I was a hotel last week with my family and I actually got into an elevator with Mo. I asked him how he was doing and he didn't say anything back. Then I told him I was a big fan and how I loved his podcast. At this time he actually got out his airpods and put them in to tune me out, again not saying a word. I wasn't trying to be rude I was just trying to make conversation. Never meet your heroes.
As one of those three magic fans it’s crazy that the Chicago bulls got like 40 combined minutes of talk time and we got a “Collin sexton cool who cares anyway let’s talk about phoenix” last season it was a lot of the same thing people would mention that we’re doing good then be like “but who cares? Anyway” I’m just trying to enjoy my team
@@jbwolf4 because its players who need to be traded, you’re team is doing well while dealing with injuries, theres not much to talk about, because u cant see what the team needs with your two primary scorers and ball handlers out, they love franz and paolo and i promise they care about them, they just dont care about trade talks right now because they are successful, same thing with how they skip over the celtics and cavs and stuff when they do one problem every nba team has, be grateful your team doesnt need a trade to survive (im a sixers fan 😔)
The comments of Draymond makes me see him as a liar. All of his career he's been preaching non stop about how he is a winner and that the most important thing to him is winning and now he prefers to lie down and wait until Steph retires just collecting his money. Shameless tbh
Sarr shows some outlandish flashes at times. His ceiling on offense is wild. He can handle, dish, shoot 3’s and get shots off the bounce. He needs a PG who can run a pick and roll and get him easy baskets tho.
Str8 out people don’t understand how elite he can be at his ceiling he just needs better teammates and needs to stay healthy and he’ll easily have star potential
@ he doesn’t get any “easy” baskets which explains the low FG%. The Wizards run a high p&r which usually results in him popping for a 3 instead of rolling to the basket. For a relatively athletic 7-1 player he’s barely getting any lobs either which is just poor strategy. With that 3 ball and a few spoonfed dunks he’d be a 15ppg scorer right now. To be fair though: he has bad hands at this stage in his development.
I really think that your MVP take and calling Jalen Brunson naive or anyone else who holds that position is a straw man fallacy. And perhaps this is more a generational divide than anything else. Donovan is exactly right that the Russell Westbrook MVP broke the MVP standard, opening Pandora's Box. And now trying to argue that it's a largely subjective thing that doesn't have even moderately consistent guidelines that we need to follow, invalidates a lot of the prestige and impact of the award. I think for fans like Brunson, and myself, who desire consistency within the award through some level of standard of measurable achievement over narrative, are arguing that because the MVP has always had some level of weight to it in our minds. Occurrences like this previous year and then seeing people argue for Joker while discrediting Luka for the previous year lowers prestige of the award in our eyes. It takes what is in essence the 'best of All-NBA' and turns it into the All Star Starters that are decided by fan vote, where the actual player skill matters far less than what's flashy and popular. And in an age of unprecedented advanced analytics "narrative" should be almost entirely thrown out of this process.
Do the Warriors and Kerr think they’re gonna draft another all time great in short order? I wouldn’t believe them if they said it out loud in sworn testimony. Teams work when a great player falls in your hands, it’s gonna be nasty for years over there.
mvp should have set criteria and be based on that so i dont have to keep hearing some bullshit about why the standard is different so jokic can win again
14:23 I appreciate it Issac, I think its my comment you were talking about, I was also joking to an extent. I love yall content and really enjoy every second but as a magic superfan it hurts me to see any slander. Appreciate the love and hope to see ep 200. (ps. theres more than 3 of us just go to a game ;)) Edit: would love to be mod in you chat and also would love to talk on the pod if I get a chance Issac ur my fav our of the three bc you talk about statistics the most
I think the revelation nickname for KD has more to do with how when he comes to a new franchise, when he leaves he leaves behind a depleted and uncompetitive roster in his wake
Have to disagree Zion fat jokes still hit especially when SAS makes them. It’s still funny. It will stop being funny when he can stay healthy for an entire season both regular and post.
The argument i heard for why Embiid won in 23 is because hes better. The argument i heard for why Jokic won in 24 is because he's the best player on one of the best teams. The argument i hear for why Jokic might win now is because he better. You cant value both best player on best team and "he better" at the same time, those are inconsistent positions. We ask people who watch ball all the time to have a set criteria and keep that criteria consistent why cant we do the same for the MVP? It having a inconsistent criteria doesnt mean the award is nuanced it means that it doesnt know what it wants to be. But i find the award meaningless anyways.
The Problem with MVP is more that all these modern "fans" are braindeäd losers, that are to lazy to watch other players and spam "its so obvious that BLABLABLA is the MVP". There are always many players that have a good case and your player being 2nd ir 3rd isnt something bad. They cant even enjoy the game of the other candidates, always js crying bout them
These dudes will do anything to avoid holding LeBron accountable for anything. Bosh, Love and now Westbrook are the perfect examples of what the difference is when you play in a team system and when you play in a LeBron system

Love the quiet start😂
As a pistons fan, I haven't seen too much of amen, but I have seen ausar and if he is better on offense, he fs will be multiple time all star
never forget when td3 left the pacers out of their '1 trade for every team' video 😢
Bringing this up is actually upsetting because I've now thought about the Pacers more this week than I wanted

Ain’t he play like 70 games last season and stayed healthy till the play-in?

2020-21: 61 Games of 82
2021-22: Injured full season
2022-23: 29 Games of 82
2023-24: 70 Games of 82
