    I got the sidewinder in 25 cal, but with a regular barrel, not the compact version. It is spot on shooting pellets or slugs. Mine came set with the reg at 150, but after shooting it, I turned my reg down to 130. Reason being, it was shooting 33 -34 grain slugs at 1045 fps out the box. 48 grain slugs @ 900 fps = 86 fpe. I can't speak on anyone else sidewinder but mine is accurate as hell and it definitely has the power. It was shooting 28 grain pellets subsonic. Maybe because of my lower elevation living in NC. As of now my pellet tune is between 965-980 shooting 25 -28 grains. If I switch to slugs I just turn the power wheel up with 4-7 clicks, depending on the weight. I have ran H&N Hunters, Hunters Extreme, Crow Magnums, Hornets, Baracudas, Poly mags, JSB Hades, and FX atomics and all shoot dam near hole in hole. 43 grain senecas pointed and 48 grain Hunter supply slugs are also spot on also and can be shot on full auto. As you can tell, I pretty much shoot (HP) ammo by H&N. The only pellet it did not like was the H&N silver point, but none of my guns in 25 cal, (FX Impact/Crown, AirVenturi, Hercules bully, or Neutron star) shoots that pellet worth a dam, so its not the gun it the pellet (IMO).

      I have the compact .25 cal,I'm get 1 moa at 50yard, I clean sort and oil my pellets with ballistol, And went over the whole gun thoroughly. Clean everything down to the threads when I first got it. Greased it up, real good.
      Put the barrel in with feeler Gages Instead of using an eighth inch, turn like most of the other videos recommend to do.. And clean the crap Out of the barrel after Every use, at least until the gun is broken in and putting it all back together Properly torking all the bolts. So maybe One of those things is the difference.

    1st off, Not trying to put you down or rain on your parade but I have those same targets, and I zeroed my gun @ 50 yrds also, and none of my shooting patterns looks like that using pellets or slugs. I'm hittin in the red with maybe 1-2 hitting high, low or wide. The longer barrel probably would be a better choice, plus more power.

    Nice video. I am new to air guns. I am 66 yo and be buying and shooting last year or so. Had no idea until I bumped into Airguns on TH-cam. When I was a kid I had a bb rifle, that you could almost throw the bb further than it would shoot, lol. Now that I have started into this sports I am absolutely hooked, I honestly am surprised it’s not a larger sport than it is. The fact that you can shoot in your backyard, and I have an indoor range also in my basement. I am located in Maine so the indoor range gets used a lot in winter, working on outdoor range now, but I will have no problem getting 50, 100 or even 200 yards ( I have a long way to go to get even to a 100, but having a blast trying). I currently have a 357 rattler, 22 sidewinder, on order I have a compact 25 , a 30 cal rattler and the new long strike 457 along with several others some top shelf rifles DAYSTATES, Wiehrauchs, AEAs ( which I have not shot yet) JTS, Air Venturi, Umarex , and a few others I can’t remember the names of those. Happy 4th everyone. Keep up the great work.

    I tried several different slugs in my FX 30cal. Maverick compact. I had about the same results as you. The only slug that was somewhat accurate was the FX 44.5gr. Hybrids.
    I also tried several different pellets, and the best by far is the FX 44.75gr. Keep posting your testing, I really enjoy it and like hearing the Pileated woodpecker calling in the background.

    Jealous of how quiet the 25 is. My 30 is still fairly loud even with a donnfl shogun or 0db magnum moderator. For my sidewinder compact 30, I've found out that the patriot Javelins shoot the best. The best being the 68 grain slugs. Nice video, mahalo for sharing.

    What is your opinion on the .25 caliber. Somehow I haven’t ever bought a .25. General over all performance. Owning multiple.22 cal that shoot 15g to 35g and a 30 cal that shoots slugs do you think there is a reason or purpose for me to buy one other that I just would like a .25 in the collection?

    • @MichiganAirgunner
      @MichiganAirgunner  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Really it would just depend on your personal preference.. now u can get 22cals that will put out the same power as a 25cal... I personally like 25 over 22 because u get a bigger hole in whatever you're hunting. It's not a bad idea to have a mid range 25cal for hunting coons in barns. That way u get the power but don't worry it much about passthroughs🤷

    Alright so to my main question bud.
    I want a kick ass new deer rig I see your taking on the dynamic I really like how I’ve seen them accurately shoot on TH-cam but I’m wondering and I know you know the answer to my question here. Is a fx dynamic 35 cal as powerful as say a aea high power 35 cal with same size barrels what I’m getting at here is I really like the looks of fx products but I don’t know if they really as high power like say a air force Texan or aea is known for power but I’d like consistent shots so feel going regulated is probably the way to go but I don’t have near the amount of knowledge or experience at this current time so if you can kind of get in my head and explain this in full if you don’t mind I’m sure this information will be of use to the viewers as well as me.
    Thank you bud. And no offense by my previous message
    but I had full intentions on spending over 20-30 grand with Terry and he spit in my face out the gate and I want people to know he is that guy as well as the owner of an airgun shop.

    • @MichiganAirgunner
      @MichiganAirgunner  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have only hit about 230fpe with the fx dynamic.. up north airgunner built one with a 800mm barrel and I believe he's getting 250fpe.. now the AEA challenger will get over 300 fpe pretty easy. If this is your first deer hunting PCP I would personally go for power over shot count.

      @@MichiganAirgunner alright thanks man definitely appreciate your feedback I currently own a 457 hp max 13 in barrel a hatsan piledriver 50 cal im checking out to see if I definitely want to add it to the collection which so far I like it and the 58 cal Zeus that I’m waiting for my mountain metal stock to arrive and I honestly can’t wait to take one with that but I just bought the true ballistic chrono for data and learning purposes so I’m getting my self situated at the moment and don’t get much free time away from work to spend with the equipment but soon I hope until then guess I’ll continue getting the essentials for the long run enthusiast. So after knowing that I have those already in your opinion if I plan on taking deer with the gun but would like a higher end would you go fx dynamic or would you go air force Texan bc Texan definitely imagine get a longer slug in there easily but fx is looking like a dam nice rifle drs and the dynamic I don’t know why the drs pro isn’t coming out in 35 my only thoughts would be bc of shot count but either way what ya think?
