I used to drive Iriz too. It feel safe to drive fast but there's always something limiting it. As for Myvi (G1 & G2), it was like driving a beast (a slow one) but with skills we can tame the king of the road. Your video is an evidence of what this Myvi is all about. I am a Proton owner and yes, this Myvi will be in my shopping list soon.
Fast driver excellent skills tons of experience lead to a good run and the car will be so good. 👍 Any car must have skills to drive. Look at Uncle YS Khong, he literally can drive any car. Good job uncle.
After watching YS Khong Driving test, I suddenly felt that it's not the problem of what car I drive, It's all about the skill of the driver and how well they know about their car. YS Khong was indeed the Champion. Respect. haha
Well said Shia. If everybody thinks like you do, then it will motivate all to improve their skills. I drive each car according to what it can do. For ecah car there are differences in handling, and therefore it is true that some are slower and some are faster through the bends. There is also a max speed limit through each bend and this limit changes with the weather. If any car has the capability to achieve that speed, then those cars can go at max and there will be no difference between the two at that point in time. However, if a car does not have the power, ( like struggling uphill around a bend) then that car will lose out. Example is the initial 8 or 10 corners uphill - a slow car will lose out just because it cannot make up enough speed. Acceleration out of bends helps build up speed on whatever straights. Driving skills allow for better lines and exit speeds. Sometimes I cheat a little by throwing the car (usually a slow car) into the bend and control the sliding just to increase the exit speed because if I drive normal the speed drop is too much, causing the car to bog down.
Actually, going up Genting even past the 2nd checkpoint does not really require a whole lot of power to achieve in a considerably quick time. Experience with the road especially counts for a whole lot as you know what to expect to be able to keep a steady momentum. The more control you have on the gearbox the better. What really sucks are situations that breaks your momentum, this is when HP is required to recover.
Good observation on your part. However on some of the uphill sections, you need power, and any lack of it will tell. The climb will be correspondingly slower, with lots more waiting time for the speed to build up. Also, better suspension and tyre setups will also be evident in the car handling around the bends.
I felt the absorbers are quite hard compared to my earlier 1.3 Manual 2009 model. But on the highway it is more stable as the ride height is lower. Will change the OEM tires to Continental same as my 1.3 Manual.
Volkswagen : PASSED BY , WTF , ITS UNCLE ???

the smile, the experience. u just cannot hate this uncle!
Thank you for your kind words. I love my hobby!
Salute your driving skills la uncle! Power gila hahah
Sometimes I cheat a little by throwing the car (usually a slow car) into the bend and control the sliding just to increase the exit speed because if I drive normal the speed drop is too much, causing the car to bog down.
downhill is very scary, afraid of understeer and faded brakes. This uncle sure can drive
Uncle Khong 👍👍👍👍👍 I always told ppl its not what type of car but its important who is driving the car. POWER!
Nice laa uncle 👌🏻 it shows that skills cannot be bought
Adam Razlin I setuju dgn u..
when uncle stop talking you know he is getting serious. it is a pleasure to watch his driving
So much fun watching you drive uncle and nice hair cut BTW. Keep those awesome videos coming. Thanks much!
Hahaha, thank you.
I felt the absorbers are quite hard compared to my earlier 1.3 Manual 2009 model. But on the highway it is more stable as the ride height is lower. Will change the OEM tires to Continental same as my 1.3 Manual.
I think the third gen feels more stable at high way speeds too, the previous ones are good too but more floaty
The first gen is very dangerous to drive like that. A quick steer could turtle the car man.
Just signed up for a Myvi and now I am excited.
Uncle i can see ur serious mode On and u cant stop smiling after. hahaha
He enjoyed
