His induction of the CARS into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is one of the best I have ever seen. His genuine love of their music was clear. He was eloquent and as a CARS fan he made me love them and the KILLERS even more.
Zane is so right about All These Things That I’ve Done - it has a completely different energy live. I definitely didn’t appreciate its power before I saw it live.
I felt the power of this song after seeing a video it’s attached to: “All these things that I’ve done PBS Carrier edition”. My brother had just entered the Navy in 2011, which is why/when I saw the video in the first place. But I still get goosebumps when I watch the video with the song to this day
For me it was at V Festival 2007. I still remember the walk to the tent after it was over, everybody singing endlessly into the night - I've got soul but I'm not a soldier~
I saw the live version in 2005 during the Live 8 Concert and it was amazing! The Killers were a new band at that time, but they had the best live performance with that song on the same level as U2, Coldplay and others at the same event.
The Cars was my mom's favourite band. The Killers is my favourite band. Knowing Brandon inspired himself with their sound makes my love for the killers even more special...
I'm so glad that this interview finally happened! I know that Zane and the Killers go way back, but I didn't know that he was there during the recording sessions in the early days too. It's really like old friends catching up. Since Brandon was there alone, I kinda wished Zane had mentioned Brandon's excellent 2 solo albums that he made during the group's hiatuses. People should really check it out. IMO, his solo stuff in 2010 and 2015 was really great and allowed Brandon to grow even more as an artist.
Brandon is one of the best leading men of all time and best of this generation imo he's unreal. I wish he played more Battle Born and songs like Just Another Girl, Miss Atomic Bomb, Wonderful Wonderful, Neon Tiger, Andy You're a Star, On Top, Sam's Town, Battle Born itself etc, all incredible songs.
why I am so glad that Zane loves the Uncle Johnny riff also was awesome to hear that brandon's goal is to have all 4 of them making a record again, I wasn't expecting this
Everything Zane said about When You Were Young is soo on point! That song really elevated the Killers to another level entirely. I still can't believe that this same band released both Mr. Brightside and WYWY within just a span of 2 years.
He's so freaking cool on so many levels. And the fact that he shares religious themes and symbolism in his music makes it extra meaningful to me as a fellow member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His music has kept me going time and time again.

The Killers are my favorite band and have been for like 15 years or so now. They are so underrated but I really believe one day, they’ll be considered one of the greatest bands of all time. Brandon’s lyrics are just unmatched. I saw them live in 2012 and they didn’t sell out the Staples Center that year, but the feeling was more elevating than any live show I’ve seen.

I’ve always loved these bands and their songs, but time goes on and you stash them away in your library. Zane “reinvents” that love with these bands with every interview, and I find myself going into deeper cuts of their music each time as well. Great interview.
