Hm, i mean, there had to be just a few persons back then recording it? Dont know how that was back in the 60s, but the show had a good fanbase even back then, maybe the BBC should made a bigger effort on finding people who recorded the episodes back then. Atleast thats the hope i had, thinking about finding the missing episodes. Announce it in TV and Papers or so, because these people(if they exist) will be a fair bit older now.
domestic video recording was VERY primitive I believe one recording was found, of The Space Pirates episode 2, which exists anyway, and was in a completely unwatchable condition Most people recording were recording onto audio tape, which is why we have all the soundtrack CD releases (which are out of print right now for some reason)
@@marcse7en Or what if there are missing episodes because people from the future took them to avoid them becoming missing, hence, creating a paradox? Maybe we are living in the gap between the 60s and the period where people travelled back from to collect the episodes, lol.
Good on Phil for determining to check these archives by hand. They got messages from the BBC to return stuff and Nigeria did, but clearly there are a few missed. Lets just hope some more archives were as lax.
burned and on 2:05 it's crack. How could they going to restore this when BBC kept all the Dr who episodes but now all the Dr who episodes are totally destroyed 🙁
The fact that BBC destroyed many of their episodes instead of keeping them is a disaster. They SURE was/are idiots for doing so. I kinda doubt it but i HOPE that the remaining 97 episodes will be found & restored. Its NOT worth to destroy ANY movies & tv-shows or anything to make room for something new.
Classic Doctor Who Stories but I for one will take my DVD copies of Enemy of the World & Web of Fear that I got back in 2014 because that is when I really got into the series man oh man the BBC seems to not care about all things time and-or space plus what the damn hell were those film reels doing in Africa of all places smarten up Brits
I have a lot of early Dr. Who on video tape. I would love to get them to a professional archivist. No longer having a VCR I can't speak to their quality. Some years back our local PBS station ran all of the episodes in order. I did my best to record them all.
Doctor Who was shown around most of the commonwealth back in the 60s. The broadcasters would buy them and the BBC would send them copies in the post. No digital files back then! But it was a bit more complex because the BBC didn't want to be making new films for every sale. So they created a bicycling system. 5 countries could buy a story and the BBC may only make 2 prints, because once New Zealand finished showing the film, they would post it to Singapore, then Singapore would send it to Zambia. What we Who fans are hoping is that like Nigeria, the prints got forgotten and left in archives. Nigeria has sent back more missing episodes than any other country (besides Canada who sent back colour versions of Pertwee stories). Which is great but also worrying as it suggests that was the last stop for a lot of stories and if they are no longer in Nigeria, they may be gone. The Nigerian man saying he should destroy the episodes suggests he has done it before. And if there are only 2 prints in existence, Australia was efficient in sending back and destroying, he could have ended any hope for some episodes. There is nothing to find.

I ordered the dvd before this video was even made.
Announce it in TV and Papers or so, because these people(if they exist) will be a fair bit older now.
domestic video recording was VERY primitive
I believe one recording was found, of The Space Pirates episode 2, which exists anyway, and was in a completely unwatchable condition
Most people recording were recording onto audio tape, which is why we have all the soundtrack CD releases (which are out of print right now for some reason)
It would be funny if all episodes where found due to time travel.
@@marcse7en Or what if there are missing episodes because people from the future took them to avoid them becoming missing, hence, creating a paradox?
Maybe we are living in the gap between the 60s and the period where people travelled back from to collect the episodes, lol.
This is turning out to be a real archeological expedition.
Good on Phil for determining to check these archives by hand. They got messages from the BBC to return stuff and Nigeria did, but clearly there are a few missed. Lets just hope some more archives were as lax.
burned and on 2:05 it's crack. How could they going to restore this
when BBC kept all the Dr who episodes but now all the Dr who episodes
are totally destroyed 🙁
Find more before the film prints are destroyed Please literally a fight against time for these.
Is there any more locations of the missing episodes of doctor who
The fact that BBC destroyed many of their episodes instead of keeping them is a disaster. They SURE was/are idiots for doing so. I kinda doubt it but i HOPE that the remaining 97 episodes will be found & restored. Its NOT worth to destroy ANY movies & tv-shows or anything to make room for something new.
Aw look at those Beauties. Relics from ages past.
Singapore’s fate is still unknown...
Aww I thought it was a new missing episode found
Then some sod stole episode 3 of the Web of Fear, probably disintegrated now!
Classic Doctor Who Stories but I for one will take my DVD copies of Enemy of the World & Web of Fear that I got back in 2014 because that is when I really got into the series man oh man the BBC seems to not care about all things time and-or space plus what the damn hell were those film reels doing in Africa of all places smarten up Brits
lol They were exported/sold for broadcast widely overseas, but most countries likewise junked them after they were shown.
The like to dislike ratio is amazing for doctor who
I have a lot of early Dr. Who on video tape. I would love to get them to a professional archivist.
No longer having a VCR I can't speak to their quality. Some years back our local PBS station ran all of the episodes in order. I did my best to record them all.
Tim Buktu what? All the story’s like power of The Daleks?
@@blairm383 If it was on PBS, then yes. I had the bad habit of not writing down the titles.
I am prepared to share these with a serious archivist.
Tim Buktu you’ll have to try get in contact with Paul vanezis about these episodes
Or contact the bbc
Tim Buktu anything?
THEY FOUND THEM!!!*acting like eleventh*
Please enable subtitle option to all video clips
Just ask Peter Capaldi, and let him recreate the entire scenes. I'm sure he remembers all from old Doctor Who.
wait... can someone explain how these episodes got from the UK to Nigeria???.
The BBC exported them to be broadcast on Nigerian TV.
Nigeria was colonized by the UK. I think it was apart of the Common Wealth, too.
Airmail, most likely.
This doesn't surprise me.
I want to work for this guy
Well there you go don't hear much from him now wonder why...Oh yes hasn't found anything.
Missy should have been the next DR
