I agree with the OP; Sui Lu is definitely my favorite beam-worker of all time. Regarding the follow-up posts, wasn't her performance in the London EF *slightly* better? I don't recall any checks or hesitations, but she did have a small step forward on her landing at the Olympics (if I remember correctly) 🤔
Sui Lu (CHN) is amazing, she is very pretty , beautiful but also very gifted at the beam plus she knows very well dancing like the dance floor I really like his routine that I find very beautiful to look if she is really very versatile and has several medal win money and it's very good for her , she well deserved , it like Sui Lu (CHN) . She is amazing .
All I could say is WOW. In my opinion, I think she should've won gold in London. I normally don't agree with people saying this gymnast or that gymnast is robbed but she definitely was robbed in London. Deng may have had a slightly higher difficulty but she had the superior routine.
Unfortunately she had a small step after back pike and didn’t do her full L-turn + full turn connection. Deng was not as clean (sui lu’s front pike is way better executed), but she had no errors and did an extra connection
Thomas Kroon I noticed that too. Really it just comes down to that. And she missed the full turn out of the Horz. turn connection. But I miss her exquiste work.
Sui is AMAZING, no doubt about that and I'm so happy she never gave up and finally won this gold. But to be honest I miss the choreography and artistry the chinese used to have in the past.
No they're not. Sui Lu and Yao Jinnan have the same coach (same coaching group), He Kexin and Tan Sixin are in another coaching group, Huang Qiushuang is in another. Jiang Yuyuan is in yet another (along with Deng Linlin). The Chinese girls are all close as teammates because they live in dormitories and share lives together but in training, they are in different coaching groups thereby under different coaches. Wu Liufang, who was the alternate, is in the same coaching group as Huang Qiushuang.
@ChainChomp2 and her set in chinese nationals (EF) in 2011 is one of the best one in my opinion. she even stuck her double pike dismount.^^ just awesome. and usually her sets in nationals are as good as this one from 2010.
I agree too! Sui Lu is an amazing gymnast and she worked very hard to get there, but there are sometimes when I don't like her sportmanship. And yes, Deng had 0.1 more in difficulty and the same E-score (9.000) than Sui Lu.
OP: I know you're responding to someone's comment, but I don't know which one. It's crazy to me that her crying is even mentioned. I thought she handled narrowly-missing an Olympic medal quite well.
I love sui lu she murdered the beam right here!! But she could have been a better sport to her teammates especially to deng in london. Deng's first tumbling pass in that olympic bb final is beyond!! And she executed briliiantly!! Sui had a few balance checks and a low landing on her dismount!! I love her but i have to call it like i see it!!! Here is absolutely flawless tho!!!
If you watched the Olympics then you'd see that Aly goes and congratulate everyone for every event. I thought she went overboard with it. So you can't base it on just on competition. Her coach was congrating Catalina Ponor as well.
@j3ennif3r While watching this on my computer I was reminded so much of Fan Ye who I had the opportunity to spectate her in person win her gold medal back in Anaheim in 2003! She too seemed like she only didn't want to hurt the team but instead destroyed her competition!
im chinese and i was thinking - was there a need to be that spot on perfect?!?! like 0 deduction there!! she could have got the gold easily enough even if she had a minor fault!!
Okay? Sure Wieber is world champion, and sure Geddart congratulates the gymnasts from other countries...what makes them related or relevant to each other? I didn't know world championship titles were given based on attitude...
The only thing I don’t like about Sui Lu is how she looks back to see the end of the beam. It seems like a bad habit she never got rid of... other gymnasts tap the end to feel out where they are.
@AndreitaAngels that's so weird.. i guess it is the cross racial identification problem...in china or even in asia...sui lu seems kinda mature already. so many ppl had questioned deng linlin's age back in 2008 and she hasnt really changed for all these yrs. that;s just how they look like. seriously, sui lu looks a lot more mature than most of the juniors or seniors in my school. and it's a typical high school in china.
I like how she always tilts her head back and sighs with relief every time she dismounts
Sui Lu is probably one of my favourite beam workers of all time. So so clean, attacks her elements, but is so graceful as well.
This is probably one of the best balance beam routines of history
goodyougetastar Agreed.

so sad Sui Lu didnt win next year's olympic gold medal...
She is my favorite beam worker ever.
Even her adjustments are graceful. I can't get enough of her style. So beautiful.
so bad she didnt win a gold next year in the olpymic///
Well deserved gold and E score. I miss her . Probably one of the lasts Chinese gymansts to have the old school Chinese style and power.
Old school?
I re-watch this routine all the time. She's amazing!
I love how smooth, precise, aggressive, and elegant her leg up full turn to second full turn is. Epitomizes her overall style
One of the most beautiful beam routines in the world.
Those two double spins though, GORGEOUS!
All I could say is WOW. In my opinion, I think she should've won gold in London. I normally don't agree with people saying this gymnast or that gymnast is robbed but she definitely was robbed in London. Deng may have had a slightly higher difficulty but she had the superior routine.
Deng changed the routine after watching SUIs performance to win gold.
@@starjp8429 No she didn't change the routine, she just hit all the connections she had planned to do !
It all boiled down to execution. DLL executed better than Sui that night.
Unfortunately she had a small step after back pike and didn’t do her full L-turn + full turn connection. Deng was not as clean (sui lu’s front pike is way better executed), but she had no errors and did an extra connection
I think she is one of the most elegant beam worker.
I feel like Sui LU would have killed everyone in this gymnastics cycle. ALso missing the cute Yao Jinnan.
Jinnan might come back this year at OG!😄
Yes ! I'm so agree the would won Gold and Silver again
She is really the best in bb.
i love how she sighed with relief at the end of her routine
Same. She did the same at the Olympics the following year.
I love her arm choreography... Even her moving hands look graceful on the beam.
the most tenderest part was when sui celebrated with jordyn's coach and Aly, loved it
This will always be one of my favorite beam routines. Absolutely gorgeous.
Gorgeous, the smoothness, the difficulty ... and that execution score, bonkers!
The best routine ever!. It is just perfect
Agreed, but her 2011 Chinese Nationals Beam Performance was even better and you can watch it here as well.
i love how yao jinnan always looks so happy for her teammates, even if they beat her
one of the highlights at these Worlds. I'm in awe if this routine! love Sui Lu :):):):).
I miss her ❤️
Why u said that?
In London she had an extra step after the back pike and dismount.
Still an amazing routine, should've won gold over Deng Linlin.
She also had a low chest landing on her double pike, with the step it's a 0.2 deduction that took out her gold.
Thomas Kroon I noticed that too. Really it just comes down to that. And she missed the full turn out of the Horz. turn connection. But I miss her exquiste work.
She also did not attempt to connect 2 turns or she could have tied with DLL.
Deng's landing was lower than hers and also had a bigger step on her landing!! I personally think deng was overscored.
The US coaches and both Raisman and Wieber giving Sui Lu high fives and handshakes put a smile on my face...very nice of them.
Queen
Graceful and elegant!
Sui Lu did a best BB routine.
i have never seen a beam routine without a single wobble/balance check! This the first one! The best beam routine i have ever ever ever seen!
I think Nastia had one at the 2008 Pacific Rims, but obviously this routine was much more difficult.
Fan Ye 2003 worlds
She good... she's very good
She is an amazing young lady.❤️
So beautiful and so perfect
That was so Clean ! OMG amazing !
Sui is AMAZING, no doubt about that and I'm so happy she never gave up and finally won this gold. But to be honest I miss the choreography and artistry the chinese used to have in the past.
mindblowing!
Gorgeous routine.
Aww, I teared up when she cried and lost the Olympic Gold Medal in beam to Deng Linlin.
me too!
You gotta love Sui Lu. She enslaved the beam
Wow! Just amazing!! Love from Mexico!

Full L + full turn on the same leg is so iconic!
So good. If China had her right now, they would get something in OG BB
@ChainChomp2 and her set in chinese nationals (EF) in 2011 is one of the best one in my opinion. she even stuck her double pike dismount.^^ just awesome. and usually her sets in nationals are as good as this one from 2010.
Sharp and crispy ❤️
I agree too! Sui Lu is an amazing gymnast and she worked very hard to get there, but there are sometimes when I don't like her sportmanship. And yes, Deng had 0.1 more in difficulty and the same E-score (9.000) than Sui Lu.
One of the greatest!
I love the BBC commenters !!!!!!!!
Fantastic routine! So steady and sure. Just spectacular.
Wonderful girl❤
o my god it's perfect!!
R u talking abt her crying in the Olympics? I think thats just natural:( and i think shes just not good at expressing emotions
Agree ! London was her last olympics and she wanted the Gold, she was so near that's why she cryed
OP: I know you're responding to someone's comment, but I don't know which one. It's crazy to me that her crying is even mentioned. I thought she handled narrowly-missing an Olympic medal quite well.
Olympic *GOLD* medal, I meant
I love sui lu she murdered the beam right here!! But she could have been a better sport to her teammates especially to deng in london. Deng's first tumbling pass in that olympic bb final is beyond!! You mean !
she cried. she has the right to be disappointed.
The most Beautiful beam routine in history
I love these commentors
This is the of all time best routine ever
Indeed she will!! Let's hope she's consistent at london!

3:10 Wth was yao doing? Lol
a well deserved medal!
is that the sentenced US doctor Larry at 2:00 ??!!!
Yes it is...
the last graceful classy elegant beam girl!!! all i see now are those linebacker looking american girls stomping like a horse on the beam!!
Awesome
The best.
So confident, Yao took a lot of pressures off her
her teammates look so happy for her too :)
Increíble!!❤❤❤
太厉害了
Beautiful
Jiang Yuyuan, Huang Qiushuang, and Wu Liufang
what happened after this? are they not producing any more great beam workers?
They still do. Just that the beam specialists after Sui are either inconsistent or getting injured.
@Gazmeister Wongatron Gold AND silver :)
@1797rachel There was a slight balance check after her Barani.
wow! amazing
If she performs like this in the Olympics, she'll have gold!
Wow! I love her routine
Wooooow! Amazing !
3:10 🤣🤣🤣
if she performs like this in the olympics, she'll have a shot at gold!
@algae787 well...yea! Good eyesight! even though, it is still a well-polished routine!
Wow
Sui Lu anytime is better than Simone Biles on the beam . Huhu
it's not even close. this girl is light years better.
shes so beautiful and powerful shes my favorite from the chinese
Unfortunate to never have the piked Grigoras named after her because she never perform it successfully in recognized competitions.
@1797rachel Her TF set was even better!!
@toffoliausfloripa ok! :) I will check it out! :) Thanks!
What does Yao do at 03.12?
im chinese and i was thinking - was there a need to be that spot on perfect?!?! like 0 deduction there!! she could have got the gold easily enough even if she had a minor fault!!
at this comp? She did. at the Olympics? I agree..
Okay? Sure Wieber is world champion, and sure Geddart congratulates the gymnasts from other countries...what makes them related or relevant to each other? I didn't know world championship titles were given based on attitude...
❤❤❤🎉
1 dislike? Must be weiber
旁边那个穿着白色和服,举着牌子的哥哥好他妈的帅
Doesn't she have the best aerial walkover?
hahaha alexandra raisman knew she wouldnt get a medal after sui lu's performance
She probably knew before Sui Lu's set as well :)
Who was 1st qualifier?
Komova
The only thing I don’t like about Sui Lu is how she looks back to see the end of the beam. It seems like a bad habit she never got rid of... other gymnasts tap the end to feel out where they are.
Bravo!
👍👍
@Whitelazyfox probably Jordyn Wieber!
i like her , i think she is the only elegant chinesse gymnast well done !!
