    Thanks for the information. I feel the information could have been better if the background music was louder may be 4 or 5 notches. I actually came here for the music.

    What a great video. I've a D4. The user manual tells me I need to turn off the power switch inside the dirt bin. Can you please demonstrate how to perform this task?

      Hey Mark, I'm pretty certain D4 doesn't have a switch inside the dirt bin area. I may be wrong but this was a thing for an older generation of Neatos that allowed to disconnect the battery without removing it. I'd review whether the manual is indeed for D4 model and if so, possibly contact their Support to clarify.

      Thank you so much! My D4 has a tiny black button to the left on the highest part under the dirt bin, it’s not obvious - I held it down for 5 seconds and it reset and is working again! Thank you so much!

      Hitting that little black button in the dirt bin area resets the clean filter and brushes error message that wouldn't go away on my D4.

    The tipp with the right side bumper was very helpful! Always tried the right front bumper to reset and that didn't work :-( Thanks!

    Much. I’m dealing with a ‘clean your brush’ messsge on my D5. We’ve removed it for cleaning and tried again and still get the same message. Neato suggested I try running unit without brush but it still sends same message.
    I’ve replace brush unit and same message. I have a new battery coming in the mail but I suspect this is more a computer or transmission issue.

    After doing all the steps as shown in your video the light above the green light starts flashing red but D4 does not start. Pl advice

    I have. a D7 that doesn't do anything other than flash the house cleaning and spot cleaning LEDs in blue and green. No wifi, no battery icons light up. I have replaced the battery, tried hard and soft resets but no success. I can't even use the app as I have changed WIFI networks and can't get it to go into pairing mode. When it turns on, it doesn't chime either. Any ideas?

    I have a d4 but the solid red light of the battery and the info light on solid blue always appears on at the same time, can you help me?? I can't reset it. Thank you

    I have a D7 Connected that turned off and stayed off. It doesn't light up at all after pressing buttons. I took the battery out and tried it in my other D7 and it worked fine. Also tried the battery from my other unit in this "dead" unit and still no lights. So the battery is fine....but is not powering the unit. Any ideas???

    My Neato never would charge thru base only if plugged in, always dirt bin error and still won’t charge with a new battery even though light is green (full charge). Would never buy another.

    Hi, I'm thinking on buying an used D6. The guy said that it doesn't sync with the phone, he bought it used and never got to used it because of this problem and is selling it. What do you think of this? Should I buy it?
    Does doing this will solve the syncing problem?

      Hey Eric, I understand your concern and if I were in your shoes I would honestly not buy it unless it all works perfect.
      You could ask the seller for paying ' subject to viewing ' and perform hard reset. If you won't see the robot creating WiFi network (you can check it on your phone and look for Neato-XXXX ) then possibly the WiFi card is damaged/broken/not working. That might mean other issues on the board/inside that you won't be aware of until next few months of usage.

      Never buy a used robot vacuum. I have owned many of different brands and you’re lucky to get 18 months out of a brand new one.

    I have done a reset while wanting to adept a new provider network. Nothing happens (Neato network has to appear in the list of networks) and Neato doesn’t do anything on it anymore. Very disappointing.

    Video doesn’t complete a hard reset or trouble shoots error!
    What happens with a blinking red light on the battery when unit is against the charging base? Unit will cycle, noise is generated, internet is blinking but nothing happens?
    Any ideas?

    I don't recommend Neato at all. All sorts of issues. Including mine I have 4 references of breakdown of Neato robots and all disastrous outcomes for each owners including myself. It breaks easy and stops functioning with new range of robots. Older ones were fine but looks like in order to save money they started going after cheap designs and cheap parts, because failures are quite consistent with newer models. I don't recommend Neato Vacuum Robots anymore. And like many mentioned over internet, their service is useless at best.

      @@howtotechstuff No unfortunately. After wasting time and money I threw it in garbage bin. Others I know also are struggling and ended up wasting lot of time and money. It's useless. Such company should be banned.

      @@GH-bz2nw Neato has a one-year warranty. Always, always, always buy items like this on a credit card that doubles your manufacturer's warranty as well... just in case. Sorry you're having such trouble. I completely love mine.

    My Neato D3 works so flawlessly that I’m stunned that others have such troubles.

      I have D6 Connected and everything is perfect. I guess there will always be people who have issues but with the robot I find most of them are related to either environment, maintenance (regular cleaning) or user error.

      @MattS I truly recommend that if you're outside the return period, you clean every single bit of it, completely reset it and try again.

      Variances in manufacturing, materials and tracing of boards and components. There are thousands of resistors chips on the boards in these so there will always be problem units. It’s not user error or anything of the such.. simply the luck of the draw.

    My d7 wouldn’t hard reset but I’m hoping it’s because the green light is flashing to show battery low?
    I’ll wait until the morning and hope it works then :) anybody else confirm? The Neato app refuses to see the device, and I’m getting no ‘Neato-[x]’ network on my ipad wireless settings despite limiting router to 2.4ghtz (one set of instructions told me to connect to a local Neato-[x] when trying to set it up.
    Sis had added it to her network that’s on fast broadband, but we’re living in same address, but then she ignored it when it stopped working. So I decided to attempt to revive it for my bedroom :) (and bought a silly priced new battery)

      Hey Mindy, try making sure charges is working fine (cable fully plugged in at the back, possibly try another outlet), if you're definitely sure it's working fine I'd also try plugging your robot I'm without battery. Does any light show up?

      Hi Robert. Generally you don't need to do that for any of the D Connected Series robots ( D3 D4 D5 D6 D7 )

    I've been trying to make a floor map for 4 days now since i bought it. It always restart itself before finishing and no map is stored. Today I've been running it 5 hours for two tries to map but restarts, returns to base and forgets it even cleaned. Nothing stored except sometimes it stores half floor plans with a note that it is incomplete.

      Hi there, are you moving the robot while it cleans? Did you try running in smaller room to see if it finishes the floor plan? Any direct sunlight or reflective objects that could affect navigation?

      Thanks for your reply. Yes, when I run in a small room it completes a map. When I moved it once because it got stuck it made an incomplete map. When I try to run the initial mapping run for no go zones it always resets before completion of all 85 square meters and nothing is saved. Not even half a map.
      I've been trying to make a floor plan since buying it 4 days ago.
      Not sure if mine is faulty or they are this buggy and the root problem is poor design.
      Maybe my appartment is too big. But anyhow it is a pity it forgets its been mapping for 2 hours when it does its reset before completion. It should be able to save the progress so it can complete a map if a house is bigger than one room.

      If you are able to do a normal run, and you get a map (not a scan) of the house
      Then its a bug in the app or the robot is faulty (i had never problems with mine, i have the d5)
      D5 best budget bot because it has a side brush

      There's a software update but one of the steps in the update is to turn off the power switch inside the dirt bin. I don't know how to do that.

    Don’t buy Neato, it’s a pos. Won’t connect to my wifi. I’ve done everything, uninstalled/installed ap, hard reset the robot but it still won’t connect to my wifi

      Don't ever connect it, after I connected mine and got updated it stopped working.

      I also had an issue with correcting to my wifi. I found an old wifi extender in my computer junk pile (was only $15), and connecting the extender to my main wifi and then connecting my D3 to the extender, it finally worked as advertised.

    This has been a worthless purchase for my family.. it’s was slow to connect to WiFi, then I tried to hard reset over the span of a day, even took the battery out and it still won’t go into pairing mode..

    Is there a need to reset anything in order for the D5 to relearn new maps or a new home?

      Hi. Generally no. You should delete the floor plan first and add anew one; that's it.

      When you're on the app and see your robot showing "ready to clean" look at the top left corner. Press on 3 bars and go to floor plan. Once on the floor plan look at top right corner with pencil. Press on that and delete your floor plan. That's it. Once you delete it you can create a new one in different location/room/house. Hope that helps!

      I haven't used the no-go lines yet. So I'm assuming that there isn't one stored yet?
      So does that mean I can use no go when I move and that one will be used? Just running the robot from start menu from app doesn't store a map?

      If you have D5 Connected you should be able to create a floor plan and draw 'no go' lines where you don't want the robot to go. Now, to know whether you have floor plan or not do the following:
      - go to Neato app
      - on main screen press on 3 lines in the top left corner and choose 'my floor plan'
      See if there's existing floor plan and delete. If there's no floor plan you can create a new one by following the steps on the screen.
