I think that was the best display Gears of War has shown how formidable even the basic soldiers of the locust were. It really puts a better perspective on why most of the population was brought to its knees in days.
personally, I think it's a drone and they leaned into the fact they are way stronger and tougher than humans + they hadn't juiced up the soldiers yet to keep up with the locust yet

I think the e-holes are red because of the illumination from the locust gear/lights (similar to cog being blue) and also glowing so much showing how many of them are in one spot. Pretty sure the old ones were yellow from immulsion being involved

I believe the holes are red because this is depicting events a bit before gears 1, gears 1 and 2 were the times when locust evaded but for a different purpose not their first evasion. So it must be before imulsion became an issue in the colony
The lambent is the entire reason the locust attacked because Adam Felix couldn’t find a solution

The dark atmosphere that makes gears’ identity is FINALLY BACK ! This is what gears really needed!! After the disappointment of Gears of War 4 (even if the Multiplayer wasn't that bad) and the terrible GEARS 5, I hope the best for this real Gears of war E-DAY! LET'S GOOOOOO!!

I always said that, in order for the next installment of the franchise to be a relevant title, the guys at The Coalition would have to make something like the original Gears did back in the days in terms of artistry and visual prowess, otherwise, it'll have no reason for being. It seems that they understood that well.
I'm excited that they finally called it Gears of War and not just Gears. I'm excited it seems we are also getting some type of origin story for Marcus, we get to see Dom alive again, and the grit appears to be back.
But my big fears, whenever they do a side game we get things like tatics or judgement. I just hope for all of us we get a good story because they chose a good timeline to make a story for, the gameplay mechanics are solid, and please make it so pc players who enable cross platform are forced to use controller or they can only play with pc players. Keyboard and mouse does not belong in Gears of War, nor in the console scene.

Just without center screen aiming like 1, choppy movements, random shotgun patterns. Gears 1 pretty dated and need some mechanical changes for sure. As far as atmosphere and such definitely agree.
@@XoxoKawaiiGirl I mean centre screen aiming was fine for me. It defo needs to be smoother! But i loved the fact that this game took quite a while to get very good at. I feel like the newer ones can be mastered in a week. Just a more polished style of Gears 1 with a few mechanics from 2&3 would be perfect!
The only reason I don't like center screen compared to out of barrel projectiles is because it kind of takes way from the game and makes long shot no scoping a little too easy. But I agree a polished version would be nice. There is a bit too much over saturation in 4 and 5, and things just straight up don't work.

@@OMGiTzWiLLoW I think they could really learn from looking at the classic three games as a whole not just one and pull the good aspects from all and bring them together. I'd even say some things from 4 and 5. Like vaulting cover so you don't have to just go into cover then hop over was actually a very welcome mechanic to me. It's very good when you are getting chased down in a situation with more people against you for repositioning, and survivability. I can't really think of to many good things from 4 and 5 mechanic wise other than that, but I'm sure there are some small ones. But vaulting cover was definitely a good add in my book.

I dont really see the similarities from the armor like your saying though and that was the drone not grenadier. But the thing is though this will be taking place before gears of war 1 this will be the gears first time seeing the locust ever so the locust armor and cog armor hasn't evolved into what gears of war 1 armor was and its also a trailer to showcase the new engine so when the game releases everything will be slightly different. And also the retro lancer is there because that was their weapons before they ever met the locust the lancer was designed after E DAY because it was designed to kill locust. Remember the pendulum wars only consists of retro lancers that's why the cog soldier toy had the retro lancer because in this new game the lancer with a chainsaw never existed until tai makes the idea. So there is a very high possibility of us not seeing the lancer in this new game
