600 miles of smiles on my Rave and it has been incredible. Suspension set on Normal and it’s deep without being too harsh. I’m able to use every bit of it in whooped out sections or big G-outs, yet attack most trail chatter at crazy speeds. Going to install more aggressive carbides before the next ride. Hey where do you live cause if you live anywhere near Wisconsin I got a sled for sale its 500 bucks 12 thousand miles with a long track studed and a 2 up seat and comes with a 500cc engine
this style of reviews on a sled is so much more entertaining then the super scripted reviews. Raw impressions with a bunch of info about the sled is great. More refined then what you guys were doing last season.

@@mitchellrolfe2356 yes youkeep the blocks, it is eay to remove them...but not much control in the turns when ur on the throttle , it it is loads of fun when u can wheelie your sled on demand.
@@mitchellrolfe2356 yes u keep it all intact , all u do is remove the coupler BLOCKS these r 2 rectangular blocks with a single bolt through the centers. Be ware if you r on the throttle hard in the turn you will have to back off too keep the skis planted...It sure is a blast 2 be able to wheelie ur sled at will.
Consider that the first RAVE from Lynx only descibed the first Rotax RAVE engine (Rotax Automatic Variable Exhaust) and it was actually written R.A.V.E on the hood for many many years. Google GLS 3800 R.A.V.E. to see the pictures.

Here’s my opinion you should send it to me and my two-year-old daughter and I will enjoy it for the season and tell you how good it is LOL it looks amazing. Wasn’t planning on a new snowmobile in the future but I would love one of these. That being said you do an amazing job telling people what things really are about. Probably the best job in the world you have LOL I watch you guys faithfully every time you show up on my screen. Absolutely love your videos.
This is one of the most entertaining sled I ever drove, suspension is great and even if brp owns them this is not a skidoo repilca not even clutches are weight the same. I were close to go for a 2020 Rave RE but didn't pull the trigger and still running Polaris 850 assault m19. But the Rave RE is hardcore and maybe my next sled😉

I like your video's and the one's on this sled especially. After watching all your video's on this sled, I ordered one for this season. I ride in northern Wisconsin mostly for the past 30yrs. I know my trails very well and me and my son ride very hard and fast but safe. I ride a 04 rev 800 and my son has been riding his trail converted 09 mxzx 600rs since he was 12. I bought it from a racer that got hurt before the race season that year. For the last 10yrs people have been trying to keep up with us and haven't. I'm 57yrs old now he 26yrs old. I been thinking with my age that I might need alittle help this season with more speed. I think this sled will help me go faster more easily. My son said it sounds like a sled he will be ordering next year himself. Keep up the good work.

Great review , although I am not a skidoo fan AT ALL , I have had only 2 "pretty good." BRP machines. A summit, and an XRS. It's a good think I had awesome dealer support , or I would have stopped purchasing BRP sleds way back in 2004.

We have actually been to Rovaniemi a couple times and have done the Norway to Levi, Finland ride which was a really cool experience. I think it might be good to do this again.

Interested to see riding impressions. Just checked the msrp. Looks a little steep, even with today's sled prices, but if the suspension upgrades translate into an impressive riding experience, it might be worth it.
Just for the record, in my area of Pennsylvania there are numerous riders whom are notably more aggressive and faster than me. However with that said and what I think Luke was referring to is; he knows I like trails that are whooped out and challenging. It appears the Lynx Rave was made for the trail conditions I prefer.
In north western Ontario where I'm at there are a mixture of both groomed and ungroomed trails.i also prefer ungroomed but it's nice to switch it up and after this video I think I found my dream sled. Put some skid plates and a bumper on this sled and it would be unstoppable. But for 23,000 Cad (roughly) I may have to wait a few years before I own one.
Great video Luke ! I am not sure but I f my memory is right my VMax XT with Tss front suepension , had a none coupled suspension , the rear shocks was almost as high as the rave and we had the option of 3 position for the shock to stiff the ride plus of course the spring adjustment ,
very cool, I would have loved a sled like that when i lived in Anchorage Alaska when I was a teenager and road ditches and moose trails all around were i lived off of Campbell lake.
Lol just aboutbfellnoff my chair when u threw that on the side to reveal basically the rear skid only longer of coarse of everybyamaha sled ever built in the 80's 90's. Hated that suspension but of a sudden this one's amazing....
@@Tmjpwns I hear ya. I always bought cheaper end-model sleds and did reinforcements and shock upgrades. After all the work I've done to the sleds I end up using my Race sleds for trail riding/hunting/racing. Hahaha
Great review! Nothing wrong with screwdriver adjusted shocks, one less widget to break. Very clean looking sled, function vs fluff which is nice to see.
Lynx Rave is more like the mx-z. Lynx has a "rival" to renegade and that is the Xterrain. Rave is designed mostly for trails and the Xterrain is designed for on and off trail riding. And they have even shorter variant of the Rave and it is the Rave enduro. It has 600 engine and it is 3300 long.
The Renegade is NOT a crossover sled. Skidoo no longer makes that claim. The Backcountry is the crossover. The renegade is a 137 trail sled. An MXZ is a 129, this RAVE compares most closely to the Renegade.

I've been a Polaris guy for 30 years and this is the very first BRP that has interested me, ever... I would buy one just based on this video alone. That says a lot! Imo this looks like a new improved 137 crossover that would have competed with the Polaris Axys Pro-X - which they discontinued in 2018. Without the Pro-X, Polaris doesn't have a sled that competes with this.
Fast forward to today, I picked up the 23 Lynx Rave RE today. I decided after watching a few of the vids and having a friend that had one to make the change from the Polaris Assault to the Rave. Now I just need snow.
Awesome looking sled, by far my favourite BRP that I’ve seen in years might consider coming back to BRP, would love to see it running and good rip vid! And see what you guys think, I think this would be great in Newfoundland!
The rear suspension pps is constructed by a finnish snocross god from the -90s, pauli pippola suspension, ski doo tend to behave better in deep snow due to suspension geometry. That said none of them are bad. I hope you get the boondocker and xterrain brutal, that is a test i would like to see, 20 inch track with 2.4 inch lugs 154 long with 850 engine
That skid is like someone took the Polaris Pro-Ride chassis and threw the over tunnel shock under the tunnel. Very cool design. As a Polaris guy I could say i really like this thing

Been out since 2009 when my Dragon 700 was totaled in an accident. Nobody was hurt, just didn't invest in a new one. I think I'm ready too.

It's definitely a Finnish thing, since our language is "harsh" the E doesn't come out "smoothly" as it does in English or Swedish.

Another point being a given suspension set up-no matter how good-can only work best for a certain weight range of rider.

Hi luke great review .it looks a bit like a arcticcat headlight down it's a sharp looking sled like the colours.
best looking BRP sled I have seen in some time, taller seat a bonus for our well over 6 ft tall.

Been riding the Speculator area for over 30 years and seen it at its best and worse. This sled was made for that area!
Luke for future conversions just take what ever the mm and multiply by .03937 to get the inch conversion. Awesome looking sled.

The rear suspension pps is constructed by a finnish snocross god from the -90s, pauli pippola suspension, ski doo tend to behave better in deep snow due to suspension geometry. That said none of them are bad. I hope you get the boondocker and xterrain brutal, that is a test i would like to see, 20 inch track with 2.4 inch lugs 154 long with 850 engine
Lynx was ahead of many even before the 90s in snocross due to suspension etc.

That skid is like someone took the Polaris Pro-Ride chassis and threw the over tunnel shock under the tunnel. Very cool design. As a Polaris guy I could say i really like this thing
I had Ski-Doo's and Bombardier's Moto Ski and most models ( not all) were identical except for the colours. Nice that the Lynx is a bit different.
My dealer is getting one this week, i plan on buying it

Love your show! I record every episode! The nee Lynx looks like an Awesome sled! I rode my buddy’s VR 1 yesterday and it is very impressive! Hard to believe how much better it corners than my 2019 850 Indy!! Always enjoy your shows!
On the switch cutout - the g4 has them too. On my enduro it's seat heat, defogger plug, and optional 2nd one for heated gear or aux headlights
We call it rave as you did in Sweden too. Excited for you guys to test lynx, they are amazing specially the pps boggie!
