actually, almost of the part of ghosts were took some of urban legend but as long as i read the manga till the recent chapter, it hadn't both of that two. Rather than the Turbo Granny in this series were got some modification from the story. The real Turbo Granny was chasing the driver who drive over the standard speed at Japan. It's just like a folklore which want to tell us, "please drive carefully."
The opening having a lot of different feels fits the anime well. The story is a mix of action comedy, romance drama, horror/sci-fi and tragedy. It's absolutely insane and probably one of the weirdest stories ever told. But it's a hell of ride
