This is bangin, thanks so much for making my samples sound this good. The attention to detail is wild, I need to play around with motion designer more.
Dude you are awesome! The 101 is so underrated! I love the vocal on this too. Incredible job. Always look forward to your 101 videos seeing as I always pick up something useful. Cheers!
Great pick up! I think is an amazing little box (although the UI isn't the most intuitive!) - Hope you make some great music with it. Thanks for the sub - more videos coming!
Just got the Roland MC 101 thanks to Gabe Miller's videos. Didn't know you could edit so much on the groovebox, your video is absolutely brilliant and inspirational. Cheers :)
Absolutely brilliant. Square lfo to volume, and the pitched one shots on the drum tracks, amazing tips! I really gotta load the 101 with custom samples. I was so drawn in by the zencore stuff especially with the randomizer, but I never explored the sample as a tone feature. I'm inspired now 👍
Thanks George! Glad you found it useful! I know what you mean about the zencore stuff ... I still probably have 2,000 presets that I haven't even heard yet! And that's not even including the cloud packs.
Great video (and all your others) Thank you. Question though - when you record the tracks from 101 into Ableton, do they still contain all various effects / motion design etc that was applied within 101? I thought maybe you said they didn’t??? Could you clarify please.
Hi - it depends on where the effect is sitting, if the effect and motion designer or scatter is on the track output then it will get captured by the Multi-Track Track Output. However, the Master Effects sit on the master bus, so if you have a DJ Filter on the Master for example, you wont year the filter in the multi-track 3 and 4 for example, but you will still hear it on the master output. There is a diagram in the manual, which I reference over here: th-cam.com/video/lEIs64qTd6Q/w-d-xo.html
6:05 I wish there was a sidechain on your voice and the synth, so I could hear you clearer :P Man sick beat :D Thanks for the video I learnt a fair bit
I have a minute long loop of someone talking and can load it into a drum track as a sample, but I have to hold down the pad the whole time for it to play out fully. Is there a way to make it so it plays in full after I hit the pad once?
I use mine as a sample player ,the built in sounds do my head in, I prefer to use samples for my tones and pitch them over the top row, this way I can have 7 tones and one row just for the drums

Thanks for checking it out and sharing! Was great fun working with your pack!

This is the reason why I think the mc 101 is better than all portable groovebox in this price range. I take mine with me everywhere.
Yep - It's my fav portable groovebox so far! Thanks for watching

Good tips! I wish they would let us build our own synth patches without paying for the roland cloud. Thanks for watching
@@teabreakbeats cheers mate
Are the samples speeding up at different pitches?
Sorry it took so long for me to see your question. Yes it speeds up, workaround for time-stretch here: th-cam.com/video/BcZAbUuOKuk/w-d-xo.html
