Rest In Peace, John!! MANY years later this video still gave me new insight and that’s what we love and appreciate about John. He showed us so many things. A few years ago I never thought to do 5 reps and stop in order to save it for the max set. I always felt that I had to train close to failure on each one. This is really eye opening for me. Save it for the last set! Thanks for everything John. Your wisdom lives on. Tomorrows push workout is for you. The heavy side laterals in other videos and rear delt exercises helped me m develop a lot. Thanks again.
Muscle and strength is the greatest fitness site ever created I love everyone who supports it thank you guys I hope to make a sponsorship with you guys
I just finished this workout pump was so critical it helps how he goes over the arm angles you should use to execute different variations of presses. The tricep portion was absolutely godly as well really pumped up the long head the stretch gives it a full sweeping look. Even tho John is gone he is still teaching me so much, RIP king
Awesome stuff. I just never get tired of John Meadows videos. The man really has a passion for speaking the truth, and teaching bodybuilding fundamentals. And you guys at M&S do such a good job of filming and editing into enjoyable footage. More please!
Been watching Johns videos and learning better techniques and muscle isolation forms every time. Thanks John, keep the videos coming please. Most knowledgable straight talking bodybuilding instructor out there! 😊💪🏻
Damn John really helped me solve a mystery I have battled with. I noticed that if I lower the bench a bit more on the incline I feel it way more in my chest. When I did it with a much higher incline angle I would be exhausted but only in my arms and shoulders, but never sore in my chest. I don't do bench because quite frankly I think its overrated for me because I don't feel it in my chest. I used to only feel it in my wrists and too much delt stress on a flat bench especially. I think its the locked position of the wrists, so I got all my gains have been from dumbbells and machines. There a great pump in my forearms too from dumbbells.
really liked the way John put the heavy dumbells on the floor after each of his sets. Instead of throwing them around like most ignorant noisy meat heads he methodically swung them up and sat them down
This is really gonna be helpful. Thanks John! I'm on a PPL program and love it. Definitely gonna try this version out. Appreciate your dedication to lifting and sharing your knowledge man..

another trick if your by yourself is to rest the dumbells on your qauds after the set. dont put them on the floor. saves alot of energy and your back from having to pick them up after every set. your qauds will ache at first but get used to it.
John, I am a bit tall and the Smith Machines at my gym do not allow my to stand up and press up. Any ideas on a good exercise here to switch out with the overhead smith machine press. I feel when I sit my back arches too much and I am afraid at causing damage as opposed to training my shoulders. Thank you so much for all you have done for the bodybuilding world and helping us amateurs.
How much calf activation do you get picking up those dumbbells? Can you get any forearm activation holding those dumbbells? Should you activate your abdominals when your bench pressing? Which muscles do you activate and which muscles do you not activate when you do a bench press?
Serious question ... why do people wear belts when they are benching? Your spine is not compressed when compared to a squat or deadlift. I understand that building thoracic pressure or intra-abdominal pressure is important, but why in these lifts?
Wow, you did the research on decline with chest activation and how it takes strain off your shoulders?? You sure Yates didn’t tell everyone this 25 years ago?

I like this idea... working up to a top set
R.I.P the great John Meadows, great professional and even greater person
Been doing this routine and those pec minor dips are nice since I don't have the shoulder mobility to do regular dips.
Best info on chest training you can find! Especially the incline dumbell explanation. Try it!

When U actually arch your back while bench pressing, U engaging your lower back so just for safety xD
