It is amazing how a TV show can influence someone and change his / her view on music. I never watched this show myself. Only this season , because of Floor. All 7 singers now sound daily via PC and earplugs in my ears. Sometimes the single video's sometimes the entire episodes. Enjoy every time.
Adding visual emotion is something I learned from this show with you Valerie. Can't watch other singers now with great voices showing no emotional connection to the song or duet they are in. Especially Rolf speaks volumes with his facial expression. Floor does not show much in interviews, but on the stage she is an Oscar winner.

I'm so happy you keep revisiting the show for the other songs that have been performed on it, this was a rather special season for the very reason you mentioned, they bonded as a group, they became friends, and thnx to that they could give us these extra strong performances. Rolf and Samantha both have strong voices, quite different from eachother, yet they fit well together for sure. I've become a fan of Rolf, who i didnt know prior to this season, and i gain a whole different view on Samantha, who i felt was a good singer, but in a genre i dont care much for, so she wasnt on my radar really, but dang can she sing and is she a fun and loving person, she totally won me over, but... i still dont care for the genre tho :P Oh, i've been wanting to ask, and i'm pretty sure you (at least) know them, but i take it you are aware of Postmodern Jukebox? They got a lot of songs worth checking out, especially the ones with Haley Reinhart, Casey Abrams and Morgan James (among others, i'm really selling short here, not naming 25 more singers lol) As always, a big ty for the lovely reaction video Valerie, i'll see you in the next one :)

Like Floor, Samantha raised the bar high from the start and kept it there during the whole season. And you gotta love Rolf, both when he performs and when he just watches. Always smiling and what a voice he's got.

They were both amazing. I loved when they changed languages, Samantha singing in Spanish and Rolf in Dutch. Beautiful song. On the show Rolf said Samantha sang it better than J-Lo, well I think he sang it better than Marc Anthony as well. Thank you for another awesome reaction.
Dutch names are a bit tricky :-) English has a crazy pronunciation rule where they change the sound of the vowel by putting an "e" after the consonant: dim/dime. Our rule is just as silly, but different: zin/zijn. Samantha's last name would be pronounced as "Stainwike". I love her voice, but not the genre she usually sings. For me, Rolf was my great discovery of the season. But I do appreciate them all and I love their connection; you can really sense that they all became friends.
Rolf is SO sincere and earnest, the same with Samantha. And just checking that I wasn't hearing things, Rolf switched from Spanish to Dutch at or around the "unison" part, Right?
They are allways one week going to Ibiza, this was in April. So it is also for them a week of holidays, thats good for the spirit. This year it was a wonderfull group, but in the previous years you see the same.

In that case I'd like to point you in the direction of Dutch sisters/girlgroup O'G3NE (ogene), who also participated in De Beste Zangers in 2016. They also won The Voice of Holland in 2014 and were our representation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Because they are sisters, they have been singing their whole life together and all 3 can sing beautifully. Their harmonies are impeccable. Valerie I'm afraid I have to bring you some bad news. Denise Hofs had to remove all her Beste Zangers videos from TH-cam due to copyright complaints from Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS. Most probably she'll have to remove the ones from Dailymotion as well since AVROTROS will contact Dailymotion about the matter. I know Denise had plans to translate older Beste Zangers editions as well but that won't happen now. Lucky for you that you already watched (most of) them.

Samantha has incredible range and a genre versatility that I don't think she realizes that she has. Powerful voice too, like you said.
