His defensive rating is 117.1, placing him in the spot just better than Steph and Dame, and is averaging 1.1 steals. He's a perfectly adequate defender and not the liability so many people seem to think he is.

I completely agree with the Embiid take. The goal of every NBA team is to construct a roster to compete for a title, plain and simple. You do not win the championship in the regular season, you win it in the playoffs. There may be 82 games in a season (which Embiid doesn’t play all of anyways because he gets hurt so much) but the 4-28 games that you can potentially play in the playoffs are what cement your legacy. It’s the reason why despite a very underwhelming career overall, Allen Iverson is held in such high regard because of what he did in his finals run.
