    Honestly, that too me would be a dream come true to go through penny boxes. I mean how awesome of the finds you found. I would be like you and spend hours doing this. I thought I was getting deals at $.20 to $.25 per card. I think it is awesome you show so much love for collecting cards because I share that love like you do. I almost want to go to Florida now just to see your card shop. I could enjoyed the entire video from start to end. Thanks for sharing my friend and Happy Collecting!

    Man, I would spend hours going through penny boxes, full of stars like that.
    Watching your videos has influenced me to start looking for odd ball sets.
    I am currently working on the 1981 Drakes Big Hitters set and have started my University of Tennessee and Knoxville area collection.
    Keep pumping out these fun and awesome videos!

      Well, I spent about 10 hours over 3 days, so yeah, I spent a lot of hours. Haha. The oddballs are great! And that Drake’s set is really cool. I finished it last year. And I lived in Knoxville for 3 1/2 years, covering UT, HS sports and the Tennessee Smokies. Some great VFLs to collect, as well as some Knoxville guys like Phil Garner, Todd Helton, Ed Bailey, Lane Thomas (I have a story about his draft that I might have told before, but I can’t remember), Trey Cabbage, Nick Senzel, Bill Bates, Chad Pennington, Randall Cobb and so many more! A LOT of great guys there.

    What?!?!? We go to Sarasota for Spring Break each year. I really like a little shop in Bradenton, but this shop is IN Sarasota!!?!?! Did I hear that right? I need to go there! When you say a penny, you mean actually 1cent per card....that is what is marked as??!?!?! That is sick!!!!!! Blue Breaks, I am going to give it a long look when we get down there! I cant believe I have missed this place! Love the Sportflics! LOvE the Deions!!!

    • @dimeboxdiscoveries
      @dimeboxdiscoveries  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Let me give you full clarification… Blue Breaks has two locations, one in Sarasota and one in Venice. The Sarasota store just opened a few months ago, so it wouldn’t have been around last spring break. And the Venice store expanded about a year ago. Both have penny boxes, yes one cent, but there are a ton more in Venice. But that being said, I spent 2 1/2 hours looking through the penny boxes in Sarasota. They also have good wax selection at both. They have two different websites, one for each location so don’t be confused. But definitely check them out. Also, the quarter boxes are organized by team. And a good selection of $1 cards as well. Hope this helps.

  • @Brotherjcardfinds
    @Brotherjcardfinds 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Am I missing something? You said the cards were penny cards, but that you paid 6 or 7 cents a card for them. Why would you pay more than they were asking?

    • @dimeboxdiscoveries
      @dimeboxdiscoveries  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      A common problem for me in these videos, speaking too fast. What I MEANT to say, but didn’t, is that they ended up costing about .6 or .7 cents per card. For instance, the first day I was there I bought 1,000 penny cards but they told me to give them $7, not $10. And they even tossed in a free box they had some markings on to help me carry them home. Which is super cool on their part. Thanks for asking for clarification. On the third day I bought 300+ penny cards and 4 quarter cards. Should have been like $4+. They said give them like $2, but I gave them $4. I couldn’t in good conscience give them $2 for all that. I’ve dealt with them before, and they are always good to me, so I wanted to be good back, even if it was only an extra $2.

    • @Brotherjcardfinds
      @Brotherjcardfinds 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@dimeboxdiscoveriesthanks for explaining. They must have an astounding amount of cards coming in to their store to be able to keep that many penny cards in stock. I would definitely be there all day. Thanks for posting and looking forward to part two.
