- An Overview of the NEW YD8116 Switch decoder.
The YaMoRC solution for switching and signaling: our 16-fold signal/switching decoder.
It presents the following features:
Sixteen independent 2.5Amp MOSFET outputs
Max 5 Amp combined current
Very simple basic-setup (base address), by pressing the programming button and switching the desired turnout address
No complicated CV settings.
Clear text configuration based upon our new ES-Link technology.
With our YD9101-Config or YD7100-Command, configuration can be done via built-in web interface: No need for PC-software or Phone/Tablet Apps!. Configuration also over USB from PC Software on the mentioned devices as well as our YD6016LN.
All of the 16 outputs are freely configurable from 16x simple on-off to complex and elaborate signals with up to 8 LEDs/lamps
Each defined device (signal, switch, turnout) can have its own address
Devices can be operated by the new DCCext standard or conventional turnout DCC-commands (throw/close)
Numerous predefined signal definitions for Dutch, German (H/V, Ks and Form) British and Swiss prototypical signals
Signals can include fading (Bulbs emulated in case of LEDs) dark-phase inclusion, black-out based on previous signal's state
Outputs can be time-limited e.g. for light coil-motors
Settable night-dimming for the complete decoder, with configurable address / decoder
Very suitable for motorized point motors.

James you are so talented with all DCC. Thanks for all your help and support
I’ve just spent 15 minutes learning the way round the programming of an 8116 with the 9100. This video helps immensely with this process. Thank you for taking the time to publish it. My initial impression of YaMoRC products is very positive - I’ve just taken delivery of a 2nd 8116.
Hello Andrew I am pleased you like it so much. More good stuff to come.
Thanks for the great presentation! I wasn't 100% sure what all the fuss was about (especially knowing the DR4018 is a great product, despite it being indeed a pain to configure). It does seem YaMoRC has really taken user friendliness to the next level; still requires some skills, but way more accessible 👍
I have 2 YD8008 and love them, they set up so simply and offer great performance with Hornby & Peco point motors.
Video coming soon about the YD8008 and YD8044
Good stuff James. These units dim LED’s too don’t they, if too bright and wonder if 1) you can recommend companies doing UK signalling that will dim, do fades and hopefully use common positives. 2) Will these units also cater for signals that include theatre boxes and position lights? 👍
Great explanatory video. You mentioned that the YD8116 lacks a Loconet connection and all you need is to connect a track feed to the signal power side. Not sure I understand Can you clarify ? My goal is simply have the train stop when red . I'm using Rocrail in auto mode Thanks
Hello, you just convince me to buy one of that. But a question...can I wire a servo for turnout switch and program the range and speed of servo movement ? It will be nice if you make a vodeo for that. Thank you
Hello this decoder is not designed to drive a servo no. They do have a servo decoder coming.
@DCCtrainautomation ok, thank you very much. I think I can drive a servo because it is a switch decoder so switch it s drive by servo. I sae some video about net device for servo. Thank you!
It looks like it is far easier to configure individual outputs as compared to the Digikeijs 4018
Interesting stuff! The switch unit be used in conjunction with a DR4088LN? I've just ordered a heap of Dapol semaphore signals and was hoping to use the block sensing to trigger these. Is this something that is do-able with this gear?
Hello Kodi What control system are you using? iTrain or Train Controller or something else?
@@DCCtrainautomation iTrain actually :)
@@kodibellchambers1290 ok so the signals need to be drives from accessory decoder and then iTrain will do the rest.
I've watched your video several times and for the life of me I cannot get the YD8116 to work on my layout using an EcoS . All I'm trying to do is to use the unit as a switching devise to turn 12vDC LED lights on and off. I want to start using address 289 on my ECoS as this is the first CV 1 available. Can you help ?
Hello what did you set up in the configuration softwear?
@@DCCtrainautomation I can send you the backup file but it won't let me do it here
@@gregtesoriero7053hello ok please send to info@dcctrainautomation.co.uk
@ email us
Will this system work with JMRI?
How does the Loconet signal get transmitted to the 8116 when operating the device? Is there a Loconet version?
This unit does not have loconet. You just out a DCC track feed to the signal side and then it gets its switch commands from here. You don’t need to connect loconet for it to work perfectly.
The software looks very similar to the one that digikeijs developed for their products, is there a relationship here or a collaboration?
Thanks for a great video.
The original developer for the Digikeijs equipment is the developer for YaMoRC.
Hi, can it run together Roco z21/Z21?
Etc. Koert
Yes it can.
What would I use for an USA 3 head Signal?Grn Yel Red.
I am still waiting for a reply!
I wish to use Dapol semaphore signals. Can I do this thanks
Hello sir
If you want to use the Dapol semaphore signals you need a rely on the output of the 8116 and then connect the signal to the relay. This is the only way you can do this.
Would this switch decoder couple to a Digikeijs system
Yes this switch decoder will work
With any DCC command station
I don't understand the flashing lights. How to distinguish between programming VS Normal flashing.
