I hope you have enjoyed knitting this dress as much as we all have listening to the stories, right up to the elastic/safety pin episode. You look so elegant in it. What a fabulous achievement and a fitting ending to your 2023 knitting journey X
Thank you so much! This was actually one of my favorite things to knit ever. In fact, that might be why the finished object is a little lackluster for me. I had so much fun knitting it that I am sad it’s over!!
Wow, what a grand finale to an amazing year! Your dress is gorgeous and a testament to your skills and determination as a new knitter. I don’t think I know anyone who would be so bold and have as much success as you’ve had developing your knitting skills. I can’t wait to see what you create in 2024! Happy New Year! 🎉🎊❤️🍾🥂
Thank you so so much 🥰🥰🥰
A beginner knitter? Nah. I’ve been knitting for 10+ years and I’ve never knit something so involved and have it turn up looking so good. And you’re super fast! Congrats and happy new year!
Thank you so so much! I promise this is one of those things that looks more complicated than it is!!
It SO doesn't look like a maternity dress. It is divine and it's been lovely and hilarious to watch your journey with it. It looks amazing on you! Happy New Year from the South of France, G.
Thank you so so much! 🥰
ahhh I've been so invested and I'm so excited to see the dress! so happy for you!
Thank you!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Your dress is beautiful!! Have you considered knitting a wide sash that you could tie around under the bust to give you the cinch you want? I think the bow in back would look extra cute for Valentine’s Day! ❤
That's a great idea!
Love this idea!
I love this idea!! Red velvet too would be sooo pretty
Omg it needs a giant Marilyn Monroe bow for Valentine’s Day!!!! 😍
this is what I was going to say too, a bit of waist cinch would just be the trick!
What a wonderful podcast! I love your telling of the great red dress saga with all it's highs and lows. It is so hard to believe you have only been knitting for one year. Many don't accomplish that much in a lifetime or tackle such intricate projects. Bravo!
Thank you so so much! 🥰🥰🥰
Beautifully knit, cant believe you tackled this in your first year of knitting! Crazy talented.
Thank you so much!!
I literally said to my mum while we were making Christmas dinner "I wonder if Nora got her dress finished in time?" (We're both fans) it looks beautiful x
Aww this is so sweet! Thank you!!, 🥰
Yay! You’re here! ❤ I panicked. My Saturday isn’t complete without you. 😂 9:30 came and I thought oh no! Where is she? Yippee! Now my Saturday is complete/
Hahahaa I panicked too! Thank you for being here!! 💛
OMG you too I was like 👀 where’s Nora it’s my bday😢 came back and she’s here wooohoo
@@QueenBahahave a terrific birthday! 🎂🥳🎁
The dress is absolutely gorgeous, and it suits you so much and looks so elegant on you. Great job! I really enjoy your videos - they cheer me up so much! I love your energy!
Thank you so so much! 🥰
Your dress is beautiful - it reminds me of a renaissance dress for some reason. Thanks for sharing and for another great video!
I’ll take it! Thank you!!
Thank you for such a thorough, honest review of the dress, the fit, the process. We learn so much from each other! Love this community! And congratulations on an incredible achievement.
Thank you so much for joining me in the journey! 🥰
I honestly cannot believe you finished this monumental project. You're my knitting hero~ well done.
Thank you!!! 🥰
Oh man!!!!! I forgot to comment on the last video but this dress is AWESOME on you!!❤ Also, I definitely would have LOST IT on the safety pin situation…1000%! 😂😂
Hahahaha thank god for boyfriend! It would have been a full meltdown if he didn’t save the day!!
He’s definitely a keeper!
Ooh that shoulder armpit situation does not sound nice!
It could be better 😂😅
I don’t think you can call yourself a beginner any longer! Love the look of the dress. Congratulations 🎊🍾
Thank you so much!!!
Nora, you look beautiful in the dress.I am so amazed at how much you have accomplished as a new knitter. You are very inspiring!
Thank you so so much!!! 🥰
I have fallen in love with that little knitted alpaca with the brush. It is so adorable. I'm selfishly hoping you work with more brushed alpaca fiber in the future so I can see it more. 😂
Hahahaha. Me too, love all of her “knitting cartoons characters”
Girl, you amaze me. And that you think you knit slow is kinda crazy. Lol. That dress would have taken me 5 months. 😂. It’s gorgeous, btw.
Hahaha thank you!!!
🎉Whooo hoooo 🎉 Well done!!!! I have been knitting for about 21 years and just recently started to knit big projects…
I think an option for the dress, if you think you would like the look of it, is knit two equal length I-cords, attach one to each sleeve at the back, and then you can tie them together in a bow at the back. It would keep your sleeves from falling and I think would look beautiful and romantic! 😊
Also, do not sell yourself short! You are definitely not a beginner knitter anymore! You are modifying patterns to suit your needs, you are attacking (and accomplishing) advanced techniques. You have come such a long way in this year of knitting, and you’re a huge inspiration!
I definitely think that it is worth a shot! Thank you!! And thank you so much!! There is no real way to gauge your level as a knitter, so I never quite know where I stand. Thank you 🥰
stunning! such an impressive undertaking with absolutely amazing execution! as a fellow crocheter that began my knitting journey this year I am so inspired by your knits! 🧦🧶
Congratulations on an epic project! Looks so sophisticated and elegant on you. Not maternity at all. Thanks for sharing the pros and cons since most podcasters tend to give the impression that everything they knit fits perfectly. Hope you can make a few changes to be able to be completely comfortable. Thanks again for a great episode and Happy New Year!
Thank you so much! I’m always going to give my honest opinion on things! I’m glad that it is helpful for you! Happy new year! 🥰💛
This is such a stunning dress. Absolutely phenomenal work. As for the "maternity" silhouette, if you look up Regency era dresses, your dress has that same silhouette in the body. It's definitely a more historical silhouette that isn't seen as often today, but it's stunning.
Also, a picot edge and picot bind off are actually two different things in knitting. The picot edge is what you did on this dress. For a picot bind off, you create stitches while binding off to create your picot points. The bind off doesn't have the double knit fabric. It does take forever though. 😂
Great idea about the band on the back! Thank you-and I do feel like the dress has a sort of regency “Bridgerton” vibe to it. I don’t mind it one bit! Thank you for letting me know about the picot differences! I had no idea!!
Congrats on completing your Christmas dress and thank you for sharing the journey with us!! 🎉🎉🎉
However, I was wondering whether to address some of the challenges you related about the bodice and sleeves, would you consider possibly adding picot edging around the entire neckline to increase the coverage and add some reinforcement?
Also, at the bottom of the bodice, what do you think about adding some elastic to better accentuate the smallest part of your torso?
Anyway, just some thoughts as I was watching.
Happy New Year when it comes!
I so appreciate your ideas!! I actually think that could be a great solution for my issues with the bodice! A picot edge would give me a little more coverage and therefore I could pull it down to where I wish the waistline would hit.
As for the elastic in the under bust-I thought about this too. But I actually think it would further define the potential maternity look of the dress by really cinching it in there. I think the fit could be saved by just adding that extra length in the bodice and then a little pin to an undergarment at the waist line or something!! Great ideas! Thank you!!
Hey! If you add a lifeline BEFORE you start the hem, when you turn it inside to do the three needle bind off, you wont need an additional needle or pick up stitches. The life line will be a line through the row you are to pick up
I wondered the same thing! I didn’t feel like I had enough time to experiment, but I would try that next time! Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful, you & the dress! I'm so glad you were able to get it finished in time for family festivities. I bet you got a lot of compliments. You're an amazing knitter! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I really enjoyed following along. Stay as sweet as you are and happy New Year!
Thank you so much!! 🥰
It's so beautiful!! What an amazing finish to the year. This might be a weird question, but how many hours did you knit per day on average? I feel like you knit this dress so fast!! I'm a super slow knitter and I'm always amazed at how quickly other people seem to knit!
Thank you so much! Such a great question! I’m definitely not the fastest knitter and do just try to squeeze in as much knitting time as possible. If I had to guess, I would say that I had some days when I didn’t knit on the dress at all, and others I may have spent up to ten hours knitting on it. On average, it’s probably about 4 hours of knitting a day! I hope that’s helpful!!
YEA!!!! So glad you got your dress done on time!! I hope your able to tack those sleeved to the dress more because it's difficult to enjoy your new knit with family and friends when your constantly worrying about a wardrobe mishap going on. I think you did a beautiful job and am excited for you to see your labor of love completed! Happy New year to you as well I look forward to seeing what new knitting adventures the new year has in store for you to share with us!! 👍
Thank you so much!! 🥰
You’re fearless and the result is fabulous ❤ There’s always things we’d change but the skill and the time crunch pressures - kudos to you 👌🏻
Thank you so much! 🥰
Your dress is beautiful! If you're up to it, I'd encourage you to get the bodice right before Valentine's Day. It's too great a dress to not feel absolutely comfortable wearing with minimal fussing! Also, congratulations on your Knitstagrammy win!!
Thank you! I am hoping that setting the Valentine’s Day deadline will keep me motivated to correct it! Thank you so much!! 🥳🥰
Congrats on finishing your lovely dress in time for Xmas! Well done, you! It really looks great on you and the color is complementary with your coloring. There's no way you're just a beginner anymore - you're definitely intermediate. 🎉❤
Happy New Year, Nora! I hope it's grand for you and yours. 🎉🎈🍾🥂
Thank you so so much!! 💛🥰 happiest new year to you!!
Your dress is beautiful Nora. Beautifully knit and an amazing colour.
The picot edging looks perfectly knit 😍
Happy New year 🎉
Thank you!!! I want to picot everything now! lol Happy New Year!!
The dress looks fantastic! Good job!
Thank you!! 🥰
Happy New Year! You dress is beautiful and you did a great job. Looks good on you. I enjoy all your podcasts.
Thank you so much!! 🥰
You did a great job on the dress. Just actually finishing it is amazing and it looks great on you. Congrats!
Thank you so much!! 🥰
It’s my first year of knitting also! Your channel is one of my favorites to knit to! Thanks for all the inspo ❤️
Thank you so much!! 🥰
My favorite tools for feeding elastic are the Clover Flex n glide bodkins. I can’t find them on Amazon, but there are a few places elsewhere online that carry them, they are a pair of thin long flexible needles with teeth in the eye to grip the elastic as you feed it through - I’ve even used them for tiny baby clothing.
So great to know! I didn’t even think about it until I got to that part, but I never want to put a safety pin in my knitwear again! 😅
Thanks for this tip!
You did great work Nora! Such a big project! It’s beautiful! ❤
Thank you so much!!!
Super late comment:
Nora so proud of you! It looks great on you. While I’ve been following along from the beginning, I CANNOT believe that you knit this in 42 days. Not that it’s about speed- this fact just blows my mind. Congrats. Hope you had a great holiday season & beginning to your New Year, internet buddy. Take care, Anna
Wonderful dress. 🎉 Check out Nimble Needles version of three needle BO for seams.
Thank you for the suggestion!!! 🥰
Also @@akaNoraKnits you might consider putting 1 or 2 small icord sewn/ looped through 1 or 2 rows of honeycomb cables under the bust. Steven West did that through cables on his Twist and Turns shawl. You could totally do that to pull it in gently under the bust without knitting that stockinette piece larger.
Wow! Your red dress looks amazing! Great job! Thanks for going into detail. I loved every second of this podcast. Happy New Year!🎉
Thank you so much! I am so glad!! 🥰
Absolutely gorgeous and an enormous accomplishment!
I wish you a very happy new year, with another excellent projects! You are a joy to watch, with your smile and enthusiasm, with so much talent and open mind to new and creative projects! Good luck, health and many ideas! I'm waiting your new episodes! 😊🤗❤️
Yay I'm so happy my tips got to you on time and that you finished the dress!! I took mine off storage and I did add some thin sheering elastic at the under bust to give me some more definition but as you feel like it should have done the bust even longer. I had an idea of adding a pico edge at top to add more coverage but I don't know how that would work!
Seriously, you have been so helpful! Thank you! I was thinking the same thing with a picot edge on the bodice! Maybe after that, a little elastic could help out my waist situation? It definitely needs to be played with a little bit. But overall, I am happy with it!
Love this idea of adding elastic to the under bust area!
I completely agree with the armpit elastic situation being uncomfortable. I also hate fussy clothes. To make this dress less fussy and potentially allow for removal of the armpit elastic, you could add a horizontal band across the back below your neck. Attaching the two sleeves across the back will keep them from wanting to fall off your shoulders and it will provide support similar to the elastic. However, it will change the silhouette of the back of the dress. It wouldn't be that same super open back, but you might be able to get more comfortable wear out of a dress you worked so hard on.
You can also use the body & clothing tape to hold it in place. You can sew a piece of ribbing to sleeve so tape does ruin yarn, too. Looks beautiful 😊
I would probably just add an i-cord to the both of the sleeves and tie them into a bow on a neck to keep them from falling down 😊
I just love this dress and your 2023 vid was just great. I loved that sweater vest and everything else you knitted. Happy New Year!
Thank you so so much!!
I can’t believe you finished your dress. It’s gorgeous Nora. Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you.
Just in time! Thank you!!! 🥰
You are an inspiration ❤ The dress looks gorgeous and professionally done ❤❤
Thank you so much 🥰
Do you mean monotonous? Or that you're in an exclusive relationship with this project?
I can confirm that I am not in an exclusive relationship with this project 😂
It is a term that many knitters use to indicate that they work on 1 project at a time exclusively instead of multiple projects at the same time. Hence monogamously.
@@bestofemse Yes I thought so hahaha. 😀 The official definition relates only to marriage/cohabitation. But I could also see sticking to one at a time becoming monotonous (knitting project, not marriage), this is why I asked. So maybe you can tell me, is there an official format for a knitting podcast in this community? I see virtually all doing: new projects, WIPS, acquisitions, what I'm wearing. Sorry not in that order, but would one lose respect if they didn't use this format? I'm a knitter and so was my mother but have never used these terms. If it were an official guild, I could see the responsibility of reporting in an official format to knitters of a certain rank or experience.
@@akaNoraKnits hahaha it's not usually used except in a familial relationship. It would be similar to calling your favourite project a "suitable partner." hahaha
Your dress is beautiful! I hope you can crack the comfort factor. How about a wide-ish double knit band, effectively giving that greater contact with the bodice that you’re looking for? Sort of a shoulder strap that is sewn to the sleeve tops along one of its long sides and to the bodice back and front on its short sides. Hard to explain 🙈
Totally with you! I was thinking something like that could help too!!
Happy New Year 🍾 🎆🎊🎆🎊🎆🎊🎆🎊🎆🎊🎆🎊
It's just beautiful!!!!!!! You did a gorgeous job! - Kimberly
Thank you, Kimberly!!! 🥰
Yesssssss......I'm so pleased you finished the dress in time. It looks amazing Nora, you should be so proud of yourself. Enjoy your new year celebrations 😊🎉
Thank you!! 💃
Woohoo! A new video & you finished the dress for Christmas 🎄. Congratulations 🎉🎈🎊🍾
Just in time!! Thank you!!!
Great job! It’s a glorious achievement that you made. Congratulations!
Thank you!!
Enjoyed every minute of your knitting journey... Congratulations on finishing on time! Im loving your dress, you carried it off beautifully. Happy New Year!! Wishing you health and happiness (& plenty of beautiful thrifted yarns of course) Looking forward to all your 2024 knits.🎉🎉🎉😊
Thank you so much! Wishing us all the best thrifted yarns! Haha 💛🥰
The way that I am so invested in these knits you make, like, I was cheering....CHEERING when you finished this dress! So proud of you and wow! It is absolutely gorgeous!!!
Awww yayyy! Thank you so so much! 🥰
I loved watching you progress through this dress project. It’s all about learning from each project. And it looks great!
Thank you!!! Such a great way to finish the year!
It’s gorgeous! You’re gorgeous! Keep on knitting!!
Thank you so much!!
After Valentine’s Day maybe make it a skirt??? If you’d be happier?
Definitely a possibility!!! Once I’ve lived with it for a little bit, I’d definitely consider it!
Happy New Year from Ontario 😊....your dress is beautiful, and I was also one on Christmas during festivities wondering if you'd succeeded in getting done❤
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you all being here for the journey 🥰
Nora -- Bravo, Girl. You did a great job on your Honeycomb dress. I've enjoyed your journey, and appreciate your analysis . . . and at the end of the day, it all came together and you look amazing in it!!
Thank you so so much! 🥰🥹
Greetings from upper left USA. I'm so glad that you gave this dress it's own video. What a beautiful knit! I did see the finished pics at the end of your 2023 recap, but I'm loving hearing the end of project details for it in this video.
You and I both are feeling the same way about our precious brushed alpaca! Thank you for joining me!!
Hi Nora! Here I'm from Argentina -spanish speaker- trying my english so please keep it in mind while reading this XD...
I'm writting while I hear you and maybe you could add the elastic without hiding the endings inside of the tube -and hide them inside of the arm pit- so you could choose the lenght/tightness afterwards.
Love how you always explain the strugles and processes to the final projects. Thanks!!!
That would be so smart! Thank you for the suggestion!! Estoy aprendiendo español, gracias por usar tu inglés aquí!
You are adorable, I love your sense of humour! The dress is gorgeous but I'm glad you knitted it and told us the drawbacks. I think I may knit it in skirt form because I love the honeycomb texture. Thank you for sharing your amazing knitty journey. Have a wonderful and safe New Year.
100% I would knit the honeycomb again! It was my favorite part!! Please keep us posted if you decide to make a skirt!!
Your dress is beautiful!! Great job, both knitting and sharing!!
Thank you so much!
Nora what an amazing achievement! I think your dress looks great on you! I totally understand what you mean regarding the fitting issues plus you need to be comfortable in it. I think it would definitely be worth removing the sleeves & resewing them towards the centre of the bodice so it doesn’t slip off your shoulders. Could you also maybe run some wider elastic inside around the empire line to take some of weight of the skirt & cinch it in a little? Looking forward to your videos & new knits for 2024. Happy New Year from across the pond 🇬🇧
Thank you!! I definitely think a little sweater surgery is in order. Definitely something along those lines!
Nora, everything about you is just fabulous. Love your dress, love how it skims your body just beautifully as well. Your safety pin fiasco sounded so stressful I almost skipped ahead, it was just too much for my nerves! You are a very vivid story teller, and a fearless knitter. So glad to have found your podcast.
Thank you so much!! I never realize just how dramatic I can be until I watch myself back in editing 😂
Gorgeous dress! And congrats to finishing it in time! I have been following your dress-journey and I gotta say, very impressive to have finished it in time! It looks great on you ✨ To keep the sleeves from falling down you could add a tie in the back by knitting a band in the same fabric, or a contrasting fabric like red velvet? I think that could be very cute!
Thank you so much! I am thinking something similar!
The dress is beautiful! Perhaps adding a fabric dress lining would solve the bodice issues as well as any bum sagging from sitting. I admire your perseverance.
Great suggestion! Thank you!!!
Your knitting talent is amazing! You have grown your skills so quickly! Good on you!
A bit of advice on your Christmas dress; if you had added some short rows in the front of the bodice it would make the empire line hit in a more flattering place. There is more vertical distance over the front bust than the back. Adding some short rows at about the halfway point would allow the empire seam to drop down a bit. Just a hint from an apparel patternmaker 🤗
Thank you!! Great advice-thank you so much!
i really like picking up stitches when the patterns say "pick up 2 for every 3" or like on a sock you just pick up every edge stitch on the heel flap. but when it's "pick up 40 stitches" i die
Yes!!! This! Thank you! It literally will hold me back for a week before I can sit down and evaluate what it is that I need to do lol. Maybe foreshadowing a button band right now 👀
The dress looks amazing, and any knitter making this should be proud, but for a new knitter you have done a fantastic job, on all of the things you have made this year. I understand how you feel about the bodice, but I think you could knit some kind of a lace panel for the bodice to the top allowing you to bring in that more flattering shape you wanted, and add enough structure to the edges of the panel to attach to the sleeves that. Still the dress looks amazing. Happy New Year!
Thank you so so much! 🥰
You look like a Christmas tree topper (in a good way) in that stunning red dress. Congratulations and thank you for taking us on the journey. I love your honesty about the different aspects of the project. Every knit has parts that could have been different if we'd known ahead of time, but that is where all the learning happens. Cheers to a perfect end to your big year of knitting. There is a difference between a picot edging and a picot bind off. The edging, as in your dress, is the far more challenging task and yours looks perfect.
Thank you so much! 🥰
Yay for you for making a dress that fits you after you modified the pattern. That is not easy. Lows my mind just thinking about it. The original dress looks to me like it was designed for far chested women and the sleeves were not meant for coverage. But you pulled off a miracle and I hope you end up wearing it more than you think.
Thank you so much!!
Run an i-cord from back shoulders and tie a cute bow in back to hold those sleeves up. Or, criss-cross the i-cord across the back. It would be way cute!
Great idea!! Thank you!
I been knitting for 3 years and i am just getting to garments and textured stitch patterns and lace better shaping and finishing techniques. I envy your ability to learn fast and dive in and apparently find more time than i can to knit. Well done. Thanks for sharing! Happy new year! Also osi is the cutest thing i have ever seen
Thank you so much! I just love a good challenge. And I know I’m biased, but I have to agree with you on my sweet Osi!! 🥰
The dress looks great. Such an achievement! Could you knit on a frill around the neckline to cover up a little if you feel you need to…maybe just using one of the yarns only for a finer look?
I definitely think that might be worth a shot!! Thank you for the suggestion!!
How are you going to top the red dress drama next year? I can’t wait to find out! Happy 2024. 🎉❤
Here’s hoping I can 🤞 thank you! Happy new year!
Not sure how the sleeves are connectedto the bodice, but you could make a honeycomb lace for the back to hold the sleeves and keep them from falling. It could also go I the front to make it less booby, I've seen that done in clothes before and it can look intentional if you match it to the piece and use the same yarn
So so true! Great idea, thank you!!
Yes to the dress!!! Congratulations! She's a beauty. ❤
Thank you!!!! 🥰
So happy you got it done! I was thinking about you on Saturday and praying you had finished it! ❤
Thank you!! Just in time! 💃
The dress looks amazing on you. Can you put some loose elastic around the bottom of the bust to give it a little nip in for shape?
I think I might go down that road when I get around to addressing the fit issues!!
The dress is beautiful and looks beautiful on you, and you learned a lot. I would call that a win!
Thank you so much!! It was a fantastic learning experience!!
This is so impressive. In terms of the fit issue with the bodice not sitting right enough, I wonder if weaving some elastic thread in at the top or the transition to the skirt would help a little with sinching it in and adding some structure.
I think that could definitely help! Thank you!
Outstanding achievement and it looks amazing on you!
Thank you so much!!
Nora, STAWWWP!! That dress is gorgeous!
Thank you!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Dress is absolutely stunning! You should be so proud!
Thank you so much! 🥰
The Grey's Anatomy insert is everything
Hahaha thank you for recognizing that! I had a good laugh 😂
Brava!!!!!! hermosa!!! maravillosa con tus vestido rojo!!!!
Muchas gracias! 🥰
Thanks Nora🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
You're dress is awesome..and you are a joy to watch. I just discovered this video..am enjoying it soon much. You Nora are a breath of fresh air
Thank you so so SO much 🥰
I meant every word
You look great in your dress. Well done.
Thank you!!
Gorgeous!!! 😍😍😍
Is it possible to add knitting to the top of your bodice? Bring up a detail from the hem (like the thin channel of little “o”s?) as an interest detail and then another full inch or so of doubled straight stitching. Then you could run a slim elastic through the bottom of your original bust stitching? This dress is so fabulous and it’s so exceptional on you, figuring out this detail seems well worth the testing and planning stages to do well. And what a learning experience for you as well. You’d have more fabric moving upp the chest which would allow you to connect with the sleeves more and eliminate what’s properly annoying you. You’re so on point about how you want the dress to lay across the bust. It’s a real benefit to the contrast of proportions which this style of dress is all about. BUT - you look FABULOUS DARLING!! Just as it is. My comment is NOT meaning to say you don’t. You DO! It’s a stunning choice for you. No one would be the wiser. But you would know and have a hesitation when about to pull it out. That would be such a shame considering the triumph of your work. Cause I can see this dress with a denim jacket and cowboy boots as well as pearls and heels. Making the bust right would be like an extra extra chef’s kiss. Really hope I’ve said this properly. 🤞🙏 I’m a return to knitting knitter and about to go back to sewing as well. I’ve been reading up on how to make clothes fit our unique bodies better. As a fuller figure myself, and I love my body, I’m focusing on how to get knitted details and sewn details extra right for my frame. So please bear with me that this is my focus. I’m in awe of your accomplishment. And this dress should be so comfortable that you grab for it whenever you want to enjoy it. It’s truly a triumph. Maybe in July revisit it? A good solid break and then adapt it some more so it’s truly just for you. Soooo sorry for such a long comment. 😂 I’m just so rooting for this dress to work FOR you when you look so good in it. ❤
Sorry it took me so long to get back! I soooooo appreciate your advice here! I do think that sort of mirroring the hem details on the neckline could be a very sweet way to add the extra coverage!! And to pair it with boots and a Jean jacket 😍 I am right there on the same page!!! I am so thrilled to have gotten it done and once that wears off and I am ready to tackle the details and imperfections, I think this is what I will do!! Thank you so so much! I think it’s so important to feel good in your knits and this one is just sooooo close to being that way! Thank you for taking the time here-it is very helpful and I appreciate it!!
I’m so relieved! I was so nervous that I’d gone over board with my comments. Whew! Your achievement is so spectacular- making it perfectly perfect for you would just top the charts!
Could you turn it into the moat amzing knitted maxi skirt by removing the sleeves? The bodice would then be the skirt's waistband. It would look so pretty with a white sweater or cream silk blouse for Valentine's day - and be a bit more versatile as a skirt.
I thought about that too! I will have to consider it when the new FO excitement wears off and I’m ready to brave changing it!
I'd love to see a video on how you repurpose/re-style it, when the time come. @@akaNoraKnits
