- After my Thank You Video back in May 2024 the Doctors said my heart is strong enough for the Aortic Valve replacement Surgery. Recovery has been a long road but I'm getting better every day. On June 13th I was cleared to return to work and get back in the train room. It is really great to be back and I'm feeling much better. I was able to finally clean the layout and get back to my regular schedule. As always Thank you for watching.! Mark

My father had the same surgery way back in 2012. It worked great for him and I wish the same results for you. Trains have a healing quality! Glad you see you again and welcome back!!!!

The Doctor says I should be pretty much back to normal in the next few weeks. Sleeping is still really hard for me to get comfortable. I sure will as I do not want any setbacks. 👍
@@markslioneltrains Ive been off work almost two years and just went back. Had restrictions on me because of back problems, but was released. Had lots of train time but at 58, its too soon to retire. Take your time recovering, Mark!
@@joeystrains.9316 I will Joey.! Glad to hear you are better as well. I had some back problems in my late 40s but so far knock on wood I've been good since. Back pain is the worst.😞

Glad they found out about your Heart Defect Mark and your all better now. Dont ever want anything to happen to one of my best friends on TH-cam. I definitely learned about the Wall thing. So glad I built my new Layout so I can walk all the around it. I lost some space but in the long run I like it way better and its so much more Handy. You will too. Thanks Matt.!😊It's so hard to get to that area of the layout more so than I thought during construction. For sure I will never do that again.! The Doctor says I should be pretty much back to normal in a few more weeks. I sure hope so because it's hard for me to sleep on my back all the time.

Glad you’re back and feeling well I like using a small hand held vacuum cleaner to dust my layout

That’s for sure Wayne.! Highball 😊Yes I’m down about 5 lbs lighter after the swelling wend down.! I feel really good and they say I should be pretty much back to normal in about two weeks or so.! I sure hope so.! Especially sleeping.!💤 👍🏻

Wow Mark, I had no idea. Heart surgery, thank God your well now. Got to keep those trains running! 😃 So, will you be going to Oshkosh this July? Im going again this year, 2 years in a row now, lucky me.
Thanks Phil.! 😊The surgery actually came up on me pretty fast when they said my heart was strong enough. Very glad to get back in the train room. I'm not sure about Oshkosh this year as I have used up all my vacation the past month recovering. I will probably skip this year and look forward to 2025.! Enjoy the show as it should be fantastic.!👍

Good your back Mark,glad u are feeling better, LAYOUT looks great n clean 👍yes I agree on layout cleaning I rebuilt my layout in the last few months I'm still detailing but I made it so I could reach everything before with old layout I had areas I could not , anyway glad to see u back running trains and feeling better 👍

Welcome back. It's good to see yo feeling up to doing the work necessary to be ale to play with your trains.
My layout is in a room 88 inches square to it has to go to all the walls. I am painting scenes on the walls to make the layout seem larger. I operate it from an opening at the center near the back wall to I can reach both back corners and most of three walls. I can access the other corners and parts of the walls from the area inside the door and a sliding window which gives me access to the other corner.

Glad to see you back, so sorry to hear about your heart problems. Good thing your on the mend. Well we are getting older and things do change. I'm having trouble walking and keeping my balance mostly from the time I spent in the military. Also age has something to do with it.
But do what I do and listen to the doctors. Things are going ok but I just have to be careful. But that does not stop me from enjoying trains and life in general. Stay well my friend.
Btw I just tore down about a 3rd of my layout and redoing it. I like to change it up every now and then.
Btw Menards has not released anything in 6 weeks but something will be coming soon according to bob.
Thanks David 😊 The Doctors say I should be feeling more like myself in about two more weeks or so. Very glad I found out about the problem before I had a heart attack though. I had a lot of blockage in the defective valve so very glad they replaced it. No fun getting old but yes the trains do help. Glad to hear you’re working on keeping the layout fresh. Really makes a difference for sure. Be careful and take care of yourself as well and keep your feet on the ground.! I have so much Menards stuff I don’t have room for I’m kind of glad they haven’t released anything new in a while.!😊

Thanks Cesar you are welcome.!😊 I was just looking at the price these days and at over $400.00 it's hard to say? If you have hard to get to parts of your layout like I do then yes it is worth the money. I have had mine for a few years and when I purchased it they were around $300.00. It is fun running trains with it instead of cleaning the track with paper towels or shop rags.🤷
