Good luck in the Houston deep freeze. We got to 19 here near Dallas but no frozen stuff this round. Wish I had thought to cover my pansies.🤦🏼. I think they will put back out though, they have in the past. Oh, I did send you a message on Pinterest about the Jewel of Opar. I don’t get on Pinterest very often myself and saw a message from you. It’s wonderful that you have a warm spot for the kitties….and your plants too. ❤
Thank you for the garden tour before we got all of this snow! We got down to 16 degrees on Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning here south of Houston.
Thank you Jo. I'm watching your pre Enzo prep video while the mostly sleet is coming down in my area of Houston this early morning. Yes, us gardening ladies can "step up" and secure our gardens when necessity calls!😂 Looks like others have asked questions regarding your Oak Leaf Hydrangea. I'd like to ask what exposure are yours? I purchased a small one last year. I transplanted it from a 1 gallon to a 3 gallon in an attempt to move it around to try and figure out where it might be happiest but so far it hasn't seemed to do much. It's currently in a very shaded area so I'm wondering if that's too much shade. Yours appears to be receiving much more sun than mine. So hoping you can help me out on this.
We live in west Houston, and all my in ground plants that are all native to Texas is covered with pine needles (like we do in Louisiana). It keeps the moisture in. I am hoping with the snow, it will protect a lot of the roots as long as it isn’t ice. But i am sure we will be cutting things back! 😢
15:27 We had at least eight inches of snow yesterday in my south central Pennsylvania garden, zone 7a. Bitter cold temps this week. Im glad the snow is here to insulate the plants. Thanks for the tour. You could cut some salvia flowers for a houquet. I do that when I inow they will get hit. Good luck.
I am with you. Like a freeze and hate a freeze. Thanks for a tour of your pretties and your preps . But I do hope we get the predicted snow. That will be fun for all of us. Stay warm!
You still have so many beautiful flowers! I don’t have any flowers now, I wish this cold weather come and go fast, I miss my flowers 😊
Great video! Thanks for your tips, Jo! wishing everyone well!

Will jewels of opar survive?
Sorry you are going to get hit by the storm. but i am glad it is supposed to miss us up in the Dallas area,
Question: Is the oak leaf hydrangea cold-hardy? I assume it is since you didn’t cover it. I am hoping to get one this coming year.
We're you in Houston in 2022 during the week-long "Snowmaggeden" snowstorm? So much damage & power outages with about 2 inches of snow.
What is the name of the oakleaf hydrangea you have?
We had snow in the big winter storm Uri. Remember?
