    you're a great teacher! i started knitting a pillow for my friend for her birthday but im a very slow knitter and realized i wouldn't have it done in time, this stitch saved my idea for the pillow because it looks similar to the knit stitch i was using. thanks!😊

      This detail is included in the description area above. Click "See More" or the little arrow next to the name of the video "Easy Crochet Alpine Stitch Pillow". Start with a chain of 51 and make as many rows as you need for the length of the pillow (16 inches). Thank you for watching!

    First time attempting a pillow cover. I am using yarn with a J hook (yarn actually called for K but I only have J). My pillow is 16x16 but 55 is way too big. I want the length to be a little on the small side, right? I read somewhere it's better to be snug than a little loose. If you just hold up the foundation row to the pillow, should it just lie on it flat or make it a little smaller, if that makes sense? Thanks!

    • @CrazyCoolCrochet
      @CrazyCoolCrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm so happy you're trying my pillow cover! In the description area above (where it says Show More) it says: For 16 x 16 start with a chain of 55.
      The pattern calls for an H hook. Doesn't matter what the yarn calls for. J will cause larger stitches so be sure you use a tighter tension. And use a #4 yarn that the pattern calls for. Hope this helps!

    I'm trying to figure out how to make this pattern with a yarn that states on the package that 1" = 4 sc. I can't figure out how to compare this against the Loops & Threads Soft & Shiny which does not have that information on its package. Please help! (I'm a beginner in case that isn't obvious. :))

    • @CrazyCoolCrochet
      @CrazyCoolCrochet  ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't worry about what the package (wrapper) says. Just get a #4 yarn and follow the tutorial. Using a softer #4 with a bit of sheen like I used gives you a more sophisticated look. After you work the first couple of rows hold the work against your pillow to check for fit. Adjust your hook size if you need to go bigger or smaller. Or grab the written pattern for different size pillow. Have fun. Don't over think.

    • @CrazyCoolCrochet
      @CrazyCoolCrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Dalia. It could be a tension issue. Tension makes a huge difference in the outcome. Or maybe the yarn used? You can still salvage this by starting with a foundation chain in multiples of 2 plus 1. Make your chain longer. Hope this helps!
