Thanks. Used this to get in the back of my 55 plate Seat Leon FR. Then found the latch had only come apart. All sorted now and a good few quirts of oil and he's back to knew after many tests. Cheers again for the upload

Hi mate. Managed to get the old handle and mechanism out but can’t for the life of me get the new one in! Help!

How the heck did you remove and install the handle with the lock intact lol …. Tried for absolutely ages to get it out … looks like I have to remove the lock to take out and then install the lock whilst handle is put back in?

Im doing this job right now. the video is incorrect. Well the steps, your right..the lock itself and retaining clip must be separated in order to install. My problem is the new replacement lock has that clip but I cannot figure how to remove it. Its moulded in such a way I cannot remove the retaining clip from the lock lol I think the OEM VW is easier but I could be wrong

@@elit3physique I eventually was able to do it ….. I found spraying penetrating oil around the new clip and using small flathead to pry it on one side …. Then was able to get the other side off.
(The original one was literally welded on from rust around it ect so had to cut it)
With the new one before install , I clipped it over the new lock surround , so once put into place , and putting new lock barrel into the handle on the inside … all I had to do was snap the U pin into place …. VW again making the most simple things so complicated …. A simple twist lock would do where you could slide it all out in one piece …. But no lol

@@focusfanatic123 glad to hear! Yes the uclip is so silly. If it didn't have that L bend at the end I could just slide it up.. I just cannot figure it out. I will try again. I just sprayed it blue indigo looks amazing. One of my car is all corroded and paint spilt urgh lol

    Hallo bro,
How did you insall the lock with the handle from outside? I have tge same problem I bought a new lock and then With some checking I saw that the lock was ok but it needed only some cleaning. So my question pls : Should deinstall only the lock from inside or the whole mechanism i mean the lock and the handle from outside?,Thanks a lot.

hi mate at the time the key did not work but he rang me the next day and told me it started working so the WD did it's job but the central locking was working so don't really need the key
