Oh dang I forgot about the barrels at the beginning of Map23, if that Mancubus fires before you get to where you can open the door and get inside to safety, the deathless run's over.
So I think what happened in the last room was that you were hit by the BFG's tendrils which caused the massive amount of damage, I think this also happened in the previous map but was far less damaging.
I think you damaged yourself with the BFG. Just look how it completely drained your armor just as you fired it and then you took another damage just as you fired the second shot.
There is a major character in J.R.R. Tolkien's book "The Silmarillion" named Turin Turambar, which translates literally to "master of Doom by Doom mastered." It occurs to me that that title applies also to you. Big Mac "Turin Turambar" Davis. May you enjoy a better fate than he.
Dear BigMacDavis: - 1. You should be approaching the final quarter of Doom 2's levels, where hopefully, the toughest of the tough monsters, such as the hood-wearing Demon Tech Rifle Zombiemen, centaur-like Belphegors, appearing-and-disappearing Flesh Wizards, and projectile-spamming Overlords will be encountered. I wouldn't give up hope just yet. (Of course, if you had wanted to fight them from the start, then you could've perhaps set spawning settings to Death Wish mode, where only the most threatening variants of each enemy type are spawned, instead of what seems to be a gradual increase in enemy threat.) - 2. Against zombie men and imps, even firing 2 shells from your quad-barrel shotgun when set to half blast mode seems like a waste of shells. I'd recommend giving secondary fire at half blast mode a try (which would mean firing at quarter blast), since I believe you'd then be shooting only 1 shell at a time instead of 2 or 4 shells, and besides, you could always double tap if a single shell ever fails at killing your target. - 3. Personally, I don't think I'm sold on the micro-missile mode from your light machine gun, especially against weak cannon fodder like zombie men and imps, since it uses up 3 bullets per micro-missile shot, whereas 1 or 2 ordinary machine gun bullets might've been enough to put them down instead. Against cannon fodder like those enemies, I'd rather either go back towards using individual shots from the light machine gun, or use either of the submachine guns, the heavy pistol, or the nail gun, to do the job. P.S.: I'm guessing that the BFG-9000 was a bad weapon to use when explosive barrels are around, since those tracer beams don't seem to discriminate between them and enemies. Methinks that final area should've perhaps been better tackled with liberal usage of the rocket launcher.

7:38 It may have been the barrels, but it might also have been the hell knights. The paladin version has a grenade launcher. I got butchered on this map the last time I tried it.
Not tryna flex, lol, I just think those additional monsters provided a different avenue of handling them. Instead of run in guns blazing sort of thing. It almost turns Doom into a survival horror when they show up.
Hang on there BMD. At least you'll freeze lots of minor enemies around you. Barrels of Fun? That's all the more interesting on your gameplay here. As for map 22? Well, we'll see how you do.

if ya plan on going back to an earlier version of PB, youll have to go waaaay back but enemies are gonna be worked on more soon, its the big plan for the next while is enemy reworks
All righty. I mean, I'm sure they were removed or are being reworked cuz of people complaining, but I think they add such a tense and terrifying gameplay mechanic.
the overlord and flesh wizard in particular i think are the 2 core things that have been cut, both mainly cause they were a bit on the weird side mechanics wise, and i think sometimes their AI broke too theres that D3 trite pain elemental too, but no one liked that thing so its not missed and there was also the flamethrower zombie, which could probably be reimplemented since some AI stuff has been cleaned up, but hed often get stuck on walls for some weird reason, which led to him getting removed trust me tho, the flesh wizard is gonna be really grody when its done the overlord tho, is gone for good, but we have a better design and all comin anyways

It is nice to see the imps infighting with each other, someone should make a mod where enemies of the same kind (like Hellknight & Hellknight) can I fight with each other, and with other projectile enemies. OMFG 210 health no armor! 😲😲😲 You were just at like 500+ health and some armor, WTF happened? You said perhaps the barrels exploded, but dang I think something else happened! Yeah just your luck, low health and armor, just in time for perhaps the worst map of the run, Map22. I was feeling good about your run for the next map, but dang if all those enemies in the next map fire at you at once as soon as you teleport for that fraction of a second you can't move, you're good as dead! But yeah all that extra health and armor kept your run alive, but dang I'm worried for you for the next map, but if you can get past that, then Map24 with those narrow ledges are gonna suck, and then you'll be good to go until the Cyberdemon in Map29. 100% of everything as always! 23 maps down no deaths, 9 maps to go! Come on BMD, please pull off a miracle and beat the next map no deaths, I really want you to beat this challenge run no deaths! We all believe in you!

The map I think is impossible without looking at a TH-cam video, is the elevator map in the Master Levels. Hate that map.
