As a Verselab MV-1 user these tutorials are great, the techniques you use on the MC101 also apply to Verselab as they share an almost identical operating system, many thanks. 😊
Nice video and thanks for the shout out! I added this in the description for mine, I like the idea of the randomization with the sample chops and this demo sounds great. Great to see new videos from you!
Fantastic. So glad I found your channel. Just got my MC-101, and really appreciate, how to videos, like this. Big fan of generative music, so thanks for this, will give it a try. Have a great day, and best wishes for your continued success 🎶🌎☮❤
Tres cool. Hey I recently discovered you can record in realtime with more than 128 steps by creating 2 or more empty clips chained together and recording from the first clip. Maybe something to include in your next tutorial ☺️👍🇦🇺
@@teabreakbeats thank you really appreciate you listening and my pleasure with the tip. all the best. i listened to your tips heaps and was one of the reasons why I ended up buying my 101, so thank you🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🙏
Niiiice. I'll be trying this. One thing I would like to know is how you let the drum track play without being effected by the Master FX at the end there...
Thanks for watching - check out my subtle scatter video to see how I let the drum track play without being effected th-cam.com/video/1nGBLiNHbUA/w-d-xo.html
Seems like everybody's got the mc-101 in mind lately. Probably all these new increasingly expensive grooveboxes getting announced making us revisit it and push it a little farther before succumbing to GAS. Still one of the better grooveboxes for its price imo.
I'm late to the game and just got one this year... I'm a Roland hater by default (I don't even know why myself) and I can't deny it's power, versatility and flexibility...the sound is very polished and the form factor makes it the most complex and complete all in 1 groovebox...🤷🏻♂️
@@BendApparatus one thing I will say that really hits WAY above its price range is the note resolution. You can play unquantized and polyphonic phrases as fast and complex as you want, and it will record them extremely accurately. Pain to edit after the fact, but very accurate to your live playing! This is a godsend for metal or jazz where you can have flowy fast solos. Very few other grooveboxes can record with such accuracy, including elektron and novation, which even unquantized will restrict you to one note or one chord per step. Doesn't matter as much for on grid electro, but for metal it makes a huge difference. Now if only it could p-lock drums... Then it would be my dream box.
@@GeorgeL909 lol I hear you on that. I'm used to the others you mentioned, where I can sometimes input random notes and overwrite previous ones and rely on the snap to grid to make something decent (I have NO musical background) but on the 101 it just records everything...whatever mess that I fed it... it's like... here's your mess...you made it you fix it...😒
Hi - for the mute group, you need to be in "Note" mode first, then SHIFT + PAD and go to PAD EDIT. Then Scroll to Mute Group. (1:12) Thanks for watching!

It's such a cool box!
It’s strange man when I hit shift and the pad from seq I don’t get the mute option 😵💫

These music devices are deep.
Very deep - I still have lots to learn!
Yep. Useful.
