She was so mature for 20, i think the 20 year olds nowadays are childlike.
yeah true but if you look into her biography more she went thru a lot as a child and grew up struggling where nowadays a lot of things come to us easy
I know people like her nowadays. I don't think it's related to the time period, I think it's related to how hard she had it growing up, not just issues in her family , but also moving ALONE as a teenager to NYC and having to start up this career and struggle to survive, have enough to eat and a place to stay. My brother dealt with a similar situation (without the success) and he's only 21. He's been on his own since he was 16.
It's the circumstances that she strived in, not the time period she grew up in.
She really matured backwards.

I feel like Mariah has always been really good about giving credit to mentors, other songrwriters, producers, artists etc in the industry.

hei hei do you know for a fact they lied to the media? Alison yes for she has an addiction and drug addicts do lie. As for Morgan he told the truth on Mariah’s drinking and diagnosis of bi polarity. He advocated for Alison for help with medical expenses. He stated he was doing what he can to help Alison. This stems from a home invasion where she nearly died and racked up medical expenses. Everyone slams Alison. Yes, she has made horrible life choices. But, what got her on that path comes from her childhood of abuse. The parents are not to be commended for. They are not innocent. Their mother did not raised Alison and she was not there for her like she was there for Mariah. A child needs their mother. Alison did not have one. Their mother brushed her aside while giving all support to Mariah. Mariah should not be place on a pedestal. She comes off rude to people. She used to be nice and respectful. Not anymore. Alison has had a lot worse than Mariah. No one was there for her in her younger days. It’s odd one is dirt poor no support from family and the other one filthy rich got support initially from her brother and mother. People speak on her substance abuse and Mariah does the same. The only difference is one with heroin and alcohol. The other is alcohol and misuse of prescription pills. Yes Mariah has helped her by giving her money. Bad mistake as Morgan has stated you never give an addict money. During that time a payee or a conservative should of handled the money to ensure that the money does not get blown away. The family dynamics were broken down with this family a long time ago.

I'm so fascinating by Early vintage Mariah, she was so mature, and classy. Plus her voice at that time was gold. And the interview was great, the questions were good and not stupid.
She's so lucky Brenda K Star was rooting for her! Alot of solo artists don't help their backup vocalists out of fear of them becoming bigger than them.

She's a virtuoso, there's no other word for it. Incredible vocalist and an amazing songwriter from a very young age. She carries herself with such sophistication, poise, and speaks with the softness of a literal angel. You'd be hard-pressed to find a twenty year old celebrity nowadays who behaves this way.

Mariah was like this, so humble and so mature until 1997/1998, up until her mental breakdown, and the total personality update came with the Emancipation of Mimi, where all the diva personality was created basically by Andre Leon Telly, who dressed her and gave her pointers on how to act like a 'star'. If you run into Mariah on the street or see her after a show, you'll see she's a total sweetheart and so insanely down to earth. Good for her for keeping her legendary status ❤️

@@dreamluvr1600 Mariah's publicist Marvet Britto introduced her to Andre because Mariah needed a makeover/transformation for her new album/era. They met and they clicked. He was one of the first people that actually told Mariah to OWN being a diva, because in the early 2000s the term was portrayed negatively. Britto asked Andre to "fix her broken relationship with fashion houses because no brand wanted to lend Mariah clothes" and he did! I don't remember hearing much about the brands Mariah wore before meeting Andre. That's probably why she shot Say Something at the LV store in Paris, because it was supposed to be the first single. He was tremendously influential when it came to Mariah's visual makeover and current style.
Interviews were so much more genuine back in the day. We need to get back to this.

Personally, I love the sound on Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel and Emancipation of Mimi. If her next album is something like those, I will be happy. She's not going to be making music like the 90s era again. We need to be realistic. I'm sad for her that she has natural issues with her voice.
