As a beginner creator at 67, you've given me much to think about (and practice). What I love the most about your teaching is the confidence you give me. You continually encourage me to keep at it. Your Instagram postings are so uplifting! Thank you so much!

I love nature and want to learn to paint it. I want to learn different techniques so that I can then paint freely from my heart. I think your movies will teach me a lot.

Hi Kolbie, I am in tears. Happy Tesrs. When you said, this is time well spent, I felt my whole soul relax. Until now, I didn’t recognize how tense I was painting. I am a beginner. I can be hard on myself to do well. Some how, your words broke through the unknowing restrictions I put upon myself. I took up watercoloring for joy. I thank you. 🙏🏼

I am a 55 year old therapist that LOVES your newly found channel via Kristy Rice. I received your step by step Wilderness book in the other day. I gathered my supplies and now I’m ready to follow your book step by step. Suggestion: Can you post on the screen the current color you are using at the moment? Only if possible and not too much trouble. The things I enjoy about your channel… 5:34 you express yourself in a very real and personable way. You are open about your moments of doubt and how you move through them. Also, your projects seem doable. I understand that even if I copy your steps, my project will look different. And, if at any moment I start doubting myself, I will remind myself that my reason for painting is for self care and relaxation. I have an incredible career in the Mental Health field and in order for me to stay healthy, I paint. At the end of the day… I know I will feel satisfied with whatever mark I make of my paper. Thank you for the time you give to your channel and therefore to our community. Best wishes.

I like what you did with the gouache on the first coat as the painting was still wet. Giving more depth to the stars in the end.

I put being an artist on the back burner while I raised a family, worked a 9 to 5 and just did life. Now in my sixties I'm back painting and selling my art work. Watercolor has always been a favorite of mine but I mainly sketch with it and create a painting in acrylic (impasto/palette knife style). Now I am inspired to use these techniques and develop it into my paintings in my art business. You've reminded me that "perfection" isn't a thing and the fun & playfulness of watercolor is what brings out the joy in painting. Thanks!

Okay, 2 major things. Even after painting watercolor for 2 years or so, watching plenty of tutorials, etc., I never saw anyone go in and paint with water on a wet in wet painting. It worked beautifully for me on this sky. Also, I always wondered why my splatters didn't do what I want: usually splatters too big, etc. I never thought to use a size 2 brush for them. Perfect. Thank you, Kolbie, I learned a lot with just this one video.

I love how you champion us- I came from Skillshare and I follow you on socials. I love how you champion us when we are not our 100% self. Whenever I am having a mental health check-in, an imposter syndrome moment… I go to your socials and do your mini tutorials. But equally, I find a pure meditative joy in your 10 workshops. What is art if not an imitation of life… a metaphor for it. I’ve learnt not to judge my art if I feel my art didn’t as well as planned…likewise I’ve learnt not to be too hard on my self… if things I planned didn’t end the way I thought they would. Thank you for sharing your art, an insight into your beautiful soul and thank you for telling us nay showing us to celebrate it all 🫶🏻

Until saw your video mine looked to light as didn’t go back second time & water colors dry lighter & doing those trees “random blobs” still trying to get that look but having such fun. Tysvm for sharing these as never went to art school & at my age (must learn) this way!
