    One thing people need to realize. Is the picks are not as valued this year by other teams. Especially a team like okc or Memphis. They both already have a very young good core. They don’t need to add more younger players. But we do. Trade yak. Tank for 2025. AND add whatever talent you can from 2024 draft because other teams don’t value these pics as much as 2025/2026. So the picks are easier to acquire. Plus Masai can find talent. There is talent. It’s just not super star stacked

      Let's tank when the NBA does not reward the tanking teams in the draft Lottery... Let's make IQ, SB and RJ want to leave this dumpster fire- huh? Let's just turn into Detroit North. Raps 30th anniversary is next season and MLSE has events and celebrations planned for the entire season plus merchandise to sell- I don't think tanking aka stanking is on the menu.

    You realize the Raptors are a play-in or could be playoff team currently as constructed, if coached right. Barnes, Poeltl, Quickley and RJ. They just have to re-arrange everyone else and add tons shooting and rebounding. Let Gary go, trade Boucher & Brown, use the draft picks & free agency to add rebounding & shooting.

      We got 6 guys worth any note, if you going to rise you are going to need 10 because when you start climbing you don't get new talent in the door to trade or build with. You are essentially saying this is the team we go chasing rings with plus some miracle signings like TJ Mconnels of the world and such. We wouldn't have much worth getting a true PF with and some actual role players off the bench beyound GD and ageing Olynyk

    I think the market may be bigger than we think for Bruce Brown, we've seen the impact he can have for contending built teams that have a good-great starting 5. He did it in Brooklyn and he was the 6th-7th best player for Nuggets on that title run. The problem is the contract and the poor shooting which could honestly look better coming off the bench as more of a complimentary piece for a team like the Clippers, Bucks, Celtics etc.
    Jakob Poetl might be a tougher sell given how limited of a player he is. If he weren't a 7 footer the market would look a lot worse for him as there are at least 10 -15 non all star centers that are better than him right now. The best fit for him would be Memphis, OKC. Ideally you'd want to trade him to the West because giving him to a team where he'd be way better like Boston would be too dangerous. OKC have the money to take on his contract and probably too many draft picks to know what to do with (perfect for a trade package). They could move Chet to the 4 and get back some of the size they're lacking in the front court at the moment. Not to mention Chet being able to play the 4 would allow him to be healthier and even allow for better spacing (kinda what was seen with Minesotas twin tower line up of Gobert and KAT)

    Let's trade Poeltl and have SB playing next to PFs just like Siakam was pre Poeltl trade... not. Raps need to keep Poeltl and let SB, RJ, IQ, JP develop some chemistry together. Now if Memphis will take Brown and Boucher for #9 and filler then go for it.

    Extend and trade Gary is an option. A lot of people think Memphis might draft a shooting wing to replace Kennard. Gary could do something like that.
    Houston could be another team looking to move around in the draft.
    The Jak move is interesting I had completely forgot Adam’s was traded to Houston but raptors would need to insure they have 2 centers coming in because they’re still short a backup and if you move jak now you have zero centers.

  • @lancescott9851
    @lancescott9851 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Didn’t we acquire Poeltl to address our need for a center and to appease Pascal? The biggest issue is our flip flopping FO. We sign Poeltl for 20 when he’s worth about 13-15 but was worth it to keep Pascal…THEN WE FN TRADE OUR FRANCHISE PLAYER FOR BRUCE BROWN….this drives me crazy to this day. Take GSW as a template Masai rather than trying to be the trend. Build around your loyal star while developing a younger core. Scottie should’ve been told to shut up, quit whining and learn from the all-nba talent that’s here to show you the ropes. RJ and IQ could’ve learned from him too. Now what. Trade Poeltl for draft consideration…time to move on from Masai imo. His indecisions have been screwing us since 2019. This is a well documented fact.

    Idk why everyone creams their pants for a rebuild it’s the same people who were then complaining when we sucked all year I think Scottie is a guy to build around I agree with that but do you want to put him in a losing culture? That would be 4 years with him and 1 playoff birth I think we all forget that we aren’t a free agendas destination and you can count on 1 hand the amount of players who wanted to stay here and play their whole careers here, I don’t wanna risk that with Scottie put him on even a semi competitive team early and we always draft well anyway, I think everyone is seeing the Thunder and wanting us to be that but the difference is look how much they got for their assets they tanked as a better team than we were our best assets are already gone not everyone can do that it’s not 2k

      thats why you have to do a rebuild because its only way to build a team sustainably for the long term.
      you hear the saying fire hardens steel. well some adversity will make scottie barnes more likely to reach his potential. also there is a chance raptors actually find a number 1 option who can create his own shot putting up 30ppg so scottie barnes can just go into the draymon role and not put pressure on himself to be a lebron or curry.

Look at some teams that have been rebuilding and go absolutely nowhere for every rebuild that works there’s 5 that don’t and we might just end up tanking to basically be in the same spot we were just in like the 5-8 range every year
