myvi, just like 1 - 3km/L improvement which is not that good considering how bad the fc was originally. And also the refined version got some questionable decision from proton such as the removal of the auto folding mirrors. but yes the gearbox is much smoother thats for sure
ZXC ehh why tho the group say the fc below 6liter ?
Myvi AV....just test drive it yesterday...solid... haven't make any decision yet... still go through people's review.... should I take it??
Moment silent for proton?? Why? Cause new myvi offer more features then iriz? Come on lah..😅😅
Afzal zainal i think its because this new myvi will kill proton sales especially iriz and even persona.
20000 bookings as of date, and its only been a month since its sneak preview and launch.
Afzal zainal all of them are good..but these myvi really outdid its last gen, never go wrong to purchase this as my second go to pasar car few years later
Hahaha..."spine-shattering even". Perodua are still behind Proton in ride and handling aspect.
Any proton lover i see in any comment on any video, will say bout ride and handling everytime. They dont event touch bout fc, reliability and Japanese quality material
One of the best review I've ever seen good job
myvi is nice to drive in city. I love myvi bfor, but now im in love with new persona.
5:21 ...wahaha, passing through like BOSS ~
Best Review ! Keep it up bro (Thumbs Up)
Haven’t got the chance to test drive the new myvi yet..
I'm impress perodua inventing anti facebooking collision. kudos to Perodua
Awesome review. I like the editing.
Man I just sick with modified car and wanted to find a new car. Perhaps this is a good choice
Good review sir.
Im also confident with this perodua brand
why perodua always failed to make myvi has decent ride quality, atleast less bone shaking
Do you feel that the driving position seem low? It looks like ir is from the side when you were in it.
Like always. Good review GC..
Word of the day: busy Facebooking lol. Good review man, very good
Felt you like are driving through Genting Sempah the old road...
